I purchased a Keter Newton Plus Garden Shed (4.7 x 2.3) from Costco in April this year for £1,699.99. The shed was delivered approximately two weeks later. Upon assembling the shed, I discovered that four of the components had been damaged.
Given the size and complexity of the product, which is supplied in four large boxes containing approximately 200 individual parts, it is simply not practical to inspect every component before commencing assembly. The damaged parts only became apparent as they were unpacked and installed during the building process.
As soon as I identified the damaged components, I contacted Costco's customer service department immediately. I was advised that if I was able to continue assembling the shed and keep it despite the damaged parts, Costco would provide a partial refund of the purchase price. Based on this assurance, I proceeded with the assembly.
I was therefore surprised to later receive an email from Costco questioning why I had continued building the shed, stating that I should have contacted them as soon as the boxes were opened. I explained that this expectation is unrealistic, as it is impossible to unpack and inspect approximately 200 parts for damage before beginning assembly.
After an extended exchange of emails, Costco offered a goodwill payment of just £50. I found this offer wholly inadequate and declined it, as it does not fairly reflect the inconvenience, the damaged goods supplied, or the assurances I was given by their customer service team.
I am disappointed by Costco's handling of this matter and believe I have been treated unfairly. As a result, I intend to pursue the matter through the appropriate dispute resolution process if a fair resolution cannot be reached.

I bought and paid for cooling fan at almost £130.00 on their online website 9 days ago. To this today's date no indication as to when I could expect delivery. As the country is melting under unbearable heat, Costco is taking its sweet time and still processing my order, but of course money is already earning handsome interest in their bank.What a shambolic company, shame on you Costco. If I can, I would cancel the order but you made sure that is not possible. This big giant does not give a toss about poor rating which is a shame really.....

Excellent for grocery bulk buys and…
Excellent for grocery bulk buys and generally good for electrical. Queues at the warehouse can be a bit long but usually process through quite quickly. The on-line warehouse however is like something out of the 1990s. Very slow to load each page making it virtually unusable.

In-store is still better but online is good
Not most intuitive website but never had any issues following a purchase. It is clear that COSTCO is focusing on in-store purchases vs online. Still delivery options buying online are great with good communication.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Bought online membership years ago and didnt realise it kept renewing. I had 42 taken from my bank this year. Thought thats odd, then realised it was costco membership that had gone fron 15 pound to 42. There was no email informing me of the massive price hike. I have tried contacting them to cancel and refund but no one ever answers or calls back having tried multiple times and the online help is useless....for such a big company non existent customer service is appalling. Avoid.
Update. What is the point of every comment getting thank you for feedback when nothing is seemingly acted on. Ive still not got issue resolved.

Terrible online purchase customer care service. There’s never anyone available to pick the call or return them at a later date. My parcel was not delivered and the delivery provider said the item was missing. Costco.UK have taken no actions to either refund or replace the item even after multiple calls.

Exceptional service and customer care
I arrived at the tyre centre of my local COSTCO store (100 South Oak Way, Reading RG2 6UE) with a problem. Recent "heatwave" conditions had caused my nearside front tyre to deteriorate unexpectedly rapidly to the point where it was undriveable. Despite my not having an appointment, the team pulled out all the stops to (i) source a pair of suitable replacements; (ii) fit these, balance and rotate the wheels; and (iii) get me (safely) back on the road all within within a mere 60 minutes. All 3 employees with whom I had contact were courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot praise Jay and his crew enough and not only will I be returning (as and when the need arises) but I would be confident to recommend their services too anyone.

Is non existent,I called yesterday 29/06/26 reference number 20987781 with a query about an item i purchased,waited 30 mins on the phone,I the put it on call back to which it rang once an disconnected,I repeated the process until 5 o’clock the the line closed,I don’t know if there WFH but it is so frustrating coming from a company that was so efficient and on the ball.i can’t even get anybody to return my call,shocking customer service !

