We got to visit exactly what we wanted to see with enough time to relax and enjoy each place. The tour guide was excellent. The hotel was adequate but one gripe would be having to pre-order our evening meals so far in advance. It did cause a bit of confusion otherwise a great holiday.

Recently back from Cape Town, Garden Route and Safari. A truely fabulous and memorable trip. This is our 5th trip with TD and the guides just keep getting better. Nicolette our guide was superb and completely passionate about South Africa. She ensured that everyone in the group had the best experience possible. Highly recommend this package. We were there in SA winter with mixed weather, absolutely no problem to our Irish group.

We had a very enjoyable trip to South Africa in June .The Travel Department were excellent throughout the entire process .Our local rep Nicolette was brilliant .She was so attentive and made sure that our trip went without a hitch .Our driver Sivu was very punctual and a safe driver .The Safari trip was unforgettable. Our guide Trust lived up to his name on more than one occasion ! He went out of his way to make sure that we saw the Big 5 and more .There were 14 travellers in our group .They contributed to many of the happy memories that we have of our trip . We would recommend this trip and The Travel Department highly .

A fabulous week in Sorrento looked after by the wonderful Cinzia. We love the Travel Department and will be booking again next year. The Sorrento, Amalfi coast and Pompeii holiday was stunning. We felt we had seen so much in a week while still enjoying down time on our rest days. If you’re looking for want a great sightseeing holiday without any stress you couldn’t go wrong with the Travel Department

A most enjoyable trip to Cape Town, Garden route and Safari. Nicolette our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and informative and looked after the group so well. The highlight was the game reserve where we managed seeing the big 5. A memorable trip which I would highly recommend.

Wonderful organisation for world wide travel. Literally just book, pack and go. Every detail is sorted so no online bookings, finding flights, accommodation, tours, trains connections etc. are eliminated, stress free. I would highly recommend these holidays.

Recently experienced TD as an unreliable company. Very disappointing because I’ve been a loyal customer for 25 yrs. They cancelled two booked trips - Vietnam and Croatia (autumn 2026) and for my trip to Slovenia (Spring 2026) they firstly changed trip dates and then also changed the destination airport to an airport 4 hours away instead of the original local airport, which made the short break much much shorter at the intended destination. So TD had caused major disruptions to my three booked holidays in 2026.
All I received from TD was a “sorry” with no explanation, other than “operational reasons” and that it’s in their T&Cs to cancel or change.
I’m extremely reluctant to book another holiday with them based on my 3 recent holiday experiences in 2026, their unreliability and customer service. This is how to lose customers fast. Real shame.
In reply to TD response: Three holiday disruptions in less than 6months is excessive. TD advertise many dates to a particular destination and TD staff have said to me on phone when TD can’t find enough customers TD just cancels the trip. Perhaps advertise less dates options so that the ones that ARE advertised are more likely to actually proceed? Shame TD customer appreciation has deteriorated as the company has matured.

Location of hotel was wonderful and the trips were great. The only problem was the food in the hotel Moderno. On arrival night a dinner was included chicken milanese but where was the chicken???breakfast also inadequate
I also did not understand why we had three guides for a week.

more free time ( which was probably optional anyway but not made clear at the time) at the tearto Taurmina would have been great, and bus tour of Vulvano island included, would have made the whole tour excellent. Over all very good with a great guide !

Holiday very well organised and the tour guide was excellent. The area was absolutely beautiful with so many beautiful things to see and do.
The breakfast at the hotel was delicious however I feel there could have been better choices for evening meals.

Travel Department are a great company with a long established reputation for great trips. You get to meet with a group of like minded people who generally are very open to meeting with others. The tours are usually spot on and visit interesting places. The guides are usually outstanding and mix historical information with storytelling. We’re looking forward to going again

We had a wonderful week in Sorrento.
Hotel Ascot is perfectly positioned to enjoy Sorrento. The Hotel was very clean, well run and the staff very helpful and friendly. However the two meals we had there as part of the holiday package could only be described as fair.
Our transfers were on very clean buses which were very punctual and comfortable to travel in.
We enjoyed the excursions, however the crowds in Positana and Amalfi made it very difficult to explore, but it is July.
Our tour guide Cinzia Annunziata, was excellent. She was always good humoured and helpful.

Every little detail was worked out, we loved it.

We have booked 3 holidays so far with the Travel Department. Booking is very efficient, communication before holiday is excellent. Accommodation, tours etc are always well organised.

Fjords of Norway including Bergen, Flam & Oslo. A wonderful holiday from beginning to end. The itinerary involved travel from west to east with four hotels, coach, boat and rail journeys, but everything went smoothly thanks to our excellent guide Vidar. Our drivers handled the sometimes difficult roads with great professionalism and kept us safe. Our hotel in Loftus was nothing short of spectacular with jaw dropping views. Norway is beautiful. Our single minor quibble was that the walking tour of Oslo was a little too long at three hours. However, this wasn’t helped by unusually hot weather in the city that day. We had a great group of fellow travellers and enjoyed every minute of this holiday.
