Terrible customer service

I have booked interline travel on many occasions with vacations to go. Most recently I booked a 10 day cruise on Princess cruises. I asked to add the Princess Plus and they said they were unable to do this. The very next day I saw the same cruise on Perx and called and they could book the cruise cheaper and they were able to add the package we wanted. VTG has terrible customer service. I've contacted them, including supervisors several times with no resolution.

This site is fantastic

This site is fantastic, without a doubt, the best tool for a Solo Traveller. It is the only place where you can find thousands of Cruises listed in their actual price, no stupid Twin Share BS. It is marvellous what not seeing Single Taxes does when booking Cruises. You can make up your mind without constantly doubling the price and decide if a price is so cheap that it is worth it.

I didn't even get Nickle and Dimmed with extra costs the way the bloody "cheap flight" websites do. I can not understate how rare that is

I booked a Carnival Cruise through them and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Last Minute Unnotified Cancellation

Book a 40th year anniversary trip with VtoG. The representative initially contacted Norwegian Cruise Lines and all seemed to be as planned. About two weeks from travel departure the VtoG rep. was not responding to any of our request for service. No return phone calls or E mails, nothing. We had all the documents needed to proceed on the trip. We finally got in touch with Norwegian after (finally) hours and hours on the phone, They (Norwegian) stated the trip
was cancelled. Our bags were packed, only hours from leaving our home and heading off to the airport. So far out $14,000 U.S. and no one is talking.

Time for a change in travel agents?

We have a good relationship with Vacations to Go through several past cruises. The agents are helpful and the prices and on-board credits have been comparable to or better than booking directly with the cruise lines. However, we recently had cause to review the travel insurance that VTG sold us (Generali) for a trip this summer, and compare it with other coverage available. I was shocked, but unfortunately discovered this too late to cancel: Generali does NOT cover COVID-related costs such as trip cancellation, interruption, delays, etc. Yet, we easily found found other companies that DO cover COVID-related costs, have equal or better benefits in other categories, and offer policies that are about 30% cheaper. VTG is either not willing to do the work to find better coverage for their customers, or they are just picking a policy that generates the most money for them. I haven't decided whether to stop using them completely, or just stop getting travel insurance through them.

Disappointed

While getting a group of friends and family to travel with us to an all inclusive resort, we had a breakdown in communication with our agents. So I found some deals that could be offered to our group and presented it to the travel agents who told us we were all booked through different vendors. That explained why there was a communication issue. Had we known we would be booked by different vendors we would have booked elsewhere. On top of that, we have encountered rude and unprofessional agents, agents overcharging accounts, switching agents, untimely or no responses and unanswered questions and more. It has been a horrific experience that we refuse to ruin our trip and I hope we can all enjoy our trip. I just think it’s unfair that consumers have to pay their hard earned money for terrible service and the agents remain without repercussions. I will say that the manager was professional, but we stopped addressing concerns with him after nearly 5 months of disappointments. I just wish there was a way to receive a refund for all of us to receive the service and promotions we qualified for and deserved.

I missed my dream cruise because of…

I missed my dream cruise because of their incompetence

I found my dream cruise to Iceland and Greenland, which I’ve been waiting for for years, even before Covid, it was on this companies website at a reasonable price.
I rang the company and I was put in touch with a guy called Tom Stansbury. Their offer sounded good, but my wife and I needed a couple of hours to discuss it with the family. Two hours later I rang his extension, left him a voicemail, sent him an email reply, left him a voicemail message later on in the day, no reply.
After the weekend we rang him, and again there was no reply and eventually he called us to say that the Cruise is sold out.
This cruise goes only once a year because of the short summer season in Iceland and Greenland, so I have missed it this year because of Tom’s incompetence. Why did he not reply to my email and voice messages !!!
I will never use this company again

