BREACHING THE DATA PROTECTION ACT?

Two years ago I bought an electric shaver from Branshaws. It worked well but failed after 8 months. Branshaws refused to replace it stating that it was only guaranteed for 6 months.

Two months ago I bought another one. This one failed after only one month . I phoned Branshaws and was told to put it in a Jifffy bag and send it back. They said if it was faulty my postage would be refunded with the purchase price. The shaver cost £39.99, my postage was £3.25.

Last week I get an email from Branshaws stating they are refunding £37 with no explanation about the missing £6.24.

I suspected in the past that Branshaws sold off their client's name and addresses to other companies, but could not prove it. Therfore when buying the shaver last July I ticked the boxes on the purchase form declining contact from other suppliers, and kept a screenshot of it. Additionally I put the initials BM after my name so if junk mail arrived with those letters added to my name I could identify the source. To my non-surprise I have already received two mail
shots from firms I have never heard of, addressed to me including the BM letters after my name!

So Branshaws, please sort out your policy of flogging the names/ addresses of your clients as I would imagine your actions contravene the Data Protection Act, make sure I do not get any more junk mail, and refund me the missing £6.24.

I am sorry you’ve had problems with the razor, it is a great razor and well liked with our customers but unfortunately the warranty on your purchase had expired.

Apologies for the confusion over your refund. You should of course receive your full refund of £39.95, plus the return postage you paid of £3.69, making a total of £43.64. if there is any balance owed. I will ensure it is sent to you immediately.

With reference to your address. Other items have been ordered from your address, and several variations of your name and family name have been used, some of those variations do include the initials BM. Just to be thorough, all names listed, and your address, have now been deleted from our database entirely.

Micro hearing devices

Micro hearing devices
I got these hearing devices for my father who is hard of hearing and has trouble keeping up with conversations. He's found them to be absolutely brilliant and so have we! We no longer have to keep repeating ourselves and raising our voices and he now feels like he's able to join in our conversations and not miss out on good times!
He's found them very easy to use and loves how discreet they are. Typical hearing aids are quite large and visible but these ones just sit inside the ear and are hidden nicely.
Battery life is good and they are great value for money.
The customer service was prompt and delivered on time. Would recommend these to anyone who needs some extra help with hearing but doesn't want to spend a fortune.
5 stars all round! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would have left zero stars if…

I would have left zero stars if possible, what a waste of time and money this patio cleaner, the only thing it cleans is it cleans out £7.90 out of your wallet. The cheeky beggars even charge an admin of £2.95 on top of the P & P, DO NOT BUY THIS LOAD OF RUBBISH

Product Useless

I bought the product Miricle Patio Cleaner after i saw your advert and it was completely useless i even tried it neat not diluted on 2 of my patio flags but no effect its a waste of money and i wish to claim a full refund customer number 14921473 order number 211333 date 19/04/2024

I ordered a pair of hear pods from branshaws fast delivery.
This hearing device is fantastic l can so much better and it is so easy to use with one large press button.
Great value and much cheaper than any on the high street

Patio Cleaner

I paid £39.90 for a bottle of patio cleaner from an advert in Sunday Express, with fantastic before & after pictures and money back guarantee. The product is useless an made no difference. I requested a refund together with the dispatch note & photos, only to be told I needed to return the empty bottle or package. This I had recycled. The customer service is a waste of time. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this company’s products from my experience. It is without doubt the worst company for value, quality & customer services. I would avoid them with a barge pole.

Not a 'magic' Patio cleaner.

Seeing an advertisement in The Times I ordered the Magic Patio Cleaner and received it promptly. I made three applications none of which had any effect. I returned the product with photographs showing the failure of the product. With the original cost of postage, Branshaws 'administration fee' and the cost of return I am £15.36 worse off due to a product that did not do the work as it was supposed to. This may comply with the firm's terms and conditions but is not a way to build customer relations. I shall never use the firm again. I applied one star to this review because I could not give zero.

Inundated with begging letters from charities

Received the product (which didnt work) and although we put on order form not to pass name and info to other companies, we have and are inundated with begging letters from charities all mentioning that they were given our name and details by branshaws.

We have written twice and phoned twice and it is still happening.

Firstly, regarding the product that you bought;

Are you aware that we offer a 90-day refund guarantee on all our products? I can see that you are now outside this period however, under the circumstances, we will happily send you a refund. There is no need for you to return the item, a refund will be processed and sent to you in the next few days. Regarding the actual product, many customers have found this item to work very well for them so I would persist with it, it isn’t an overnight fix.

Secondly, the charity letters;

We do work with charities, particularly pre-Christmas, so I apologies that these letters have not been to your liking. We will only pass on customer details if they have opted for us to do so, and our records show that you did opt to receive mailings from third parties. Possibly this was a mistake? I have now corrected this, and in fact removed you from our database entirely, so apart from any mailings that might be in the pipeline, your information will never be passed to a third-party company or charity by us.

My purchase of coat was delivered on time. It was as described in the advert ,it’s very warn when out walking.
The quality is very good colour is very good. I am so pleased I have recommended to friends and family.

Amazing Cozy Coat heated jacket

Amazing Cozy Coat heated jacket, good quality, fits well. Can't believe how fast it heats up and so warm too. Love it. I've bought one for my husband & son as well, perfect for keeping warm at a football watch or out walking the dog.

