My wife and I wanted to go to Japan with our kids ages 4 and 8. We wanted a custom iternary to visit all the theme parks (Sanrio, Disney, Universal, and Legoland) and activities that were fun for kids (Pokemon Centre, anime stores, and science centre). We worked with Lan Liu and UME to plan the trip April 2025 and went on our trip August 2025. It was nice to have people experienced in Japan help us out and that removed the stress of planning, logistics, and transportation. The private transportation was especially nice with young kids and we could take as long as we wanted at the places we chose. Our trip happened during the Air Canada strike and our flight was delayed by 3 days. Thankfully, Lan allowed us to shift our schedule and changed our flight pickup for free. That helped put out minds at ease during that unexpected strike. During the trip, we used WhatsApp with an e-sim card provided by UME so we could always communicate with the driver, tour guide, and Lan. If you want a stress free custom experience in Japan, I would highly recommend booking though UME and with Lan.

We booked our Asia tour (Singapore, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Phuket) with Lan Liu and it was a great experience. She was extremely helpful from the first contact I had with her. She was always available customizing the tour to our needs and answering all my emails and Whatsapp's. Great job Lan. During the tour, I want to highlight our tour guides, Mr. Kenny Chu in Singapore, Mika in Kuala Lumpur, and Mr. Monchai in Bangkok, who were a real plus. We enjoyed their conversations and information about the cities and attractions we visited. We are already planning our next adventure with UME

I booked a Japan tour with Dan Li. He is very helpful and was very knowledgeable about the area. He was also very easy to talk to and friendly. I also loved all the tour guides who are accommodating and answered all my questions. I definitely recommend UME tours

Very nice trip organized by Eva Wang. Our trip started in Beijing and ended in Shanghai. Everything-flights, trains, hotels, tours was perfectly organized. Ms. Miki in Xian was outstanding. Also I appreciate Ms. Tracy in Beijing and Ms. Nancy in Zhangjiajie. I will recommend this company because everybody was doing their best to make our trip smooth and enjoyable

Bruce & Yukiko were great, amazing services from both of them❤️👍 Hotel is fine but I wished my husband & I can stay in 1 bed but it was small for 2 people. Also, I wished we stayed in the Universal studios hotel for a few days to spend at least 3 days there with the full fast pass & 2 days in the world fair even it would cost us more. Staying so long in the city is not really necessary, same as the farm houses tour & others. We decided to skipped the castle since the kids were tired. But overall was good since we’re able to spend time with both kids. 1 day in world fair & Universal studios were not enough. Seems like those 2 things the kids enjoyed the most.They did not care much about the other places at all this time.

The tour guides and drivers were very accomodating. Everything done at a good pace and willing to shift gears according to the needs of our group of 12.

We travelled to Japan with another couple for two weeks in August 2025 and were impressed with the attention to detail by Amber with UME. After a preliminary itinerary we generated with chat gpt was submitted to her she asked a few questions to help fine tune our experience. Professional at every level. A mix of car and guide, guide only and days on our own worked perfectly for us. Any issues that arose were promptly dealt with. Guides are contractors and sometimes did not communicate well with the travel agency. However, for the most part the guides dealt with any changes quickly and to mutual satisfaction. UME worked well for us and we felt the value was there when compared to other agencies. We definitely wouldn’t hesitate to use UME again!

This was a last minute solo trip for me to Thailand, from Canada and I worked with Zoe. She was over the top! She was so patient with me, she worked with my budget and tailored everything to my liking. It was all last minute but she made it work! Also my tour guide in Bangkok, her name was Ying, she was AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable and smart and very nice. She made me feel very welcomed and I enjoyed my tour with her. She also recommended to me some delicious Thai food! I would definitely use UME travel again in the future, thank you for the great service!❤️

We started working with Phoebe around 5 months ago when we decided we wanted to go to Thailand. It was my wife and I, and our 2 kids, ages 16 and 12. We started with one of their tours, and then modified almost 80% of it to customize for my family. Phoebe was instrumental! always providing insight and intel on every decision. She was incredibly flexible in changing plans, and remembering small details we had asked for.

To top it off, we had a death in the family the day before we were supposed to leave...in 5 days Phoebe completely re-did our itinerary, and was able to re-book everything, including planning an extra 5 days in Thailand!

Her communication throughout the trip was also amazing. I'd want changes here and there, and she was able to do everything on the fly.

The people she worked with, who were our guides and transport were also fantastic and professional.

We plan on returning to South East Asia again soon, and we will definitely use UME, and Phoebe!

We had a fabulous trip to Japan, traveling with our daughter who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair. We had no problems , everything went as planned. All of the guides and drivers we had were prompt, helpful and knowledgeable.
Upon our return we keep letting everyone that asks about our trip that without a doubt we made a great choice and would use Dan and UME travel again without thinking twice!

This is the second time I have used UME and Amber and I have been extremely satisfied both times. This time she put together an itinerary for my client that really enjoyed through Northern Japan. We have loved using UME travel to Thailand! Amber, our travel consultant has been accommodating in every way. Our guide in Bangkok, Ying, was warm, caring, informative and helpful throughout our stay.
Next we were off to Chiang Mai. Our guide for the city was Poli and again he was fantastic. His knowledge of the city, the ancient temples, and everything Thai was exceptional. He was a wonderful conversationalist and was warm and endearing. The city was gorgeous and the elephant tour is one we will never forget. Our guides were beyond our expectations.

