Meaco have admitted that some of their dehumidifier models with a 2 year guarantee will only last 2-4 years, meaning they are likely to break just outside warranty!
Be aware that the warranty period is different across models. Our dehumidifier, which we paid around £150 for, had a 2 year warranty and broke just outside this period. It had a fault with the screen which seems to be a very common problem with the units. Out of warranty there is a cost of £70 plus £10 for a box to get the unit repaired but this is not guaranteed. This cost is extortionate relative to the price of the product.
The Consumer Rights Act states that products must be be satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Under this law electrical goods need to last a reasonable length of time, which in England and Wales is 6 years. On pointing this out to Meaco they responded to state that "For a domestic dehumidifier in this price range, a lifespan of around 2–4 years would generally be considered reasonable."
No wonder the warranty period for this particular unit is only two years! A 2-4 years lifespan for the product is absolutely not reasonable and completely ignores the 6 years set out by the Consumer Rights Act.
My partner has taken the unit apart and diagnosed the issue, however Meaco do not sell any spare parts (which in itself is unlawful where parts are not regulated as it prevents right to repair) so we are having to source a new display screen from elsewhere (which incidentally only costs a couple of pounds) and hope this works.
What a waste of money, plastic and resources if we are unable to repair it ourselves. It is ironic that Meaco keep sending marketing emails saying how the company is sustainable. If they were actually sustainable they would sell parts and/or provide lifetime warranties.

The fault on our dehumidifier was handled smoothly and efficiently and we had it back and running in a week. We were updated at each stage by customer service .Rather different than a lot of companies nowadays.

Unbelievable service
Unbelievable service! Our dehumidifier stopped working after 3.5 yrs and Meaco paid for delivery of box and for postage and fixed it really quickly with no extra cost. Would recommend this company as a sustainable alternative ti cheap dehumidifiers.

Outstanding
We have been using Meaco products for over 3 years. They are excellent. We have two different sized Arete dehumidifiers and an aircon unit.
The units are very effective at keeping our house and laundry dry. The other stand out is the gold standard customer service and warranty . If there is an issue within 5 years they just collect it, fix it and send it back. Most companies delay or try to wriggle out of warranty obligations asking for x y z documentation or saying it is not covered because of : reason a b or c. So refreshing to find a company that is trustworthy. Meaco are like John Lewis used to be in the last century. We wouldn't buy any other brand of de humidifier.

Best company I have ever dealt with regarding fault repair
Meaco are without doubt the best company I have ever dealt with with regard to fault repair! My original email reporting a fault on my dehumidifier was sent 26th March and now today, only one week on, Meaco have fixed and returned it in full working order, with a 2 yr guarantee on work undertaken.
Communication throughout has been superb, having received emails at every stage to keep me in the loop.
I would have no hesitation in buying from Meaco in the future and would highly recommend to others. Many thanks to all staff involved.

Had a problem with my dehumidifier / took my call, agreed it was in warranty, arranged collection and return and all happened within a matter of days.

Fantastic response to my original email querying a fault. As my dehumidifier was under warranty Meaco arranged collection, repair and return within a week. I was also offered a service at a very reasonable cost, which I took. Their customer service is excellent.

Arate one just over 2 years old
Arate one just over 2 years old. First thing to go was the on/off button and I had to turn off from socket. Then the panel on top showed all random signs and would not work. So the unit was broken. Got it fixed and seems to be ok now. Meaco are aware of faulty panels … it shouldn’t happen after such a short space of time. Fair play for fixing it

Device returned with same fault
I wasted a week sending my device for repair, told air sensor, control panel replaced and serviced to find the fault has not been fixed and then being told to clean a sensor that I was told was replaced!!!

Excellent customer service
Our Meaco dehumidifier developed an electrical fault. The company sent us a box, arranged pick up of the faulty product and returned it repaired in a few days. Excellent service and delighted that they fixed the product, rather than just replace it. If only more companies worked on this basis. Well done to the Meaco team.

Rapid warranty repair
Arete One 25L used continually since Jan-23. Stopped working in Mar-26 with random characters on really dim display. Contacted Meaco support who arranged for unit to be picked up, changed display and returned unit within 1-week! Superb service 👏 Keep original packaging for 5-years warranty returns.

5 star service..excellent..
We had a problem with our Dehumidifier which had a 5 year warranty. So we contacted Meaco who were very helpful, they dispatched a shipping box out to us and then picked up our item the next day. In 6 days time our repaired Dehumidifier was delivered back to us fully repaired and in working order. All in 6 days which is we believe excellent service. We would recommend Meaco and if we require any other items we will certainly consider a Meaco product…. 5 star service…

Excellent service from Meaco. Our dehumidifier was picked up by courier, repaired and serviced (I paid £25 for the service) and returned via courier within a week. Couldn’t have asked for more. Wow. I really can’t praise Meaco enough. Dehumidifier failed after almost 2 years of constant use. Didn’t think the warranty was for any longer than 12 months or as is typical I hadn’t registered on a website to extend the cover. No need. Emailed customer service with receipt, and the issue. Email by return offering to collect and repair. All done within 7 days. Great communication, great service. Will definitely recommend Meaco. And especially their customer service team!