My elderly mother purchased some briefs and send a cheque, which was cashed immediately. 6 weeks later and she has never received the items.. I cannot get hold of anyone at this company. does anyone have a mobile of the MD or Director or email address... avoid like the plague!

Patio Cleaner - rubbish

I bought their Miracle Patio Cleaner. I followed the instructions precisely and even tried it neat. Result - absolutely useless and expensive - £63.85 for two small bottles. Don't waste your money on this useless product. The only miracle is that the firm isn't taken to trading standards.

On 15th November I received a response to my Trust Pilot review. I wonder if that reflects their service standards? Anyway I have to say they have been very magnanimous and said they would refund the cost. But notwithstanding their explanation my terrace is not that unusual and I did try the product in other places, so I can only conclude that it is a poor product.

Amazingly brilliant for the money…

I ordered a micro ifini hearing aid for my wife as a temporary measure due to a very protracted wait for a hearing aid from the NHS. The hearing aid arrived very quickly. It works really well although the volume control can be a bit fiddly until you get used to it. As her deafness has got rapidly worse, I don't know how she would have got on without the infini hearing aid. In our situation it has been a real gem.

Very pleased with Branshaw's

After reading so many bad reviews I was reluctant to buy a pair of Micro Infini Ear hearing devices.
My experience:
I've emailed them twice and received an answer straight away.
They phoned me a day after placing my order.
I received my goods in under a week.
The purchases work brilliantly, no longer have neighbours asking me to turn the TV down.
I would have no hesitation in ordering again from Branshaws.

August 2021 i ordered a four bladed…

August 2021 i ordered a four bladed shaver, it arrived in good time and worked very well a really good shave. However Thirteen months later the shaver heads have worn and need replacing through ware, on contacting Branshaws with the view of buying the part i'm told they don't do spares. So after thirteen months of use i have to throw this one away and buy another one. I will but NOT from Branshaws, the worst customer services iv'e ever known. DO NOT BUY.

Do not purchase this product

Do not purchase this product. Although the company advise that it’s ok for up to 2 years if the packet is not opened they also state in the “small print “ that it should be used within 90 days. No instructions to this effect on packet. My experience- purchased 12 months ago, packet certainly not opened but when sown 14days ago not a single blade produced. Customer Service Dept. not interested.
Will not use this company again and suggest you don’t

Ini-Ear Lucky Dip

Last year, I enquired about the infini-ear, in-ear hearing aids. I made a point of asking if they could be used on the phone and was assured that they could. So I purchased a pair in July.

I only need the lowest volume setting and can manage very well without a hearing aid but my hearing has age-related upper frequency loss and some loss of clarity.

The good news is that they gave me the help I wanted. That is about as far as good news goes.

They are supposed to give 12-20 hours of use on one battery charge, depending on volume setting. I used only the lowest volume and never got through the day and evening without one or two additional chargings each.

If I tried to use a land-line or mobile phone I always got very loud feedback, preventing me from getting at all close, let alone close enough to use the phone. (I could use them with headphones). I also got a whistle if I turned my head when wearing a (rain) hood.

After about 6 months, later identified as the guarantee period, I started to get lots of problems with the selector buttons and at 10 months one packed up altogether.

I recently purchased another pair as, apart from with phones, they did what I wanted. To my surprise, the second pair are perfectly OK with phones (and hoods)! On full charge, one lasts a few minutes under 12 hours and the other a bit over. No chance of 20 hours.

Branshaws took no notice of my report of these problems with the first pair.

So, in a way I recommend these, as, for me, they gave the help I wanted (at a very good price) but there could well be other problems, perhaps due to poor quality control and it seems pot luck as to whether you get (a) fully functional one(s).

Thank you for your feedback and I’m so glad the Infini Ears have helped you. I can see that you have indeed ordered from us a few times in the last couple of years.

As you have no doubt researched, the InfiniEar fills a well needed gap in the market by offering a relatively low-cost device when compared to the alternatives. Technology for these devices is always improving, and over the last few years we have upgraded our devices several times with improvements in sounds, charging capabilities and we have also made the devices smaller and smaller.

With regard to the whistling sound on your last pair, this is usually due to the volume being turned up too high, however, you have said that the volume was set at its lowest so we would have looked into that issue further for you, and I’m sorry if this was not fully communicated to you when you spoke to customer services. We have a specialist repair team if anything goes wrong with our devices.

Your current pair appear to be performing as they should, albeit with the shorter usage time than expected. So, as a gesture of goodwill, and because of the whistling issues you experienced with the last pair, I will send you an additional pair free of charge in the next few days.

For your information, we are looking to launch another device mid 2024 that will be a further upgrade in all aspects, so keep keep a look out on our website.

Branshaws - an untrustworthy company

I Ordered Hearing devices & they were delivered with a faulty charging plug. I asked for a return label, but Branshaws asked me to return it & ‘said’ they would refund my postage.

I duly returned the faulty item, but only received the refund for the item - Branshaws did not refund my return postage as promised. After many emails & phone calls they still insisted that they had refunded the postage even when I sent proof of my credit card statement; showing the refund of the item only. I had no option but to open a dispute with my credit card company who helped me obtain my refund.

Branshaws are not a company I would trust and I would definitely never buy from them again. Their customer service is abysmal and they are completely untrustworthy.
