Used McClure solicitors through Age Concern for our mirrored wills excellent service from start to finish would definitely recommend and at an affordable price

APPALLING SERVICE AVOID

No updates. Impossible to get staff to answer their extension numbers or return your call, or answer emails.

Make a complaint and you will be told it will be investigated and you will be contacted in seven days with the outcome. No response after this time has lapsed.

This is my experience, my sister has endured the same terrible level of service throughout.

My late Father paid for a trust for his estate in 2005. Promised that his estate would be taken care of on his death and a seamless and fast procedure for his beneficiaries to be settled as his wishes. This is not the product received.

Part of his estate was not included by the trustees and as a family we had to employ an independent solicitor to assist as a bond went through the Edinburgh High Court. In addition a not unsubstantial amount of money is owed for care my Father received. This trust has yet to be settled to us. My father has now been dead 17months.

The sale of my Father's house was completed on 29th March this year. Now six weeks hence my Sister and I are still awaiting our share from the house sale. My Brother recieved his on the 11th of April this year. Explanation given was a contest of the will. This was quickly resolved and agreed that the will would be settled per my Fathers instruction. That was almost a month ago. All paperwork required was completed and submitted timeously. Again no explanation for the delay has been given.

In addition documents (including copies of death certificates) have been lost or misplaced. Instructions given have been ambiguous or wrong.

I have requested the email address of the client relations manager and have not recieved this courtesy either.

I shall be taking this complaint as far as I can via the SLCC.

This review is a warning for anyone contemplating using this company.

McClure solicitors were really proactive in helping us write our joint wills. They took the time to understand our wishes and were very patient with us as we worked through the process. The whole process took just 2 meetings. Would definitely recommend.

Just recently used McClure solicitors for the making of our wills,
there advice was exceptional, they made us aware of lots of things we had not even thought of. The staff were always polite are courteous and treated us both with respect. The wills themselves were completed within the time scale they advised. I would advise anyone who is thinking of making a will to contact McClure's for there valuable advice before contacting any other solicitors

I have never done this before and didn’t know what to expect.I found your company very nice.I found the process long and dragged out.we were handed a bill more than we had expected.

Can't give them zero unfortunately. Please no one deal with this cowboy firm. My late aunt's estate is currently being not dealt with this group of incompetent fools. Mclures were instructed in March 2018 to deal with this estate ( my aunt had already initiated a freehold change in 2017) with them prior to her death in February 2018 still not sorted now almost two years later and has now been paid for!!!!!! Her estate is now still at probate and my sister who is executer of the will and has done most of the work for mclures is constantly put off by excuses of their incompetence they have offered a 25% reduction in the bill that we have not seen. We have managed to complain although 3 months later from the complaint it is no better. This has not finished yet and fortunately my sister has a file of various communications between mclures and herself as executor. Shame on you Mclures

Where do I start, my mother passed away in August 2017 and the family went to McClures to get my mums estate settled in September 2017 as she left no will, And what a very big mistake we made the company are very incompetent with nothing getting done for months on end, and here we are January 2019, they have received my Mums funds from the bank and have been reluctant to pass it on to the beneficiaries , one excuse after another from the very start the latest one saying they NOW need to contact the DWP to see if she owes them any money, this should have been done over a year ago, but no they wait until they get the money in their bank then decide to contact the DWP, guess who will be receiving the interest on this money? We now need to go to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission as we feel they are holding on to the money for their own personal gain and may have acted unlawfully in doing this , If anybody is considering using this company I would advise to stay well clear. I have given them 1 star, this is only because I couldn't give them zero. Awful service.,

In reply to the below reply, My sister has never been fully aware on the proceedings she has constantly had to phone to get any updates and she is not satisfied with the service received, We received a letter from the DWP showing money that was owed a year ago which was paid in full and a copy of the said letter and receipt was forwarded to yourself's so no money is owed to the DWP, A month ago when she phoned she was told that is everything done and it was just a matter of her to sign a letter and return it, a week passed no letter she phoned again to be told it was still sitting on the lawyers desk for him to sign and would be sent out the following day, once again no letter so she phoned again to be told about the DWP, when we first came to you we were told it would take 6-8 months this is because we had to wait to see if the DWP would claim any money back which they did and has been paid.