AVOID VACATIONS TO GO AND FUN JET

Had to cancel a trip to Maui due to Hawaii COVID restrictions in May 2021. We purchased the travel voucher insurance. We were told we could book any trip in the future but needed to do so within 12 months of original departure date. When we went to rebook through Vacations to Go we were told we could not book the trip because it wasn’t a FunJet trip. The Vacations to Go site does not identify which packages are FunJet. Bottom Line is DO NOT USE VACATIONS TO GO. Another piece of advise. Check your trip insurance options prior to purchasing anything from Vacations To Go. There insurance only covers reimbursement for the trip whether cash or voucher. Other policies will cover up to 75% cash back but also includes medical, dental, emergency evacuation etc at a fraction of the cash back insurance Vacations to Go offered. Vacations to Go is in bed with FunJet and is probably worse than Vacations to Go. It seems they try to screw the consumer anyway they can.

Good company to book through if from the UK

I have booked 2 cruises through VTG and overall they a good when you consider that they are up to £500pp cheaper than any cruise agency in the UK.

Things to note, if the price you get when calling up isn't what they show on the website, call back again and speak to someone else, I did this 3 times on my first cruise I booked with them.

Check your paperwork, I have had mistakes both times on the paperwork I received after booking my cabin but on both occasions was sorted once I informed them.

Brilliant...Great prices

I really don't recognise the negative reviews. I have sailed twice through VTG and cannot fault their advice and efficient support. If you are available to go with a month or two notice you can get great deals. I had two Cunard cruises 2013 and 2018 at excellent prices, '18 Baltic, 14nts, £140 per night, balcony, 8th deck, solo use. Fabulous.

MUY A DISGUSTO CON VACATIONSTOGO

Por tercera vez compré en VacationsToGo un viaje en crucero: esta vez fué para viajar junto con mi esposa desde Buenos Aires a Venecia en el MSC MUSICA el 25 de marzo 2020.
Con VacationsToGo había ya hecho un crucero en el Caribe con MSC hace años y ultimamente en 2019 saliendo desde Houston (Tx) con CARNIVAL, ambos perfectos.
Conocía el barco MSC MUSICA porque en ese mismo había hecho un muy lindo crucero desde Venecia a Grecia a mitad del año 2018.
Volví a confiar en VacationsToGo y en MSC ya que en las dos veces anteriores no tuve problemas, repito, todo había sido perfecto, todo ok.
Lamentablemente en esta ultima compra, pocos días antes de zarpar el barco desde Buenos Aires el viaje fué cancelado por la empresa MSC CRUISE debido a la pandemia de Covid 19.
Desde VacationsToGo me ofrecieron postergar el viaje para el 2021, primero en el MSC ORCHESTRA y finalmente en el MSC MUSICA con salida desde Buenos Aires el 4/04/2021.

Tuve que cambiar el pasaje aéreo de vuelta desde Venecia a Buenos Aires que yo había comprado por mi parte en Air Europa adaptándome a la nueva fecha de llegada del MSC MUSICA a Venecia y lo pude cambiar sin inconveniente alguno. La aerolinea me permitió el cambio de fecha sin costo por la pandemia de Covid-19, pero no admitirá futuros cambios.

