For the right products (non-perishable in volume) their prices are good, for food you can always get a hot roast chicken to go and for groups their sandwich trays are freshly made. Wines are excellent... Leggi di più

Almost ruined a birthday
Ordered a personalised cake from Haydock Costco in advance. Was nowhere to be seen on arrival today at designated time. Spoke to bakery staff to be told they didn't have it and had I ordered it - when shown the email they agreed it was ordered but said they didn't have it and were currently completing the final order of the day. Luckily they found a cake to right spec and decoration and personalised it for us. Icing on box got onto my jumper putting it in trolley. No name on box so was queried then approved at till. Then ordered 2 pizzas at the food court, waited ages, order numbers after ours for pizza were called before ours, when I asked server was told it was because there was one printer and it wasn't printing them in order?? Eventually given our order of one cheese one pepperoni... to discover on opening at sons party that we had been given 2 pepperoni (one in a cheese box) much to the disappointment of his friends. Really disappointing visit today, almost ruined my sons birthday.

I am writing this to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding Costco’s abysmal customer service.
As a customer, I expected a reliable line of communication, yet the phone number provided by your company is completely useless. No one answers, no one stands behind the service, and it is impossible to reach a human being for assistance.
Providing a non-functional contact number is a blatant disrespect to your customers' time and trust. A corporation of Costco's size should be ashamed of such terrible service infrastructure.
I demand a prompt explanation and a valid, working method to contact a representative who can actually resolve my issues.

Better than I would have expected
I love Costco. Sure, it is big and American, and the queues can be long at busy times, but the quality to price ratio is generally pretty high and the customer service is good, so I find them much nicer to deal with than most companies.
They never quibble if you need to return something and they often end up substantially cheaper for branded or high quality items. For example, we bought a modular sofa for £1000 less than equivalents which has been absolutely great quality. Likewise our pergola (£900 cheaper), barbecue (£100 cheaper and better quality than competitors), several types of laminate flooring (cheaper, and with better warranty), gym equipment (£400 cheaper), many appliances (better, cheaper, with extended warranty), my glasses (£120 cheaper) and contact lenses (£80 per year cheaper). I could go on.
Their produce is also generally good quality. I particularly rate their coffee, toilet paper, dried fruit, eggs, muesli, pesto, cheese, pizza and "towers of treats" to give as christmas gifts to our employees. Some of the fresh fruit has had issues from time to time, but their returns service is good if something is damaged or goes off rapidly. Their fuel is also much cheaper than in other garages, and their tyre service has been great too. I even like their van rentals, and use them for other tasks, not just when buying oversized items.
There is a wide range of items in store and online, and it is worth checking which is the cheaper way to get large purchases (mainly in store, I find). My only feedback is the website pages load very slowly, which can be frustrating but overall I would recommend them. I've had positive experiences of the stores in Milton Keynes, Sheffield and Derby.
Quality declined??
The quality of some items of meat has declined. Have been a member for nearly 20 years often singing praises especially about the quality of meat,
However today I have been and bought my usual…including lamb and chicken breasts. I did used to buy the frozen chicken breasts for convenience but you stopped doing the plain ones a couple of years ago , but the fresh ones were superb!
For last year I have not been able to buy the amazing lamb steaks I used to get…they have not been available but alternatives were ok and worth the money.
But today I got the tray of chicken breasts…always been a great buy…really plump and tasty and worth the little extra cost.
Of course meat has gone up in price at moment…was expecting that…but when I took them out of package….well they were so thin….looked like one of the old single portions had been sliced horizontally into 2pieces. Must admit I felt short changed.
Not cooked them yet..but not expecting much!
Sainsbury’s ones slightly better size than these.
Perhaps regretting renewing membership.
I have always loved the quality of toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, foil etc so perhaps a big shop for a stock up of household items is the way yo go. And start using local butchers or farm shops, or even Sainsbury’s or M and S for meats.
Will try once more next time I go to see if it was an unfortunate one off. Tho a friend did tell me her daughter is unhappy with cost rises and reduced quality, so maybe it’s not unusual.
Sad…as I loved my visits there…and up till today have never questioned quality.

