Lowestoft Horrendous
On 3rd July 2025 I went out with the intention of buying a new car not too sure which I was going to purchase so I went to all the dealers in the area but I whittled it down in the end to a Toyota Aygo (I had an Aygo to trade in) or a Hyundai i10, I looked at an i10 last year in Mangrove green, but put off my purchase until this year. I also liked the Aygo but the range of colours they had was not appealing to me. After spending the whole day looking at cars and getting a valuation on my Aygo with happy outgoing friendly sales reps, my last cars to look at was at Hyundai Lowestoft and they still had the i10 in Mangrove green this is where I met Bethany Marshall I told her I wanted to buy when the 75 reg start as it was getting closer to September but she told me she could probably get a good deal on a 25 reg. She said she would e-mail me the details with the deals. When I got back to my car my Mother was with me and I said I was not impressed with Bethany as she showed no enthusiasm at all (I’m surprised she actually sells cars) but I bypassed that because I thought if she came up with a good deal I’d be happy to talk to her. On the 10th July 2025 I still had not heard from Bethany Marshall (no e-mail or phone call) so I had my decision to buy an i10 so I phoned her and said I still had not received her e-mail so she said she would send the e-mail immediately and phone me back within 5 minutes. 1 hour later she still had not called and I had not received any e-mails. I thought I cannot wait any longer for her to call me back as I had various things to sort out, so I phoned Hyundai in Norwich I spoke to Craig Anderson who was the usual friendly sales person he emailed me within ½ hour from the time of our telephone conversation. Bethany Marshall finally phoned well over 2 hours from the time I spoke to her but I still had not received an email from her, I put the phone down as I did not want to deal with her now.
I had my Hyundai i10 delivered on 30.7.25. by Craig Anderson (who was superb from start to finish), the previous day I had a phone call from Thurlow Nunn asking me about my experience with my purchase and giving a rating from out of 10, I gave Bethany Marshall Lowestoft 0 out of 10 and as far as I’m concerned she should not be selling cars as she is the worst Sales rep I have ever dealt with and Craig Anderson Norwich was given 10 out of 10 because of his efficiency.
I also received 2 voicemail messages from Gary Hedge from Hyundai Lowestoft stating he wanted to rectify matters I phoned him back on 30.7.25. he said he wanted to sort the matter out but I told him my car had been delivered from Norwich that day and Bethany Marshall was absolutely awful he came up with the excuse that she probably was dealing with personal issues when she spoke to me what an absolutely ridiculous and poor excuse for her uselessness if that was the case for over a week perhaps the management should have recognized she should not have been at work or put her into another role. She either wanted to sell me a car or not.
I hope anyone who goes to Lings in the future if they have to deal with Bethany Marshall hopefully she’s not having any PERSONAL ISSUES in her life.

Awful terrible avoid at all costs
Do no use or trust this company my wife bought from these and has had problems after problems.the customer service after sales is appalling.even contacted the managing director who couldn't give a toss.
This has affected my wifes mental health big time,all over their terrible treatment of her

A very disappointing experience
As an MG driver and Thurlow Nunn , Kings Lynn being my local Main dealer, i always book my car in and have my servicing done with them. I have never had an issue with their service department, my bad experience lies with the sales team.
I am a company car driver and so with my new car on the horizon I booked in a test drive for the MG IM6 with Thurlow Nunn, Kings Lynn.
30 minutes before the test drive was due I had a phone call from their sales team enquiring how was i purchasing the car and what model. When I said I was a company car driver, they cancelled the test drive and said it was not their policy to allow company car test drives and I would need to arrange through my lease company. I explained the lease company does not have cars to test and that surely as a representative of a Global brand like MG, they should be providing access to potential customers no matter how the vehicle is purchased.
Its like walking into DFS and being told you cannot sit on any settee's unless you are buying them from their branch. This sort of business model is insane and extremely short sited giving off a "We only care about commission" vibe.
I contact another dealer in Wisbech called WH Brand and they told me it is not an MG policy, its a dealer policy. They said as a company car driver I am free to book a test drive of any of their vehicles and they provide the same level of service regardless of if they think it will result in a sale or not.
Based on todays experience if nothing else, Thurlow Nunn have lost my service business now and Brands have gained it.
For what claims to be a Family run business they are sadly driven by profit and not by customer service.