Desde el 3 de junio 2020 estoy tratando de resolver el cambio de barco con VacationsToGo, pero sin éxito aún...
Mi ticket original en el MSC MUSICA (un viaje de 22 noches) me asignaba una cabina externa con balcón, la cabina 10170) y ahora pretenden alojarme en una cabina interna n° 9284 en el MSC SINFONIA (un viaje de 20 noches) ....
Basta entrar en Wikipedia para darse cuenta que el MSC MUSICA es un barco mucho mas moderno y mas confortable que el MSC SINFONIA, pero debo aceptar el cambio de barco pues mi objetivo es viajar en crucero a Venecia y el único barco disponible para el fin del verano sudamericano 2021 es el MSC SINFONIA.
Quiero agregar que este viaje transatlantico ya lo había realizado en 2016 con en el COSTA Pacifica y elegí repetirlo en MSC MUSICA porque el mismo tocaba nuevos y diferentes puertos que el anterior; lamentablemente al tener que viajar en el MSC SINFONIA prácticamente repetiré los mismos puertos que ya conocí con Costa.... No hay otra posibilidad.
Los impuestos pagados en su momento para viajar en el MSC MUSICA me fueron reembolsados el 31 de julio 2020, quedando a mi favor únicamente el valor del ticket ya pagado en 2019 (u$s 2.314) y un nuevo pago de u$s 98 que VacationsToGo me exigió el 24 de junio 2020 para reservar mi cambio en el MSC SINFONIA.
Grande fué mi sorpresa al ver que VacationsToGo pretende cobrarme ahora un saldo de 813 dolares para la reserva #36995683 siendo que para el ticket sin impuestos # 33910640 en el MSC MUSICA yo había pagado un valor ( u$s 2.314) superior al costo de del nuevo viaje en el MSC SINFONIA aún incluyendo impuestos: dicho valor es de u$s 2.111,38
A todas luces es clarísimo que tengo un saldo a mi favor de u$s 2.314 + 98 - 2111,38 = 300,62 y no debo absolutamente pagar ni un dolar mas !
Desde junio 2020 hasta hoy vengo reclamando a VacationsToGo y sin solución aún; me han atendido varias personas en este orden: Rosalba Mira,Thelma Canelas Luna, Renato Saucedo y ultimamente Ivonne Lanzagorta-Gill.
A todos les expliqué mi problema y mágicamente todas estas personas después de intercambiar un par de mails desaparecieron y no contestan ni mails ni llamados telefonicos.....
Tengo entendido que algunos ya no trabajan en VacationsToGo...
Finalmente tomé el toro por las astas y le escribí directamente al CEO de la empresa, el Sr. Alan Fox. Este señor no me contestó, sino que recibí la contestación directamente de parte del Sr.Emerson Hankamer, el que me aseguró que algún gerente de la compañia me llamaría, que tuviera paciencia....y todavía estoy esperando....
La verdad es que me arrepiento de haber contratado el crucero con VacationsToGo: si pudiera volver a cambiar el pasaje aéreo de vuelta sin penalidades, cosa hoy imposible, pediría a VacationsToGo que me devuelvan el dinero y viajaría con Costa, pero no estoy dispuesto a perder el valor del aéreo y si o si deberé viajar en el MSC SINFONIA.
De acuerdo con mi experiencia en VacationsToGo puedo asegurar que la burocracia es extrema; no resuelven los problemas; contestan los mails cuando se les da las ganas o directamente no contestan; no contestan los llamados telefónicos; no son claros en el balance de los pagos, etc, etc.
Espero que esto tenga prontamente un final feliz y que VacationsToGo me haga llegar pronto los tickets y el balance a mi favor acorde a lo pactado y pagado, pero les confieso que a momentos estoy seriamente pensando en contratar un abogado para hacer valer mis derechos porque mas que nunca en este caso "el cliente siempre tiene la razón".

VACATIONSTOGO NEVER MORE

Compramos un crucero de Costa por intermedio de VACATIONSTOGO. No se realizó por el COVID y quedaron en reintegrarnos el dinero en 6o días sin que hayamos tenido noticias en el doble de tiempo. Si alguien me asesora en cómo proceder le agradezco rossialorasarrobahotmail.com

Pagué mis tickets a VACATIONS TO GO para viaje en Costa Cruceros el 6/5/20. ME PROMETIERON el REEMBOLSO del pago por crucero cancelado Costa Magica del 13/06/20. Vencido el plazo de los 90 dias establecidos para su devolución por esta naviera NO HE RECIBIDO AUN EL IMPORTE ABONADO. Ref RESERVA # 26279421