After several calls and continuing chasing the replacement legs were sent. It is not 12th May but the assembly person never came . Costco customer service is so poor ! Every time we call - just like a robot - they say “we will pass your message to silent night” but never work on resolution
Absolutely disappointed
Manchester store - chaos!
Just been to Manchester store - what a joke. Queues to the back of the shop, tills not staffed but three directing the chaos. Then a second queue to get out of the place. Get a grip Costco people are paying for membership and look at your feedback. I certainly won't be renewing after 30 plus years until you do. Chaos like this is unsafe.

Shameful treatment of a loyal customer
Visited Costco Leicester today 11/05/2026, we normally go to Coventry but just moved from Rugby to Lutterworth as my wife passed away in our house in Rugby suddenly so we decided to move, my card is up for renewal next month so I enquired at help desk about having my wife removed from my account and put my youngest daughter on in her place.
To my absolute amazement I was informed that unfortunately because it’s my daughter and not my spouse they can’t put her on, so do I have to pay for two cards? Yes it’s company policy it has to be a spouse really sorry for your loss but it’s company policy, it works that you pay for both but one card is dormant.
I actually worked for Costco at their hub in Crick in Northamptonshire but I left as I was racially abused as I’m Irish, now I’m being treated wrongly because my wife has passed.
Shame on you Costco your policies suck.

ITS NOT OUR FAULT, and you want us to run around. Costco, you only have to look at the reviews to see how bad you’re getting. Avoid at all cost. We had a similar experience trying to sort out our American fridge freezer. We are now not renewing our membership because you have lost the customer care aspect. 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Horrible and untrustworthy
I bought a Tefal blender grinder in Sept 2025. I took it back on 17/04. The staff member initiated the refund but then advised me as I have not renewed the membership they can’t process the refund. I requested proof of purchase and the staff provided me as I decided to raise the issue directly with Tefal. On 09/05 I decided to renew the membership and return the Tefal to Costco. To my horrible surprise I was told the refund is already done on 17th. I explained what happened only to be told that there is no one to check and it’s on me to check as their system said item is already refunded. In this dead lock situation I checked my bank online. No refund was received . I wasted one 45 min in getting my membership renewed and this refund issue. I wasted told that Kirsty the manager would call me. Instead the staff who served me called to inform my refund issue ready to be collected. The manager had no courtesy to apologise and take ownership instead they were too defensive and over explained their internal process which is of no use to me as a customer. They treat customers as untrustworthy. There is always 2 people at the checkout to ensure all items are paid, trolly need to be behind the till, if this is not all you need to show the receipt at checkout and sometimes they go through the purse or hand bag too. It’s absolutely disgusting especially when all the non business customer's are professionals. But when it comes to refund they are equally careless and irresponsible. How can a company mark an item refunded when it is not refunded and behave as if it is routine and customers time and inconvenience does not matter. They literally treat professionals as thieves double checking shopping and going through their purse. In my eyes ASDA TESCo are million times better. They welcome all and let customers leave in peace. Costco is simply a waste of time and money unless you are a business customer.

Great product and price for an American…
Great product and price for an American fridge/freezer and washing machine. But AWFUL delivery and install service. The company the delivery company they use are a poor reflection on Costco, which has left me not wanting to use Costco again. I paid for installation, which they were not qualified to do, and they took a chunk out of my wooden floor unboxing the fridge. They were very apologetic, took pictures and told me to do the same which I did and shared with Costco. The delivery drivers said I would be able to claim and make good the damage they made. Two weeks into the investigation the delivery company are claiming the damage was already there which is a complete lie! I feel betrayed and taken advantage of! DO NOT purchase anything from Costco that requires installation

Costco Optical Birmingham- very poor service
I visited CostcoOptical in the Birmingham Store on the 01/04/26 and seen a pair of glasses that liked.
I booked in for an eye check and paid for new glasses and frames of £380 on the 10/04/26 . I was informed the glasses will take approx 2 weeks to get ready .
Was happy with the service up till then
4 weeks on and still no glasses . I ve called the store several times 0121 326 3505 for an update and no one picks up the phone.
extremely disappointed with the experience. Never agin will I use Costco Optical . lack of professionalism and poor service.

