Curtis International was contacted on 5/25/2022 and emailed the following to me:
For us to serve you better, we will need the following information.
1. A clear and readable picture of the bill of sale. Please note the bill of sale must show the following:
a. Store Name and Address *except if purchased online
b. Date of Purchase
c. Item description
d. Unit Price
e. Total amount paid
If you do not have the bill of sale, you may try contacting the dealer's customer care department for added support.
2. A clear picture of the front of the unit (for TV's, a full-frontal image with the TV turned on is required)
3. A clear view of the rear of the unit (All edges must be visible)
4. A clear and readable picture of the model # and serial # sticker (located on the back of the unit)
5. A clear picture/video clip of the defect/issue
6. And a detailed explanation of the defect/issue

The above documentation was emailed to Curtis International. Curtis International responded as follows: Upon further review, we recommend referring this first to the store where you purchased the unit, as it may still be under their return and refund policy which could cut the process shorter. Otherwise, we will gladly explore our support options available to you and please let us know the feedback of the store.
I emailed the store's feedback to Curtis International and said that I was concerned that a replacement might also fail so my preference would be a full refund and had the store permitted a return (as your email suggests we try), a full refund is what I would have received.

After an in-depth review of your case, we will process the claim for your unit.
July 29, 2022 Telephoned Curtis International for the claim status and spoke with Jack. Jack explained that the Ticket # is required on the front of screen and an image of the cut cord is also required. I explained that Jennifer had instructed to put the case file number on the back of the TV. Jack apologized for being given the wrong instruction. While Jack remained on the phone, I resent images that I had previously sent showing the ticket number on the screen and the first image I had previously sent showing the cut cord. Jack kept insisting that the images were not clear but finally agreed that the images were acceptable.
The reason for my 1 star review is that the claim process is still not complete after two months. Support staff is very slow to respond. Once the claim is approved, there is another long delay (3-5) weeks before a refund check will be issued.

Omg after reading all these horrible…

Omg after reading all these horrible stories I know I am not alone. I normally do not write reviews but this company is horrible. I brought a 70inch tv from Target and two months later the tv will only cut on if you unplugged it and plugged it back up again. I been going back and fourth with this Curtis International and I am completely getting the run around. I have sent the pictures about 5 times of the issue and a clear video of the issue. Finally I move to the next step witch was to cut the cord on the tv and damage the back. I have done that and nothing I keep getting the same email reply back no one answers the phone. This is ridiculous. I don’t even know what to do at this point.

I purchased a nugget ice maker

I purchased a nugget ice maker. It Died. I jumped through hoops, e-mailing them back in forth due to them asking for more information. It got to the point, they wanted me to send them a video of a dead ice maker. This has been going on for close to 2 weeks. they finally emailed me and wants me to send the ice maker to a warehouse in California to make the determination if they will send me a new one or credit me. Oh did i mention i have to send a 40lb ice maker and i have to pay for the shipping? If i could give it less than one star, I would. This company Has a very poor warranty process and when i called, the phone support is even worse.Every customer that comes into my business will hear about my experience.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. Purchased a counter top Frigidaire icemaker in August 2021. It stopped working a few months later. Reached out to Curtis International and was told I could return the item to the Richmond, BC location. Drove an hour to get there and the office had brown paper on the windows, no identifying signage and locked doors. I contacted the 1-800 number and was told to submit pictures, serial number info, etc which I did. Was advised in December that I was entitled to a replacement (2-3 weeks) or a refund (4-6 weeks). I asked for a refund if possible as we found the unit to be very noisy. Almost 3 months later we are still waiting for a refund. I have called 6 times, the latest being today, and have been told each time that my case has been escalated to a supervisor and that I would receive an email or call the same day - which I have not. Their customer service is terrible.