I bought a cruise to Antarctica in VTG. During the period of VTG's offer, the RR class cabin was guaranteed at the price indicated. When I agreed to the price and class of the cabin on the ship and I paid the full price by credit card, I received an email confirming the payment and booking of the cabin on the ship. Unfortunately, the RS cabin was marked in the confirmation, which is much lower class than the RR, which I agreed to. It is also much smaller in size and with worse equipment. To my attention, that there was probably a mistake and that it needs to be corrected, because the final reservation is incompatible with the offer I agreed to and I paid for, I received a negative response from VTG. Both the employee and his boss started shooting and lying to me that the cabin numbers were ultimately allocated by the shipowner. They decided that I was a loser who would not distinguish a cabin number from a cabin class guarantee. They also tell fairy tales that now I can live the hope that the shipowner will, however, give me a better cabin, for which I paid anyway, as he will have them free and have a good mood. These are explicit mockery from the client. Watch out for such simple VTG scams. In addition, VTG authorizes credit cards in a very outdated and archaic way. It does not send a special link to secure payment by credit card via the Internet, it only calls the telephone and requests all credit card details during the telephone conversation, as it was in the first half of the 20th century. This is a very old and dangerous form of payment, which has been banned for years in Europe. You don't know what happens next with your credit card information. They are not encrypted in the computer system like a secure internet payment. Everyone has access to this data to whom the employee will want to pass it on. But VTG's maintenance of such a card payment system is beneficial for VTG because it allows fraud with cabin classes. In the case of a secure link, the general conditions which you agree to and pay for must be provided during payment. For outdated telephone payments, it all depends on the integrity of the VTG employee you don't know. My cabin case is still not resolved by VTG. They also did not offer any compensation for their mistake to the detriment of the client.

DO NOT TRUST VACATION TO GO

I have booked the cruise to Panama Canal trough Vacationtogo.
Upon the booking they have guarantted that in case of prices will change I will get opgrade or other compensation.
I got this guarantee on my boocking confirmation’
Unfortunatly they rejected my requet to get compensation/upgrade
when the price for the same category of cabin fall down.
They informed that the new price is only for new bookings.
Do not trust Vacationtogo.

Disappointed in the customer service.

All I can say is that I’m extremely upset and disappointed with this company during my experience with some issues that arose on my Globus escape to Ireland this past week (Feb 24-March 3) You book trips through travel agencies so that they can help you with the trip and any details/ problems that may arise when problems happen. I was stranded in Ireland during the big snow storm that pretty much shut the country down in the middle of my trip. I emailed Briton my agent on Thursday and got an “I am out of the office” till Monday. I needed her to help with a return flight that was cancelled. I ended up calling the company at least 5 times and spoke with 5 different people (PC, Hampton, dahlia, edward, Abby) and only one had the courtesy to call me back (Edward). I would like to suggest that in the future if the agent is gonna be gone, please leave your customers with 1person who can help you. If your agent can’t help you with problems, then why do I even need to book through one. I felt abandoned in a foreign country trying to navigate flights, transportation, and booking hotel rooms. All I pretty much got is “There’s nothing I can do” over and over. And since my return, there has been no response from the company with at least an apology. In the end I got home worn out.

I won't book a car with them furthermore a cruise...

This place has some of the worst agents and absolutely most horrible customer service around!

Because of a previous review we read on this company we decided to check early and get details on a cruise before booking with them. We had to contact them on 5 different occasions for information.... THREE times we were given THREE different quotes ONTHE SAME CRUISE (even though the actual display price never changed). Two other time they never even replied.

It's clear that they have no standard of service. How can the same company provide 3 different quotes for the same cruise?!?
The agents are have NO form of customer service training. It's like all they see is commission, commission, commission and if you're not ready to book immediately they could care less.

On a previous issue we've been contacted by a Customer Care Manager and even the company CEO. This too was a joke.... the manager kept referring to the wrong cruise line (ie he had no idea which line the ship was from). Then to make matters worse the company CEO said the company never received our email (not knowing we received an auto-reply stating it was successfully received). Don't lie if you know you can't cover your tracks... SMH.

This company is a complete mess and as indicated I won't book a car with them furthermore a cruise!

Cruisedirect & Expedia both offer cruise selection where you can book and see your exact pricing information in real time. No sending off for details and waiting for people to reply.... then having to send off your credit card details... UNPROFESSIONAL !!
