This is the second time I have used UME and Amber and I have been extremely satisfied both times. This time she put together an itinerary for my client that really enjoyed through Northern Japan. She was very communicative and listened to all they wanted to see and experience. She provided excellent customer service. My client had a great time.

I found UME Travel on a search engine. In consultation with my daughter, we booked our Philippine trip with UME Travel. They have high reviews and we found no issues at BBB. I am glad we did because our 2 week vacation had been the best we ever had. Thanks, UME!

We have loved using UME travel to Thailand! Amber, our travel consultant has been accommodating in every way. Our guide in Bangkok, Ying, was warm, caring, informative and helpful throughout our stay.
Next we were off to Chiang Mai. Our guide for the city was Poli and again he was fantastic. His knowledge of the city, the ancient temples, and everything Thai was exceptional. He was a wonderful conversationalist and was warm and endearing. The city was gorgeous and the elephant tour is one we will never forget. Our guides were beyond our expectations.

For start to finish our first trip to Tokyo was incredible!!! UME travel made it flawless and stress free from our pick up from the airport to our shopping days and sight seeing. I highly recommend them. I'm going back in a few months and will use them again

I’ve been looking forward to visiting Japan for 40 years, and UME Travel helped exceed my hopes for a memorable, exceptional experience. They were flexible and intuitive, and they catered our visit to each area accordingly to our desired experiences in each location. The accommodations were all excellent, and the staff with whom we interacted enhanced every aspect of our experience. I especially appreciated Yukiko in the Kyoto area and Thomas in the Kyushu area—they were thoughtful, intuitive, and very welcoming and supportive. We also had excellent drivers who were arranged through UME Travel, especially Bruce in the Kyoto area and Fujikawa-san in the Kyoto area. Of course, Dan Li was our phenomenal organizer, working out nearly every detail, so we could enjoy our time without worries. When we were in Japan, they addressed any questions that we had promptly and seemed determined to ensure that we had the best experience possible.

We recently got back from an amazing family trip to Japan. It was six of us - 2 couples and 2 teenagers. We organized the entire trip via UME Travel with the amazing help of our agent, Eva Wang. Within the twelve days we were there we traversed different cities/regions, including Tokyo, Hakone, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and Osaka.

Our tour guides were exceptional! David was patient and willing to show us everything we wanted in Tokyo, taking us to historical and cultural sites, shopping and restaurants. Karen was our guide in the Mount Fuji region. She was incredibly kind, fun and informative - giving us her unique perspective. She was from Italy and had originally gone to Japan for 6 months to study the Japanese language. She ended up falling in love with the country and culture, and has now lived there for 6+ years. Yuya is originally from Kobe and was our guide for the last part of our trip near Kyoto and Osaka. He was proud to share with us the history of Japan and the sites we visited, and details of the current societal norms, and we learned so much from him. The guides eased us into the mild culture shock we anticipated and looked forward to – and we all got along effortlessly, and genuinely liked all of them.

Our drivers Kiran and Li were also very kind and engaging, and always punctual – always driving safely and responsibly, and staying with us from morning to night. Kirin also knew a lot about Japan and was very friendly and engaging, and taught us a lot about the culture. And Li was also kind and thoughtful, showing up in the mornings with a box of water bottles, to ensure that we always stayed hydrated in the hot June-July summer weather. And a big thank you to them for also handling our luggage- there was a lot of suitcases, between the six of us!

Our itineraries were packed with city site-seeing, shopping was fun, cultural and historical sites; the food was amazing and the subway system, while at first seemed confusing, actually makes a lot of sense and was extremely clean (especially coming from NYC we were very impressed). The next time we go, getting around will be easy. A big thanks to David for showing us the ropes!!!!

We had a lot of fun taking a Japanese drumming class, having a Kimono experience, and the Sumo wrestling class was more fun than I could have imagined!!!!! My legs are stronger after climbing the stone staircases to see beautiful shrines and temples… And Mount Fuji?!?!?!!??! A BREATHTAKING view!!!! The Ghibli Museum was an unexpected inspiration, because the kids’ (niece and nephew) have been watching the movies for years. Spirited Away is next on the movie list! We let our adrenaline loose at Universal Studios and played with our inner children at Disney Sea! And the food……MMMMMM! Soups, sushi, katsu, wagyu skewers, the hotel breakfasts… All of the hotel accommodations were great! And the breakfasts definitely fueled us to tackle the day.

We will definitely use UME Travel again for our future travel adventures, - we want to go to the Philippines, Thailand, and back to Japan, just to get started – and highly recommend them. Thank you SO much, Eva and team!