I was buying remotely, I relied heavily on the trust and integrity of the business to do this. They delivered precisely what I wanted, delivered the vehilce to my door, even supplied private plates to fit later. Even though I live in the midlands, the Thurlow Nunn name was known to me, and it has a long standing reputation in my professional field. A good business to deal with.

Recently purchased a car from Thurlow nunn.They tried to handover with only 1 key told them if it didn't come with a spare key then the car would be staying with them i was told I'd have a 2nd key ordered and be with me in about a week but never heard anything from them it was me who did all the chasing also very bad communication I felt nobody was listening told the young person who I was dealing with i wished I'd never seen or heard of them.... will never deal with them again

Honestly one of the worst companies i have ever purchased a car from. I paid in full for a 2016 I40 on August the 7th and it has been back 3 times now for work. First time was for a respray on terrible paint job they had done previously. After that i had an engine management light come on which is for water in the fuel filter. I had the car plugged in before it went back to TN and was told it was a sensor that needed replacing. TN replaced the fuel filter even though i said i had it plugged in previously. The light then came back on the next day and put the car into limp mode. The car is now back with them and i have been advised that the bit they need could be months so i am in a courtesy car for that long with £1000 excess!! I am now trying to get a refund for the car but as usual communication is awful and nobody seems to have a clue how to do anything. I strongly suspect that the "fitters" are pretty much close to useless.

And with sales staff who act in the manner these unprofessional adolescents do I'm surprised they are even still in business
After seeing what goes on here and how they mislead customers I will ensure to inform everyone I come into contact with to avoid the headache of dealing with them
There is no excuse for the way they sell cars that are more dodgy than a backstreet trader with warranty that isn't worth having
The health check they talk about is disgraceful.
I've had a car off their ramps straight onto my usually garages ramps and the things they try to say need sorting actually do not
Just be prepared to be ripped off at this garage
Weather buying or just servicing they will try to rob you someway

The female manager refused to help a customer after Thier service department failed to do Thier job
Tom has no idea of the companies complaint procedure
And all because the insignia was recalled in the first place hence it was even anywhere near these incompetent excuses for car service
I also overheard 2 sales men laughing about a used car they had sold being in very poor condition but using more colourful language
It's about the worst forecourt I've ever been on

So once I finally got my car back
Their health check report came back fully green no issues
This I know to be false as I have 4 issues that is to be sorted when it goes to my garage for service
My garage found 15 red markers off the same form these guys claim to follow
The health point check should not be trusted here I have proof of the report they gave me and the report my garage done on the day I received it back
I'm in touch with Vauxhall UK about this major breach of health and safety and as soon as the motoring ombudsman reopens after the update then I will be going straight to them to

Helpful sales staff, however...
Helpful sales staff, but would not recommend buying a car from them without seeing it and test driving.
They sent a video, showing all the good points.
No mention of the fact the passenger window control doesn't work, the passenger door card is covered in glue. No showing of the big scratch on the wing mirror, the paint chip down to the metal on the back.
Having had the car a month, hardly any miles driven, it now has a very annoying rattle and has already needed new rear brake pads.
Had I known all these faults (none of which are covered under their limited warranty) I would not have purchased the car.
Lesson learned I guess!

Totally ignored!
Although we have given a good review at the time of purchase which was end of last year we wanted to say that one thing has really disappointed. We had an issue which was not and never sorted. We wrote to all management via email (we know received because had an immediate “out of office” reply. ). We never had ONE reply! Just an acknowledgement would have been nice. Very poor!!

