Slightly cumbersome experience, although help is available things such as the photos with ID are not very user friendly. Also the fee for GB services is (too) steep.

As a musician / sound tech you can’t have enough stuff … but why buy everything yourself if you can rent it at a fraction of the price! I needed a digital snake to expand my own mixing desk for a concert and instead of having to invest over € 500 I now spend even less than 10% to nakie it a succesvol and stress less gig! I’m a convinced fan!

Gearbooker is difficult to get into, but once you've verified every detail of yourself its a great way to rent photography gear and dj gear.
Note, many dj renters have ghost profiles, don't just look for 1 protentional match.

Low key renting gear around the corner. And also way cheaper than rentals! My first experience with Gearbooker was great!

Lees goed alle kleine lettertjes! Zowel als huurder en als verhuurder!

Buiten het feit dat je je, zowel als huurder of als verhuurder, moet identificeren alsof je je voor een cryptobeurs inschrijft, moet je als huurder vaak belachelijk hoge borg betalen. €850 borg op een huurprijs van €81? Werkelijk? En dan kan je ook nog eens behoorlijk lang wachten voordat je je borg terugkrijgt.

En als verhuurder wordt je vaak genaaid door de aangeboden "halve dag huur". Ook al geef je aan dat je minimale huurperiode 1, 2 of meer dagen is, een huurder kan gewoon aangeven dat hij het apparaat pas om 12:00 nodig heeft en het systeem halveert dan gewoon je dagprijs. Nogmaals, ook al heb je aangegeven dan je minimale huurperiode 1 dag of langer is. En alsof dat nog niet belachelijk genoeg is, sommige producten komen dan onder een huurprijs die lager is dan de minimale commissie die Gearbooker opeist. M.a.w. je krijgt dan letterlijk 0 Euro voor je uitgehuurde gear!

Edit: Mijn 2 sterren gewijzigd naar 1 ster. Tegenwoordig kan je zelfs niet meer op berichten reageren als je niet je identiteit geverifieerd hebt!

En dat moet door: een foto van je paspoort te maken (ze accepteren geen scan), een selfie van jezelf met dat paspoort in je handen, en een document welk je adres bevestigt (maar mag niet ouder dan 1 maand zijn). Het probleem hierbij is, dat als je je telefoon gebruikt voor de fotos, je in de problemen komt als je een document wilt uploaden (je internet-rekening bijcoorbeeld) omdat je die natuurlijk niet op je telefoon hebt, en anderzijds, als je je PC gebruikt en geen webcam hebt, dan kan je geen selfie en foto maken van je paspoort.

Echt, wat een amateuristisch zooitje daar bij Gearbooker! Ik gebruik Gearbooker nu alleen nog voor de contacten die het oplevert, maar iedere klant raad ik daarna aan om absoluut nooit meer via hun te huren!

Ik kende het niet, totdat ik het vond via Google. En wat ben ik blij met dit kanaal.
