Very knowledgeable and professional

From walking into the store to delivery and assembly of my chosen bed the process was flawless. Excellent in store advice from the sales team allowed me to make an informed choice of mattress after using the sleep pro measurement system. I was kept updated on the order progress and delivery throughout. Delivery day was a bonus as the guys were ahead of schedule and contacted me to make sure it was good to arrive early. Before I knew it the bed was assembled and all packing tidied up and removed. Great service and great work all round!

The experience was brilliant from start to finish.
I rang our local store metro centre to enquire about an ottoman bed frame. The lady was extremely helpful, she answered all my questions and left a note on the system to say I would be there the next day.
The next day I called into the store as planned, they were expecting me and had the notes.
I explained I didn’t have a lot of time and the transaction was completed extremely fast and professionally.
I was kept up late with the delivery time, which surprisingly was only a week. The delivery was smooth, the 2 men both called Andy were very very professional & friendly they took care and remove their shoes.
I couldn’t thank the team enough.
We were in such a hurry for a bed frame after a bad experience with another company resulting in two broken beds arriving. So Benson for beds saved us from sleeping on a mattress on the floor for any longer.
The quality of the bed is absolutely unbelievable compared to the quality of the beds from the previous company.
This Elle ottoman is called gimme lemon and it’s definitely not to lemon it’s more of a wheat colour and goes really well with neutral and brown tones.

Our new bed and mattress look and feel fantastic. We had shopped around - but at Bensons, the advice we got in-store, and the price, couldn't be beaten.

From the showroom customer service at Gateshead to the delivery team of Reece & Colin, I can’t fault them. Excellent

After visiting another bed retailer store and not being left alone, went to Bensons where we were able to look around without anyone being constantly there. Was served by Louise in Gateshead store and she was brilliant. Quick delivery and the delivery staff were brilliant too.

Sales staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and were able to provide excellent advice on the best bed for our needs.
Delivery service was very efficient and the delivery men took time to explain the controls on the adjustable bed. All packaging was removed.
Overall an excellent service and we are very satisfied with our purchase.

A great store experience tainted by online discount.

First of all, Paul in the Gateshead Metrocentre branch was fantastic. He really went the extra mile to help me get the bed I wanted at a price I could afford.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the bed and mattress purchased. Exactly as described and the firmness I wanted.

The delivery was fine. A bit early in the day (7am), but assembly completed promptly. Packaging taken away with the driver.

However, the Bensons experience was flawed by an online discount that was available. I'd settled on a purchase thanks to the in-store advice, however, it was just above what I was prepared to pay. Then, I spotted on the website an extra 10% off the mattress I wanted. I thought I would do the honourable thing and call the store in the morning which I duly did. Unfortunately they weren't able to match the online price, and by that point the online discount had vanished. I called the store and explained the situation, and also tried the live chat online, but neither would match the original offer. I'd missed my opportunity and seemingly there was nothing they could do.

In the end I went for a cheaper bed and mattress, which was probably the right decision. But Bensons did themselves out of a more expensive purchase and also did their in-store staff a disservice. There should be more flexibility in these situations from a customer experience perspective. And the website should never undercut their own stores. This is particularly the case when consumers are taking more of a punt with this kind of purchase by buying in store, where we're sacrificing distance selling protections.

For that reason I am giving this a 4 star review rather than 5. That is no reflection on in-store service as that was definitely 5 stars. In the end the price Paul secured for me in-store was better than the online price, albeit on a different configuration to that I would have otherwise purchased.

The salesperson was very polite and had excellent knowledge of his products. He was extremely helpful and knew exactly what would suit my requirements. Very satisried.

This is the second time we have used Bensons for Beds in a matter of a few weeks; first for our own bed and then for our daughter’s bed. We were assisted by Louise who was fantastic, the perfect balance of helpful without feeling chased around the shop or under pressure. She was knowledgeable about the products and nothing was too much trouble for her - swapping a mattress onto the ottoman base that we had chosen to allow us to try it on the actual bed. She was so good that we sought her out in store when we returned to purchase our daughter’s bed and service was exceptional again.
