Reliable and caring pet insurer
I’ve had a very positive experience with Whistle & Wag pet insurance. When I made a claim, it was paid out quickly and without any hassle. They were incredibly sensitive and compassionate when my cat passed away, which made a very difficult time a little easier. They even refunded my last payment promptly. Throughout, their team has been extremely responsive and supportive. I would highly recommend Whistle & Wag to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet insurance.

Excellent product for Pet insurance I have taken out.very affordable with good cover.
Easy online application
Needed to contact Customer service team by email. Fantastic service by the team, very quick responses and queries dealt with efficiently with appropriate information. Was a bit worried there wasn't a telephone contact but with such a speedy email service a phone number not important to me.
Overall exceptional.

Great Service
Great Service! I've unfortunately needed to make two claims in the three years or so since we've had the policy. Each time the service from Whistle & Wag has been excellent with quick responses to any questions. I also appreciate that there is full and clear transparency in the policy documents. Highly recommended.

Would give zero but unable to
Would give zero but unable to, terrible insurers find a reason to dispute claims.Both times I’ve submitted a claim it’s come back with “pre existing condition” or some loop hole that shouldn’t be allowed but somehow is - This time she had to go to the emergency vets its been put down as her ears which is a pre existing condition, even though the vet was unsure and cleaned her ears incase. Take my advice and don’t bother using this company. I should have realised I’d made an error when the vets hadn’t heard of this insurance company. Utter joke

After looking into your case, I can confirm that your pet’s medical history shows the condition began prior to you taking out insurance with us. As is standard across the insurance industry, conditions that are ongoing prior to taking out insurance would be classed as pre-existing.

Vet’s advice: Avoid at all costs
After a small unsuccessful claim my vets claim team requested to review the policy as she had not heard of them. In their view the policies are not fit for purpose and shouldn’t even be legal. You are not covered for any medicine when you get into the small print. I was advised to change as quickly as possible.

To clarify, you are certainly covered for any medicine, diagnostics and treatment administered at the vets.
For take home medication, behavioural treatment and complementary treatment, the Health Booster provides up to £500 of additional cover.
These Boosters were introduced to give our customers more flexibility to tailor their policy to suit their pet’s specific needs.
All Boosters are clearly offered during the quote journey, and you can add, remove, upgrade, or downgrade them at any time during your policy, without any fees.

No direct contact number. Everything is through email.
They try their best to get out of paying for a claim and try to increase your insurance bill during a claim. But will not reduce it if found not in their favour. Not impressed with them thus far

At Whistle & Wag, we offer a unique call-back service, you can simply request a time and date that works best for you, and one of our agents will get in touch. This means you avoid lengthy queues and still receive a personal service.
We also work closely with vets to ensure policy details are accurate. In your case, the date of birth for your pet was updated as the original information was incorrect. This adjustment did affect your premium, as age is a key factor in calculating insurance costs. If any of your pet’s vet information isn’t correct on your policy, please let us know and we’ll update it straight away.
