Russell at the Hemel Hempstead branch was very helpful, from the moment I dropped the car off for its annual service and MOT, until the time I picked it up later in the day. I was kept informed of the progress, including a video of the overall condition of all the important components. Thank you Russell for an efficient and friendly service.

I bought a used Renault Austral from Brayleys Honda Hemel Hempstead and the whole experience since collection has been hugely disappointing.

The car itself is good, but the preparation and aftersales have been nowhere near the standard I expected from a franchised dealer.

Before collection I was told the car would be fully prepared and “perfect”. In reality, it was handed over with the MOT still due, scheduled servicing outstanding and significant damage to several alloy wheels. I raised the issues straight away.

What has been far worse, though, is the way the complaint has been handled.

I have spent well over a month chasing responses, promised calls and agreed actions. I submitted a formal complaint to Brayleys Customer Care and received no acknowledgement. The sales manager proposed a practical resolution, I agreed to it, and then nothing happened. He later suggested I get local quotes for the outstanding work, which I did, and again I was promised a call back. That call never came and the email was ignored.

This has been the consistent pattern throughout: assurances are given, actions are promised, and then I hear nothing unless I chase again.

The response to the cosmetic issues has also been frustrating. I’ve been told the vehicle was priced to reflect its condition, yet the damage was never highlighted to me before purchase and their own pre-sale paperwork recorded the relevant areas as satisfactory.

I’ve tried throughout to be reasonable. I’m not expecting a used car to be perfect, I simply expected the car to be properly prepared, issues to be dealt with fairly, and promises to be followed through.

Instead, what should have been a straightforward resolution has become a prolonged and exhausting process.

The lack of ownership, communication and basic follow-through has been appalling.

I would not buy from Brayleys Honda Hemel Hempstead again and, based on my experience, I cannot recommend them.