Horrible company

Horrible company to try and get warranty through. I bought a $1000 QLED TV which the screen started to have lines through it only 6 months after buying it. It took me 5 days just to start the warranty claim. Now I have to wait 10 business days for them to process the application. Then once the decide if it is under warranty, I have to wait another 10 business days for them to decide if they want to replace it or repair it. If they want to repair it, I have to take it to the repair shop and wait more days for it to be repaired. For spending so much on a tv and being without it for a month for them to decide if they want to warranty it or not is ridiculous! I will never buy anything from them again.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware! I purchased a Frigidaire fridge from Costco in January 2021. The fridge started failing in Nov 2021 – it wouldn’t keep food cold in the fridge or freezer section. After trouble shooting on our own, we contacted Costco’s warranty department in mid Dec of 2021. They said because the fridge was still under manufacturer’s warranty that they couldn’t help us and to talk to Frigidaire. After multiple calls to Frigidaire’s customer service department (who kept repeatedly telling me I couldn’t read the serial # on the fridge in front of me) they figured out it wasn’t actually a Frigidaire fridge but made by Curtis International, who pays Frigidaire to put the Frigidaire logo on their appliances. I was passed off yet again.
A few calls and emails to Curtis later, I finally got a hold of their warranty department, and after sending in a bunch of photos they agreed to warranty the fridge. They said we would get either a new fridge sent to us or a cheque for what we paid at Costco. This whole process took weeks to go through. The warranty was approved in January (almost a month later from the initial contact), but they would not tell me what the resolution was going to be (either a new fridge or cheque). We had been without a functioning fridge since Nov and all I was asking was what option they were doing so I could either wait or go out and buy a new fridge. Multiple calls to customer service and emails to the warranty department left me with no answers. NO ONE could answer my simple question, their replies were vague, template answers and not helpful. And the warranty department will only reply to emails, and it takes days to reply and even then they don’t answer questions. I finally got an email for head office after calling customer service (again) and escalating my complaint to a supervisor. Again, only email (no phone) and days later they finally said they were sending a cheque (no timeline when). This was now 1 month from when the warranty was approved. I cannot understand why it would take 1 month to answer the question: are you sending me a fridge or a cheque.
Throughout this process I had repeatedly asked for someone to talk to me about the amount of the refund, because we bought it from Costco and used two forms of payment on the receipt (gift card and credit card). No one would ever call me or answer the question about the cheque amount until it was too late. The cheque arrived and it was not what we paid for the fridge! It was about $135 less, despite the fact that we sent them multiple copies of the receipt and I requested we discuss this before they sent the cheque. I still don’t know where they got that amount from that they sent me, as that number is nowhere on the receipt or anywhere near the retail price we paid.
This has been a horrible customer experience with this company. The communication is extremely poor and practically non-existent, and now not only am I out a fridge (which I had to destroy) but I am out $135 and I still have to go buy a new fridge! This all could have been avoided if they had communicated timely and properly. In retrospect, I would have demanded that Costco give me a refund and never dealt with this awful company.

Fridgidaire branding misleading

Bought what we thought was a, "Fridgidaire Professional Air Fryer". Turns out this is really Curtis and I would never knowingly buy a Curtis product. Fryer pan was flimsy and warped. Contacted customer support and they said the Warranty is only 14 days? Forgot to mention they ran me around for months taking pics etc. etc. Who ever heard of a 14 day warranty for a product capable of burning your house down?. Misleading customers by buying a known name and sticking it on junk should be illegal.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE! I have never dealt with worse customer service. I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator which was delivered May 6th 2021. I contacted them on May 10th to report that the bottom shelf on the door does not fit and that I think the issue is the door not the shelf. They proceeded to send me a new shelf which also did not fit. I've sent more emails than I can count and contacted customer service many times. They always tell me the part department is closed at this time and never return my phone calls. Emails from the parts department take at least a month for a response. I've spoken with Miss Glee which I was told was a supervisor and now waiting for Miss Kay to call which I am told is the Senior Supervisor. It is now December 14th and no resolution to my issue. Seems like an easy issue to resolve but all I get is the run-around from this company. If I could give them less than one star I would.

Do not trust this company

We recently bought a Thomson 7.5 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator -- the outside cardboard box was in excellent condition (no holes, dents. etc.). We drove 3 hours to deliver it to my kid, when we opened the box, the inside packaging (Styrofoam) was also in excellent condition. However, the fridge was severely damaged.

Given the condition of the fridge and packaging (both inside and outside), the only logical and reasonable conclusion is the damages must have occurred in the factory prior to packaging. Someone there decided not to care about the condition of the fridge and just packed it up for sale anyway -- let the unfortunate customers to be inconvenienced. We ended up driving another 86 miles 1-way to return it.