Don’t buy online from costco online !
Don’t buy online from costco. they are terrible. on both occasions goods have been damaged. the logic company they use are absolutely useless ,rude and unreliable and will cancel on you at last minute. costco customer service for online is also useless and slow on both occasions i have purchased and never keep you updated on anything , only purchase from store would be my advice until they sort this dysfunctional online service.

Very RUDE cashier
Very RUDE cashier, again second time. We even displayed all bar codes as last time, we were yelled at because cashier had to turn items over in trolley to find bar code. Today snapped at because I placed item on belt that she believed should have been left in trolley.
SERIOUSLY Costco, your staff need re- training ...... thats if they have had any !!

When got the one in Liverpool is sad they very cold to people no customer service no customer care the info the staff have no interest or training is ridiculous look like they do us ask a favour to be a client they always give a intimidating look to people not recommended at all or maybe is poor management, new ideas on restaurant good but they still shout for the numbers lol not much easier put a display whit number ??? Called ?? Just ridiculous.

Ripped off 70 pound
So delivery never happened for a 70 pound product. When firstly attempting to get it redelivered they refused saying delivery had already occurred, which it hadnt. Then tried to get refund fobbed off for 30 days and they refused to accept situation. So i was ripped off by them.

If you have a complaint about the customer advisor then Costco's complaint procedure means you have to complain to the person whos the complain is against. The manager sides with their colleague.
You truly know about a company when you have a problem and how they deal with it.
I had a very disappointing experience with Costco customer service.
I contacted them regarding an issue with items received close to their expiry date, but the situation quickly escalated due to the way the advisor handled the call. The advisor (Jaanvi) was dismissive, unhelpful, and at times came across as rude. Instead of assisting, the tone of the conversation made us feel as though we were being treated with suspicion rather than as genuine customers.
There was also confusion around address verification, despite us clearly confirming that both billing and shipping details matched (and being able to evidence this). Rather than offering alternative ways to resolve the issue, the advisor repeatedly dismissed what we were saying.
When we tried to clarify the order number, the advisor refused to engage further without speaking to the account holder, even though no verification had been completed at that stage. This was not clearly explained and added unnecessary frustration.
More concerning was the refusal to log a formal complaint. We were told that the complaint would not be raised, and when we asked to escalate to a manager, this was also denied. I also raised a separate issue about expiry dates, which was dismissed as a “different complaint” and not recorded. The call was then terminated.
The biggest issue here is the lack of a proper complaints process. There is no clear email address or independent route to raise concerns, meaning customers are effectively required to complain to the same channel they are complaining about. That is not a transparent or fair system.
Overall, this experience fell well below the standard expected from a company of this size. I hope Costco reviews both the conduct of this interaction and the structure of its complaints procedure moving forward.

Would have put 0 stars if possible. Quite frankly the delivery service and customer service is appalling. Waited in all day for a scheduled delivery ,watched the tracker of the driver return to the depot without even attempting delivery. Can't contact delivery company and costco customer service can't either. They have no idea what is happening with their own goods. To say its pathetic is an understatement. Been a member for over 15 years and won't be using their online service ever again.

I love and admire Costco for quality…
I love and admire Costco for quality and pricing.
Today, for the first time for years bought a tray of classic sandwiches- they are quite disgraceful:
1. The egg mayo had hardly any egg.
2. The chicken sakad had virtually no chicken.
3. The prawn were mostly mayo and the BLT was woeful when bread separated and absence of filling considered...I am sure that years ago the fillings were generous but standards dropping so much means this supplier should be sacked
