Loan shark or regular lender, you decide
I am really not sure about the ethics of this business. There was an issue with repaying my loan which was outside my control, I kept the Servicing team informed and on the day of redemption told them that all was agreed and it would be a couple of days late. They charged me a months interest (Nearly £6K)
That's fine as it's in the contract and I suggested delaying the repayment for a month so I wouldn't be paying interest twice. Response was they would start legal action.
They are right, this is the contract but if you do take a loan out with them please be aware that making money is more important than customer service and they will screw you at any opportunity.

Avoid. Changed their min at the 11th hour costing me £32K
Right up until a few days before my house move, West One Secured Loans Ltd provided me with a mortgage Offer (which included a gift from my partner), all documents were signed and witnessed, my partner signed all documents that were presented in relation to her gift, everything in place. Days before the move, West One changes their mind, insisting my partner could not live in the house with me if she were the gift-giver. The solution was to include my partner on a new mortgage which therefore increased my stamp duty bill by £32,000 (we had to go with these and add my partner as we were effectively stuck with them due to the tight timescales of the house move that had otherwise been agreed well in advance) so, we are now locked into them and their unfavourable rates for 5 years. There is also no web-based self-service facility for Domestic Mortgage customers, meaning every question as the the balance of the loan has to be submitted via a contact form and days waited for a response, and statements cost a fortune to supply if you want them more than annually. Avoid.

Quick and efficient
It’s been a smooth ride getting the mortgage in place. Very quick service and they responsed to all requirements and queries raised by my broker to make sure completion was well within required time. Tina Nkay (Residential Completions Team) was very helpful in dealing with queries and following up on things. Very sensitive towards customer, provided top service

5 STARS ISNT ENOUGH
As a secured loan broker we often deal with the quirky mortgages that isn't for everyone. I had a case which was incredibly urgent to repay an expiring bridging loan. I needed £260,000 at 80% loan to value which a lot of lenders don't do. West One literally saved the day here, all credit to Marcus Clinch, Sabrina and Pauline Rylands for being able to put up with the difficulty of this loan and my constant stressing. Well done guys, you don't know what this loan means to my customers.

After everyone said no, this company was outstanding I will 100% recommend. After the application being signed on the Monday the offer was made the Thursday and issued 2 hours later.

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Continuously asked for documents then would wait another couple weeks and ask for even more stupid documents , To then tell me that a power of attorney couldn’t be related to me and that we would have to change it to a stranger, never heard anything so stupid in all my life, Currently trying to get a refund on my application fee back from this scam company. AVOID AVOID AVOID