For start to finish our first trip to Tokyo was incredible!!! UME travel made it flawless and stress free from our pick up from the airport to our shopping days and sight seeing. I highly recommend them. I'm going back in a few months and will use them again

I’ve been looking forward to visiting Japan for 40 years, and UME Travel helped exceed my hopes for a memorable, exceptional experience. They were flexible and intuitive, and they catered our visit to each area accordingly to our desired experiences in each location. The accommodations were all excellent, and the staff with whom we interacted enhanced every aspect of our experience. I especially appreciated Yukiko in the Kyoto area and Thomas in the Kyushu area—they were thoughtful, intuitive, and very welcoming and supportive. We also had excellent drivers who were arranged through UME Travel, especially Bruce in the Kyoto area and Fujikawa-san in the Kyoto area. Of course, Dan Li was our phenomenal organizer, working out nearly every detail, so we could enjoy our time without worries. When we were in Japan, they addressed any questions that we had promptly and seemed determined to ensure that we had the best experience possible.

We recently got back from an amazing family trip to Japan. It was six of us - 2 couples and 2 teenagers. We organized the entire trip via UME Travel with the amazing help of our agent, Eva Wang. Within the twelve days we were there we traversed different cities/regions, including Tokyo, Hakone, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and Osaka.

Our tour guides were exceptional! David was patient and willing to show us everything we wanted in Tokyo, taking us to historical and cultural sites, shopping and restaurants. Karen was our guide in the Mount Fuji region. She was incredibly kind, fun and informative - giving us her unique perspective. She was from Italy and had originally gone to Japan for 6 months to study the Japanese language. She ended up falling in love with the country and culture, and has now lived there for 6+ years. Yuya is originally from Kobe and was our guide for the last part of our trip near Kyoto and Osaka. He was proud to share with us the history of Japan and the sites we visited, and details of the current societal norms, and we learned so much from him. The guides eased us into the mild culture shock we anticipated and looked forward to – and we all got along effortlessly, and genuinely liked all of them.

Our drivers Kiran and Li were also very kind and engaging, and always punctual – always driving safely and responsibly, and staying with us from morning to night. Kirin also knew a lot about Japan and was very friendly and engaging, and taught us a lot about the culture. And Li was also kind and thoughtful, showing up in the mornings with a box of water bottles, to ensure that we always stayed hydrated in the hot June-July summer weather. And a big thank you to them for also handling our luggage- there was a lot of suitcases, between the six of us!

Our itineraries were packed with city site-seeing, shopping was fun, cultural and historical sites; the food was amazing and the subway system, while at first seemed confusing, actually makes a lot of sense and was extremely clean (especially coming from NYC we were very impressed). The next time we go, getting around will be easy. A big thanks to David for showing us the ropes!!!!

We had a lot of fun taking a Japanese drumming class, having a Kimono experience, and the Sumo wrestling class was more fun than I could have imagined!!!!! My legs are stronger after climbing the stone staircases to see beautiful shrines and temples… And Mount Fuji?!?!?!!??! A BREATHTAKING view!!!! The Ghibli Museum was an unexpected inspiration, because the kids’ (niece and nephew) have been watching the movies for years. Spirited Away is next on the movie list! We let our adrenaline loose at Universal Studios and played with our inner children at Disney Sea! And the food……MMMMMM! Soups, sushi, katsu, wagyu skewers, the hotel breakfasts… All of the hotel accommodations were great! And the breakfasts definitely fueled us to tackle the day.

We will definitely use UME Travel again for our future travel adventures, - we want to go to the Philippines, Thailand, and back to Japan, just to get started – and highly recommend them. Thank you SO much, Eva and team!

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable 11-day tour of Japan—and we owe so much of its success to the incredible team at UME Travel, especially Carrie Tang.
This trip came together at the very last minute—we had only three weeks and absolutely no idea where to begin. That’s when Carrie stepped in like a true travel angel. From the moment we connected, she brought clarity, care, and expert guidance to the planning process. Whether it was building our overall itinerary or accommodating the many little changes I requested along the way, she handled everything promptly and with grace. Despite being based in China, the time difference was never an issue—Carrie was always responsive, attentive, and available.
What really stood out was her professionalism and genuine kindness. There was never any pressure to commit, and every question I had was answered thoroughly and patiently. Booking a major international trip online can be daunting, but working with Carrie felt like chatting with a trusted friend. She made everything feel easy and stress-free.

As for the trip itself—it was magical. In Tokyo and Hakone, we were guided by Karen, and in Kyoto and Osaka, Bianco led the way. Both were phenomenal. Their deep knowledge of Japan’s history and culture, paired with their warm and easygoing personalities, made every moment special. They even made time for a few extra stops beyond our original itinerary, which was such a bonus!
This was truly the trip of a lifetime, and we can’t thank Carrie Tang at UME Travel—and our wonderful guides Karen and Bianco—enough for making it all possible.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our 14-day stay in Thailand. Phoebe did an exceptional job planning our itinerary and was highly responsive to all of our questions throughout the process. We visited three cities—Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket—and found the accommodations to be excellent, the transportation extremely comfortable, and our guides (Ms. A and Anan) both friendly and knowledgeable. I will certainly use Phoebe and UME Travels again for any future trips to Asia.