Water bottles shortage every year
Been going in for a few days now just for water always selling out it seems there is a pattern every year they never seem to learn from trade patterns staff are not very helpful no one available to answer a simple call to see if stock is in so how many more wasteful journeys do l need to make waste of member ship do not renew card!!!!!

Costco online DO NOT BUY!!! I purchased two months ago, rejected the delivery which ordinarily triggers a refund. They partially refunded (red flag). Instead they have withheld the rest of the refund. I've called 5 times now - latest story is that they need to go back to their supplier in order to fully refund. I have no relationship with their supplier. Costco has values they should live up to.

Didn't receive item. Being made to jump through hoops for a replacement
Ordered a fan costing £89.99 from Costco which was delivered by FedEx and left unattended outside my front door without my authorisation. The parcel was never received.
FedEx confirmed that the parcel had been left outside and advised that any claim must be pursued by Costco as the sender. Despite this, Costco repeatedly asked me to obtain a police crime reference number, even though I have no evidence that a theft took place and can only confirm that I never received the parcel.
I have found the customer service process frustrating and disappointing. I appreciate that investigations are necessary, but I do not feel that the burden of resolving a courier's delivery issue should be placed on the customer.
I hope Costco will now review the matter properly and resolve it fairly.

Usually quite good, this is appalling.
Usually quite good, but this is outrageous. Ordered various goods . Most items delivered except 1. The £500 item. All items shipped the same day. But this item according to dpd has still not been recieved. Call costco to find out why, no one knows. Call back tomorrow. Why dont you call me. Call back.l for the next 5 days. Still nothing. No update. Worst of all, I have had 3 calls from customer service after 8pm sating they are busy and I should call them again the next day?!?!?!? Ive spent 5 hours on the phone, left messages for call backs. No updates, its now 8 days. Can only class this as theft. Time to get a police reference number. Just appalling. Worst customer experience and stollen my money.

⭐ 1 star — DISGRACEFUL treatment of loyal customers.
We have been Costco members for years, spending around £500 every single visit. On 14 June 2026 we came to the Southampton branch, did a massive shop, and then — as Costco themselves encourage — sat down and had lunch at THEIR OWN restaurant. Total time: 3.5 hours.
A few days later, we received a parking FINE through the post.
Apparently Costco quietly introduced a 180-minute time limit TWO MONTHS AGO. No email. No letter. No notification to members. Just a few tiny, barely visible signs hidden around the car park that you'd need a magnifying glass to find.
We went in to sort it out like reasonable people. The customer service staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly RUDE. They point-blank refused to cancel the fine and showed zero empathy or understanding.
Let that sink in: Costco fined us for eating lunch in their own restaurant. They profited from our £500 shop AND our lunch, then had the audacity to penalise us for it.
This is how you treat loyal, long-standing members? Sneaky signage, zero communication, and rude staff when you dare to question it? Absolutely shameful. We are seriously reconsidering our membership. I urge everyone to be aware of this hidden trap before your next visit.

No goods received - Costco online
Terrible service from Costco online, ordered goods a month ago, DPD lied, didn’t attempt delivery! Returned the goods to the shipping company, not Costco. Costco can’t contact the shipping company. Costco no longer responding to emails… no goods… no refund. The stores are great, but I will never buy online again.

I recently rejoined Costco and had a good experience of buying online. But the way I was spoken to today by a woman at their Returns/Membership counter today at Reading was unacceptable.
The only indication as to where customers should queue are 2 signs hanging from the roof. There is nothing at eye level and no lanes are marked out. As a result, I was one of several customers who were confused as to where to get service. It seems I approached the 'wrong' assistant and was rebuked, together with a sarcastic comment.
There is no need to treat customers like this and Trustpilot's summary of the many poor reviews of this firm's customer service suggests that poor training of staff is an issue at Costco.
Costco did not use to be like this. A director needs to get a grip of this problem and maybe instigate some staff training and, if necessary, disciplinary action.

The team were exceptionally careful in fitting tyres on my very expensive rims. Everyone was polite and I will not hesitate to use Costco Watford again for my Porsche.