I made arrangements to have 3 will drafted, this was done and an appointment was made to sign the wills. We should have received the draft wills before the signing. The day before the signing we had not received the draft wills so I cancelled the appointment. I made a further appointment, my husband received a draft of his which was wrong and had to be sent back. The other 2 did not appear. I emailed asking for the complaints procedure, I got a phone call instead explaining that a lot of people had been using the service and they were behind. As I pointed out this was not my problem. I agreed that the wills could be sent out first class post and someone would phone me in a weeks time to make a further appointment. The wills arrived and mine was completely wrong, as was my fathers. I phoned to complain and tell them I wanted nothing more to do with the company. I still do not have the complaints procedure as it is not visible on their web site.

Efficiently sorted out the information needed for the documents.
Revisited my home with the completed documents to sign
I used McClures as they do a Free( you give a donation to them and they donate the full amount to your nominated charity).
I paid for my LPA documents however these were at a reduced rate.
A hassle free service in an area of our life which can be a sensitive place to visit.
I’d highly recommend this firm for their understanding in this delicate subject.

What a waste of time McClures solicitors legal paperwork from our solicitors sent mid October 2018 to Kudeja Ali to get signed so we can sell our house our solicitors have sent loads of emails and tried to contact the above company with no response so our buyers have been delayed and our house in Devon those people are also delayed as we are to we we suppose to move 17 Dec so all 3 moving companies have also been put on hold due to total incompetence.I got through to K Ali. today 12 Dec and al I got was I am not in the office but will try to post it tomorrow Thurs I had already phoned 3 times and was told each time a message would be sent to her when we spoke she said I haven’t got time to read emails WHAT who are we putting our trust in when you get that sort of response if our house sale fall through due to total incompetence I will be taking legal action we spent a lot of money with people and for WHAT can’t even get a form signed and sent off to our solicitors after nearly 3 months .So as you can appreciate there are 3 households 6 people stuck in limbo and 3 removal firms having to cancel planned house moves. We are extremely disappointed with the service we have received in dealing with probate for my late mothers estate - it has been exceptionally slow. She died on 14th March 2018 and I sent in all the documents requested by McClure to them by the 5th April. We still do not have her estate settled and distributed to the beneficiaries. It is a very simple estate with just 3 things - a lease hold flat that was repurchased by the Charitable Trust that owned it, a small sum of money in a current account - for which I submitted a statement printed after she had died, and a very small holding of shares. This has not been a complicated estate to deal with but we are nearly on 8 months now and no sign of the funds being distributed. It took months to get the grant of probate which they completely failed to inform the executors had been granted despite one of the people I had spoken to before I went on holiday telling me they would write to me to let me know when it had come. I have made constant phone calls chasing things but to no avail. They seemed completely unconcerned that we were accruing service charges on the flat of over £1000 a month until probate had been granted and the lease could be relinquished. This has cost at least an extra £3000 that has to come out of the estate than if we had applied for probate ourselves. We have had mailings to beneficiaries and executors that they have said have been sent not arrive and they've had to had to be resent. One was the letter informing us that we were beneficiaries and one , the probate form, which we were told had been sent by recorded delivery. When this didn't arrive and I contacted them, all sorts of excuses were given, one being it was stuck at the post office and they would look into it! Eventually it arrived with the letter dated AFTER the date that they had originally said it had been sent out! Then they phoned me to ask for the grant of probate to be sent back - I haven't even seen it! Tried 4 times in last two working days to speak to someone again and just got answer phone - they are always away from their desk. We would have been far better off to completely ignore the fact that my mother had paid £3300 for a Probate Plan through Golden Charter and just got on and done it ourselves which we are more than capable of doing . Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I was fascinated by the fact that McClure's do wills for free if you make a donation to a charity. They are professional and very helpful and I found Jason Richardson, my consultant very courteous and answered my calls quickly and made me feel assured every step of the way.

I have recommended him to 4 of my friends since.
