In my direct experience, I recommend that anyone considering using Laurus Solicitors, and in particular their associates, should proceed with caution.I sold my flat and the buyers instructed Laurus Solicitors. The Associates acted as the solicitor for the buyers on the purchase. Throughout the conveyancing process, the Associate repeatedly asked the same questions even after receiving clear, detailed answers on multiple previous occasions. His lack of knowledge on insurance and law in general was frightening. This pattern continued over an extended period. His communications were often abrupt and dismissive. As a direct result of these repeated issues, the transaction experienced significant and avoidable delays. These delays caused me substantial financial loss, including the loss of tenants and rental income, as well as additional legal costs. The process was also very stressful.In my honest opinion, I was disappointed with the service provided. I would therefore advise buyers and sellers to carefully consider whether this firm or this solicitor is the right choice for them. There are many other options available.

Stanley and Madeline provided an impeccable service. They managed a process where the buyer and the seller were abroad, in a time sensitive deal.

I cannot recommend Farieda Elmi and Amnique Machiana highly enough. We were on the brink of losing the property we were trying to purchase due to serious delays and issues caused by our previous solicitors. Very poor communication and minor errors made throughout. Whole process took more than 8 months and communication was terrible.

After procrastinating over completing LPA’s my husband and I decided to bite the bullet and get professional help. Didn’t know where to start and so asked around. Chloe was recommended to us by Ally Stuart an apprentice solicitor there. An introduction was made and as we were travelling we needed a very quick appointment to enable us to take necessary paperwork with us. Chloe was extremely professional and very friendly. I must warn anyone in the strongest possible terms to steer well clear of Laurus, and in particular Stanley Maskell. In the sale of my flat, the buyers instructed Laurus, and Stanley Maskell was the solicitor responsible for the purchase. In my direct experience, his conduct was shockingly unprofessional and fell far below any acceptable standard for a conveyancing solicitor.Throughout the entire process, Stanley Maskell repeatedly asked the exact same questions despite having already received clear, detailed answers on multiple occasions. This was not a one-off oversight but a persistent failure to read, understand or retain basic information. His communications were rude, abrupt and dismissive, and he displayed a worrying lack of knowledge of straightforward residential property law and procedure.His incompetence caused prolonged and entirely avoidable delays that had serious financial consequences for me. I lost tenants, suffered substantial lost rental income, and was forced to incur extra legal costs to try to push the transaction through. The stress and financial damage were significant and entirely attributable to the way Stanley Maskell handled (or rather mishandled) the matter.In my strong opinion, Stanley Maskell’s approach was borderline incompetent and thoroughly unprofessional. Laurus, under his involvement, provided a woefully substandard service. I would strongly advise both buyers and sellers to avoid this firm and this solicitor at all costs. There are far more competent professionals available.