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable 11-day tour of Japan—and we owe so much of its success to the incredible team at UME Travel, especially Carrie Tang.
This trip came together at the very last minute—we had only three weeks and absolutely no idea where to begin. That’s when Carrie stepped in like a true travel angel. From the moment we connected, she brought clarity, care, and expert guidance to the planning process. Whether it was building our overall itinerary or accommodating the many little changes I requested along the way, she handled everything promptly and with grace. Despite being based in China, the time difference was never an issue—Carrie was always responsive, attentive, and available.
What really stood out was her professionalism and genuine kindness. There was never any pressure to commit, and every question I had was answered thoroughly and patiently. Booking a major international trip online can be daunting, but working with Carrie felt like chatting with a trusted friend. She made everything feel easy and stress-free.
Even while we were in Japan, Carrie continued to check in on us throughout every leg of the trip—making sure we had all the details we needed for our drivers, guides, and transitions between cities. Her thoughtful follow-through right up until our return home reflects a rare level of care and commitment, and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
As for the trip itself—it was magical. In Tokyo and Hakone, we were guided by Karen, and in Kyoto and Osaka, Bianco led the way. Both were phenomenal. Their deep knowledge of Japan’s history and culture, paired with their warm and easygoing personalities, made every moment special. They even made time for a few extra stops beyond our original itinerary, which was such a bonus!
This was truly the trip of a lifetime, and we can’t thank Carrie Tang at UME Travel—and our wonderful guides Karen and Bianco—enough for making it all possible.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our 14-day stay in Thailand. Phoebe did an exceptional job planning our itinerary and was highly responsive to all of our questions throughout the process. We visited three cities—Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket—and found the accommodations to be excellent, the transportation extremely comfortable, and our guides (Ms. A and Anan) both friendly and knowledgeable. I will certainly use Phoebe and UME Travels again for any future trips to Asia.

My family and I were extremely satisfied with our Bangkok/Phuket tour tailored made to our requirements by Phoebe. Except for the adjustment we requested regarding our accommodation in Bangkok, our tour exceeded our expectations.
We also appreciated Phoebe’s efficient and timely assistance in handling our last minute changes to our tour. Phoebe did an exceptional job. Thank you Phoebe!

The trip itself was incredible, they were very helpful thruout the scheduling process and when we got to Japan they were very flexible! Shout out to Dan Li our agent for helping with this process, Bianco and David our guides were phenomenal!

It was wonderful, exceeding expectations, so much so let me know if you guys need any recommendations also good chance that we will be coming back for another Trip. From the moment I reach Japan to every attraction, was catered to, from pick up from the airport to the private tour guide, all of it was amazing. Highly recommended.

Lan Liu planned the most fun and memorable vacation to Japan. It was truly a once in a lifetime trip and she did and excellent job at customizing the trip as well as managing our travel across Japan. I will highly recommend to anyone for future travels.

Carrie Tang, UME Travels best at your service! Carrie answered night and day at a moments notice. I told her my dates of travel and she planned my whole trip for me. My trip to Japan was absolutely outstanding with even the smallest details figured out. Her communication was stellar and the itinerary. I got 10 days before my trip was very self-explanatory. I would highly recommend Carrie Tang to plan your next trip to Japan.

I can't speak highly enough of Amber at Ume Travel. From my first contact with her, she was professional and put together a custom tour to Japan based on our wish list of places to visit and activities to do. She was attentive, super quick, and had great follow up as it took us several months to book after we received her custom travel itinerary. Travel was well communicated and all plans , transportation, and tickets were easily accessed. Our 2 week tour really went without any problems and issues. The English speaking guides and drivers were personable and very open to providing the best experience for our family. Hotel reservations were in good , centrally located locations for easy restaurant, shopping and train access. I would not hesitate to call on Amber and Ume travel again for future travel plans. :):)

I would like to thank UME and Zoe Huang for arranging a wonderful 14 Day vacation for me and two (2) of my friends, Caryn Northan and Carolyn Collins in Bangkok and Phuket Thailand from May 31-June 13, 2025.

Zoe created an awesome itinerary for us. Having this itinerary allowed us to enjoy ourselves stress free. The trip was amazing! She checked in on us to ensure that everything went smoothly and according to our itinerary.

We felt safe... in good capable hands when visiting this country for the first time from start to finish. The cost made me hesitate at first as I thought it was overpriced. However, seeing that Zoe and her team were very responsive to my questions, concerns, and requested activities, made me realize that the cost well worth it.

We were supplied with our own personal tour guide (Tanny) and our own personal driver. They were with us on every event on our trip. They were pleasant, knowledgeable, flexible and amenable to adjust start times for some of our tours to allow us to sleep in a little longer and or to eat breakfast.

Our personal Van was modern, clean and comfortable. The Van even had free Wi-Fi. Our Tour Guide and driver always had water and or other beverages for us as it was very hot when we were there. They even provided us with Rain Ponchos because we were there during the beginning of the rainy season. They provided moist disposal hand towels for us to use to cool us off after walking in the heat. They were always punctual.

Zoe even selected special waterfront venues for the Birthday celebrations for Caryn (June 4) and Carolyn (June 6) which made their Birthday celebrations in Bangkok very special. She even had a Birthday Cake made and presented to the both of them jointly, from UME, which we were able to share with our hotel staff, who thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated it.

UME through Zoe made an itinerary that was just right for us, and she went the extra mile in helping us secure excess baggage allowance for our flight from Bangkok to Phuket because the airline baggage allowance was reduced and it would have cost us a lot more money to buy the extra baggage allowance if we had done it ourselves.

I have traveled around the world for over 40 years, and I had never used or paid for a personal travel service liked UME. Now, I will never travel to a foreign country without considering this option.

The itinerary created by UME and Zoe has created memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.

UME Travel was a wonder to work with and they exceeded our expectations with our trip. We were a group of 9 people traveling to Japan and they consistently worked to accommodate our needs and answer any questions or issues we might have had. Their drivers and guides were all incredibly helpful and welcoming and the hotels they were able to provide us with were also top notch. Steven Hu, our trip coordinator, took care of so much of the planning for us and he did not disappoint in any way, allowing us to focus on enjoying our trip! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for an amazing travel experience!
