Would recommend for conveyancing
My husband and I used McClure solicitors when buying our house and the service was great - very smooth process and we were kept well informed. We were first time buyers and the process was explained to us very well. Would recommend.
Super Service
I would highly recommend this company for their professional, efficient and speedy service. I can only praise Ross Anderson for being so well informed, courteous and patient with myself and my mum when explaining what we needed to know.
I would definitely use them again.
Top Notch Service
I purchased my 1st and 2nd home through Mclures Solicitors, I have always worked with Ross Anderson on the purchase of these houses and found him and the rest of the staff to be supper friendly and very helpful.
Ross managed to get everything pushed through the day before we went into lockdown in the mist of a pandemic, he was contactable at anytime of the day in what is one of the most stressful processes to go through in your life (even more so during a pandemic).
Excellent Service
I used McClures after the passing of my mother to deal with the sale of her house and other services. I found them to be very professional and was kept up to date all through the transaction. I would highly recommend this company and would like to thank Mr Anderson for all his prompt assistance.

Excellent
Have used McClure Solicitors during two different property purchases. They have been outstanding to work with. They have has been so helpful, friendly, informative and professional throughout. We worked with Ross who was brilliant at keeping us informed every step of the process and eased any worries that occurred.
Fantastic service!
I recently bought a house and the service was great. Even though we were in "lockdown" and other companies were not at work, I was still able to speak with Ross and ultimately get my keys (albeit I couldnt get movers) . Ross was always in contact with me and kept me up to date with any developments that happened. Great service all round and will certainly be using them again when I sell my property
Great Service!
My family have used McClure's for several of their services - Wills, Power of Attorney and also to set up a Trust.
We were given the highest level of service and kept up to date throughout the entire process.
Their professionalism was of the highest standard.
I would have no hesitation in recommending McClure's to anyone looking to avail of their services.

I took my mom to a seminar run by McClurres some years ago, she was so impressed by what they had to say she set up a trust fund with them putting into the trust her apartment and a investment with prudential. All to protect what she had and make things easy for us. When we sadly lost our mom , We asked mcclures to sell the property ( it had to be sold back to the housing association) , mcclures dragged their feet we were constantly chasing them up to be told the problem lies with the housing association, it took 5 months for them to complete and a constant badgering by ourselves. So that completed we are now waiting for them to sort out the investment with prudential well this has been going on since last July almost 12 months and they keep saying the problem lies with prudential. I find it strange that there is always someone else to blame. I am finding it all very stressful my mom bless her did this to make life easy for us but it has made things very difficult and very stressful. We just want a end to this but cannot see one in sight.

Unsure - avoid McClure
My mother passed away in March, McClure had set up her discretionary Trust and Will many years ago. They have received all documentation but have not done anything to move forward with the process. Initially they told me we haven't started the bond encashment process yet but will immediately transfer funds already in trust to me. After a month or so I followed up again only to hear they haven't done anything yet. Each time I contact them I am told that they have requested payment but need one more thing. For example, I was told we just need to confirm bank details, so I confirm them. Time passes so I contact them again. Then I was told we just need to confirm the bank address. I confirm. Next thing is we lost her death certificate. The latest excuse is someone quit, and my solicitor says he is overworked. Delay after delay and excuse after excuse. I am first executor of the will and a Trustee to boot, but they will not communicate with me and though I have not entered into a formal agreement with them to finalize my mother affairs they seem to have usurped the process. I think I need to get another solicitor to start proceedings against this company.
Update 1
I see you have acknowledged my review. Please let me know your findings.
Update 2
I guess the customer care team are so busy working on other customer issues that they can't reach out to me with anything other than a sorry to hear email. I expect like so many other things when dealing with McClure it is sitting on someone's desk un-cared for.
Update 3
You can understand how some reviewers get naively carried away by the service provided on the front end of this will and trust process. The cookie cutter production line one size fits all approach to setting it up ensures they can charge a good fee while keeping their costs and services to a minimum. It may be OK during set up, but the service that it is supposed to be provided when a loved one passes away is the worst and heaps anguish and insult on to injury throughout the process.
After a few weeks waiting on my original complaint I get an email from someone at McClure saying my review is compete, and that they did nothing wrong except perhaps things could have communicated better. They also said that since funds have now been transferred my complaint is resolved. Well I check the bank account and only partial funds have been transferred. I email back asking for a full accounting of the Trust, what funds were transferred and when they were transferred. Close a complaint stating your only fault was possibly poor communication and in doing so provide confirmation of such by yet another example of poor communication and lack of follow through. Partially fulfilling a legal responsibility does not mean the situation is resolved. I have passed this on to the "customer care" team as well but have yet to receive an acknowledgement.
July 2nd and no acknowledgement.