I later found several same complaints on Sam's product review pages – it seems like is a common practice of this company.

I email this information along with the photos to their customer service -- and here is the reply from Cherry Anderson:
"
We understand how important this is to you.

We regret to inform you that after a thorough review of the information provided, the issue may be considered shipping damage.

Please be advised that such a condition voids the manufacturer's warranty.

In this regard, we highly suggest referring this directly to the store where you purchased the unit. The store should be able to review the case based on their return and refund policy.
"

1. I don't know how it is possible for any shipping damage to result all packaging material in excellent condition, but only the fridge is severely damaged as shown in photos? I'd like to see a demonstration on that.

2. No apologies whatsoever in the entire email, instead they have the brazenness to inform me that manufacturer's warranty is voided.

We are not the only inconvenienced by this company's shady business practice and the attitude from the customer service was another hard pill to swallow. We will be reporting this company to BBB. No consumers should be cheated.

Received Frigidaire Countertop Ice…

Received Frigidaire Countertop Ice Machine as gift in March 2021, but by August 2021 it was leaking excessively.
Tried to use the warranty on the device, but was told by Curtis Int. that I needed to go to the person who gave me the gift and ask for the receipt. They said if that person didn't have it, then they suggested that person go to the store to try to obtain a copy of their receipt. Fortunately, my husband purchased this as a gift on our Costco membership and he didn't have the receipt, so I went to Costco member services and was able to have them find the transaction and print a copy of the receipt. I then did as I was instructed and sent Curtis Int. a copy of the receipt I was given by Costco. I received another directive by Curtis Int. that this receipt was not acceptable because it didn't show the name of the store so there was no proof it was from Costco. They provided me with the same direction to either get the original receipt or go to the store to get one. I called Costco member services again and was told that copies of receipts do not show the logo like the registers, but have the store number and all the other same in as the original receipt. I sent this new information to Curtis and was again, provided with a canned response saying that I needed the original receipt or needed to go to the store to obtain one. I called Costco again and let them know what was happening with Curtis Int. and they recommended just to return in to them to make it easier since I wasn't making headway trying to go the Warranty route. Ridiculous Curtis International!! If I could give a thumbs down or 0 stars I certainly would. If you have an appliance that uses them as a warranty service, save yourself the headache and time, just return it to the store.

Watch who your warranties are under Curtis International DON’T honour the factory warranties

This is the worst company to ever deal with especially with warranties, I have a seven month ice machine that broke while using and because it broke it’s not covered by warranty? Trying to explain that it broke while using is exhausting plus I receive several hangup phone calls from the support centre which the police will be involved shortly if they keep that up at one point I was looking for a replacement now I wanna refund and I’m going to go public every way possible to make sure they get lots of bad publicity!

Still ignoring my emails and tweets

Still ignoring my emails and tweets. Was given a definite reimbursement nod via phone call over 2 weeks ago, but have yet to hear from them.
RCA television was a Christmas gift for my mom, but it had a defect. Emails since March, tweets, phone calls and nothing to show for it.
I guess they are hoping I will give up and they can just steal our money.
Come.on Curtis International- do the right thing! How long you plan to leave us without the reimbursement?

45 minutes on hold

45 minutes on hold. When I finally reached a person, he ignored my question, asked for my email and then sent me a list of items I needed to submit to file a warranty claim.

My question had nothing to do with warranty, and it was a waste of time to try and get help.

I purchased an RCA Roku smart tv from Walmart.com January 9,2019. The tv stopped streaming Netflix and gave me a no connection to internet message. I called my internet provider and they are coming to check their equipment. It sounded to them like it was a tv problem. On my screen a message told me to contact curtis int. for further assistance. When I did this I was told they had to have clear pictures of my bill of sale, my screen, the back of the tv, serial number and 2 or 3 other things before they would even consider troubleshooting with me. I have no bill of sale and I gave them the serial number, place of purchase and date of purchase. I am 63 years old and cannot hoist this tv to take 25 pictures. This company is awful. Walmart told me they would help me if this stupid place doesn't. Do yourself a favor and NEVER purchase an RCA tv or anything Curtis offers. Horrible business and nasty phone reps.
