Fair price and prompt dispatch
I required a variety of decent quality steel rulers and was delighted to find Woodsmiths that had a range of Shinwa Stainless ones in various sizes that seemed fairly priced.
Prior to ordering I did contact them by phone with a query which was answered in a friendly, helpful and proficient manner.
Once ordered they were packed well and dispatched promptly, Fedex caused a small delay but otherwise the order process was excellent.
I would be a happy to order from them again.

Good quality knives
Very nice, good quality knives, easy to use website, fast delivery and item well packaged. There are useful videos on the site, with advice, and the lady I spoke to when I telephoned was friendly, polite and helpful.
Just wish I could find a book aimed at true beginners, which doesn't recommend thousand of pounds worth of equipment, and give impossibly difficult projects, yet claims to be for 'beginners'. Any recommendations welcome.
I will still keep the knife though, as it is so nice.

Hi Lynsey, thank you so much for leaving this review. Sorry for only seeing this now, but I can absolutely make some recommendations that should hopefully hit those requirements:
- Easy Wood Carving for Children by Frank Egholm (please excuse the title, but this is a great book for beginners - regardless of age, and focuses on projects only using limited range of tools such as Mora 120)
- Spoon Carving: From Log to Spoon by Alex Finberg (goes into much more detail than the above and focussed on spoons, but is very comprehensive across the process from log to spoon and the pictures give very good step by step guidance to beginners and also offers lots of thoughts on tools - including budget kits!)

If you LOVE wood and traditional hand woodworking tools, you will LOVE the LOVELY folk at WoodSmith. A REAL bricks and mortar small FAMILY run business in beautiful Whitby North Yorks. When you know your tools you NEED to know WoodSmith. Some of the ABSOLUTE BEST HANDMADE tools ( did he just say HANDMADE, yes I think he did ) IN THE WORLD BAR NONE. So if you value quality, check them out. Tell them Angel sent you !!

3 things stood out with Woodsmith’s: North East UK; family-run business; reasonable price for what appeared to be a quality product.
Received the handles today and they look and feel good. In addition, very nicely packaged in a strong box.