McClure: Untrustworthy
McClure have exploited my (now deceased) elderly relative. She had dementia and handed over her house to McClure.
My relative's beneficiaries cannot sort out the estate because McClure refuse to administer the Trust. This is because one of their partners was found guilty of professional misconduct by the Scottish Law Society for unleashing an unqualified practitioner onto a blind and deaf client in his 90s with dementia - stating he was competent to make rational decisions about his will.
This in turn has meant McClure is refusing to deal with my dead relative's Trust - leaving us in limbo. The Law Soc case can be googled with the following key words: Law Society of Scotland against WW & J McClure Ltd
Do not put your assets into a McClure trust
IMPORTANT update
As per below my family managed to (relatively) quickly get my aunt’s house out of the dodgy trust that McClure had set up. Two very important points for any family in the same position. 1) you are better off getting the house transferred into the name of the beneficiaries (by the Land Registry) and then using a decent solicitors to help you sell it 2) Mclures were not 100% truthful about the situation with Shirley Anne Houlighan (quelle surprise!). We approached her directly and through her own solicitor she was very helpful and sympathic and did not charge us for the work she had to do to help us. But in the circumstances paying her £300 for her services would have still been better than, and reasonable given, the trouble of continuing to deal with McClure and having to get other solicitors involved.
My family finally managed to extricate my deceased aunt’s house from out of the trust set up by McClure (in-spite of many hurdles and problems caused by McClure and it taking far longer than it should have done). So the good news is that, with persistence, it can be done albeit that it is a very painful and time consuming.
As per the other negative reviews, please do not put your house or other assets into a trust set up by this firm. My aunt was possibly misled (that is putting it kindly as she had Alzheimer’s) into putting her house into a trust with McClure. Looking into their marketing of the benefits of these protection trusts and given what the actual reality is, there was no need to put the house in a trust to get the protections she was seeking. Sadly my aunt died two weeks ago and McClure have told us that they cannot “administer” the trust as one of the trustee is not cooperating with them (who knows what has gone on there?). As a result we are in limbo and McClures are not responding to any of our calls or emails. They haven’t even managed to divert their office phones to be picked up by home workers (which says so much about their competencies). We now have to retain another solicitor to sort out the mess McClure have created. It is appalling to treat the bereaved like this.
Nice touch - McClures - rather than spending your time helping your clients, you seem to devote more time scouring Trustpilot for bad reviews and reporting them. It’s a pity that you can’t spend your time more productively working as solicitors, as that might mean there would be fewer negative reviews, in the first place.
Do not put your house in Trust with McClures
I would advise anybody of putting their house in Trust with McClures to seriously think twice about it. The very reason that people put their house in Trust is to protect the families inheritance and to take away the stress of selling the home and organising Probate, after a loved one has passed away.
My father died in July 2019 and I can categorically say that I have never felt so stressed over anything in my life as this. The lack of communication, organisation and just general administration of the Trust is appalling, not to mention the turn over of staff. What you don't realise is that when the house is in Trust when your loved one dies that you basically have no say in the matter and the Estate Agent can't tell you nothing.
My father's house was sold on 2nd April 2020 and the monies paid to the Trustees of McClures nearly three weeks ago. If the family had sold the house we would now have the money. It is as if they do not want us to have what is rightfully ours. The offer on the house was put in at the beginning of November and luckily the buyers were extremely patient. There has been problem after problem from the very start.
I just want this to be over with, then I can finally grieve for my dad.

My husband's family have been trying to contact McClures for some weeks since his father died. Fobbed off with promises to call you back deal with your query, this never happens and now they can and do blame the coronavirus. Do not trust these people with your money and estate if you ever want to see it again. Please do not give them your time or money....

Very professional will writing service.
Will writing service was easy to achieve using the very professional services offered by the solicitors at McClure's and as it was charity month my preferred charity benefited from the outset as they waived their normal fee.

If I could have gave no stars I would, still waiting 16 months later for my parents trust to be sorted out, pushed from pillar to post if you can actually get to speak to someone that includes answering emails. Must be the most inefficient company I have ever dealt with, I'm now going to the law society as I'm fed up with this fiasco, please believe me when I say use this solicitors at your own pearl.

Excellent, professional service
We needed new wills and chose McClure’s as the firm seemed to have the expertise we required. We were not disappointed. The person who handled our affairs was extremely helpful, very professional and spent considerable time explaining various options. She took a genuine interest in us as people and we felt valued.
We would definitely use McClure’s again and would recommend them without hesitation.
