Great experience

Great experience renting from BRL. Always get a prompt response whenever I ask any questions, and give plenty of notice if they need to enter the property for any reason.

Recently, I locked myself out of the house. Despite it being a Sunday, Andy still took the time to meet me at the office and lend me the spare keys to the property! Definitely the best agency I've rented from so far.

Would Highly Recommend

After renting with Bristol Residential for 2 years we we're really happy with the service from them. The service from initial viewing and getting the keys to checking out and returning the deposit was fantastic. Communication was spot on and we were always kept updated about notices and changes regarding the building. Property checks were easy and never felt intrusive. Gemma was our property manager and was friendly and helpful throughout the whole tenancy. Would happily do business with Bristol Residential again in the future. Highly recommended. Thanks!

Andy has been our property manager for…

Andy has been our property manager for the last 4 years at a flat at Wapping Wharf. We only ever had a great experience with him, any issue we brought up was resolved quickly and efficiently. We recently bought a house so we have now moved out of the flat but would recommend Bristol Residential Letting to anyone looking to rent.

I was tenant for 2 years and was well looked after by Emma the entire time. She was very understanding and attentive to requests, and followed through on all of them. The overall Bristol Res Let team was welcoming and great to work with, and I would happily refer anyone to a property managed by them!

Andy is Brilliant

We’ve been looked after by Andy since we moved into our flat 1 year ago. I can safely say we have never had such good letting agents before. He’s been quick to respond to queries, always very respectful and helpful. We’re very luck to live in a brand new flat in a new development so luckily there have very rarely been issues but when our dryer broke, Andy sorted someone to fix it the next day and kept in comms with me until it was sorted. We really appreciate how good they are especially as I feel it’s rare to have professional and friendly letting agents these days!

Great Service

Sunday morning call out

I rang BRL on a Sunday morning. Left a message to say my boiler needed re-pressurising. Andy rang back within 10 minutes. Tried to sort it out over the phone, but unfortunately I was unable to do it myself. Andy arrived within 20 minutes to sort it.

Best letting agency I’ve experienced in Bristol!

I have just left a tenancy with Bristol Res Let and have had a highly positive experience. All estate agents we have interacted with have been incredibly kind and helpful throughout, in particular Aimee, who has always been fast and reliable with dealing with problems in our property and supported us in getting our full deposit back, which we are extremely grateful for. Would definitely use Bristol Residential Letting again and would also highly recommend to friends and family.

Discrimination

This was the first estate agents I went into, there was a gentleman who was incredibly helpful and sent me the details of the only available property via email and told me if im interested to just call them. I went into a few other estate agents and decided to go back, the gentleman wasn’t there however these 2 snobby women were, Amy Forsyth who lied about her name and said her name was Amy shepherd, as well as Amy Garrod who I was originally meant to be speaking to, the second I mentioned I was on benefits and had been signed off due to mental health problems and was currently homeless living in a hotel fleeing domestic violence I was met with the utmost disrespect, being told that although I’d been accepted for the Bristol city council deposit bond scheme (rent in advance and deposit) and although im on both PIP AND universal credit that I “dont earn enough” to rent a £1000pcm property, as I earn £20,988 Annually instead of £30,000. I was also told that they dont accept rent in advance. Luckily I was with my P.A (adult social worker) from Bristol City Council who was there as witness. The gentleman before didn’t mention any of this and neither did the 7 other estate agents I visited, I will be making an official complaint as I feel this is blatant discrimination. Mental health for one is a protected characteristic. During a housing crisis? Putting so many barriers in the way of a 21 year old trying to flee abuse…. Absolutely disgusting. The attitude, arrogance and the way I was spoken too is exactly what is wrong with the system.

Good Afternoon Faith,

I am extremely disappointed to have read your review. To confirm, my name has changed due to personal reasons, I certainly did not lie to you, however I can see how this may have been confusing so I do apologise.

I am sincerely sorry if you feel that we came across in a negative way, that certainly was not my intention. The Bristol City Council Representative asked for more information on the upcoming Renters Rights Bill as none of the other agents you had visited had mentioned that this was coming into effect. We were simply trying to be as informative as we could be regarding how the impending changes could affect your application for a property.

When you mentioned that you were on benefits, I explained that this doesn’t change our process and as long as we can ensure the affordability is met that you would be put forward to the landlord just like any other applicant, whether that person is in receipt of benefits or not. I can assure you that we do not discriminate in any way against anyone who engages with us.

We pre-qualify all applicants before booking in a viewing to ensure we do not waste anyone’s time showing them a property that isn’t right for them or where they may not pass the referencing criteria. We sent a follow up email to you confirming the number you left with us wasn’t working and asked that you call us if you wanted to book a viewing to which we had no response.

If you would still like to see the property then you are more than welcome to call the office and we will book you in for any property that fits your requirements and where we are comfortable you will meet the referencing criteria.