Awful company
We purchased a vauxhall mokka from Norwich Branch. There was a hidden arrangement fee of £99, still not entirely sure what that was for but found it a bit sneaky on top of everything else we were paying. Car had a bad dent on front bumper which we were told would be sorted before we picked it up. Picked it up the following week, all seemed fine. Got the car home and realised the front left light wasn't securely fitted in. Spoke to Norwich branch and were told we could take it to Dereham branch for them to sort it as it was our local garage. We did this, got a courtesy car whilst they were fixing it. On collecting the car, my husband noticed the light had been sorted but the bumper was badly cracked where they had apparently prized the bumper off which had been glued on at the norwich branch. I have photos to prove this. Obviously he was pretty disgusted by this as clearly a botch job was done rather than sorting it properly. Noone had told him about the damage to bumper on collecting either. After speaking to reception he was told dereham did what was asked of them and to take it up with Norwich. After speaking to Norwich branch we did eventually get told we could take it in for a brand new bumper to be fitted which was should have been done in the first place. As we live in Dereham its been quite stressful to keep getting to norwich and back and with us both working and being half term its been alot of changing our work shifts around and sorting out childcare. Plus this is our only car. Eventually got it booked in to be done two months after purchasing car! Only to be told we would have to pay £20 for a courtesy car for the day whilst it was being fixed!!! Disgusted is an understatement as the undue was never pur fault it was a botched job!! My husband paid it just to make sure we got car sorted and it didnt continue to be an ongoing issue. Ended up that he only drove it 8miles and had it for a total of 8hrs. The bumper is now fixed but the last few months have been a nightmare with having to get back and forth to get it sorted and the amount of petrol we've had to pay out to do this is ridiculous. Would never use them again. To respond to Thurlow Nunn's comment, no a Manager never got in contact with me even after numerous complaints.

Motability customers, steer clear.
My Dad has a Motability car, i.e. he is disabled, and there are very limited disabled spaces available here. Actually, there are very limited spaces full stop. They don't offer a collection/delivery service for Motability customers, so the least they could provide would be spaces near to the entrance. Whilst he was waiting for his car to be serviced, another disabled person was told their car was ready. She asked, is it where I left it? She was told 'only if that space was clear'. At that point she said 'you'd better go and get it for me then'. He is still waiting for his service to be done at this point but woe betide anyone telling him to go and find it, Shocking service for disabled customers

Avoid buying a used car from Thurlow…
Avoid buying a used car from Thurlow Nunn Lowerstoft. Unless you have it fully inspected by an independent mechanic. (RAC, AA, etc)
I made the mistake of buying a used car without an independent inspection to my cost.
I collected the car (VW Sharan 2020 with 19,119 miles only) on driving 70 miles home I noticed a judder when braking. I decided for peace of mind to have the car serviced and inspected for any braking issues. I was quite prepared to pay for the service and inspection. On inspecting the braking system by a garage I trust and have used for over 30 years I was informed that all the discs and pads had to be replaced along with 2 rear brake hoses. Also the front wishbone bushes needed replacing. I authorised the work to be carried out as I often take my grandchildren in the car and need the car to be 100% safe. Another small issue was the puncture repair liquid. It was out of date. Wouldn’t you think that their qualified technician would have noticed? Along with everything else they conveniently didn’t.
I know I didn’t follow the correct procedure and should have contacted Thurlow Nunn first as per their T&C but I couldn’t wait so I authorised the repairs to be done. But my gripe is the repairs should have been done on collection of the vehicle. There was obviously a problem with the brakes as I was experiencing a bad judder which has now been resolved and the braking is now perfect since the repairs were carried out.
After contacting Thurlow Nunn to see if they were prepared to help with the cost. I promptly got my marching orders and was declined any reimbursement. They told me they had inspected the car and their qualified technician had given it the all clear. Sadly this wasn’t the case as I experienced a problem while braking.
It’s a pity they didn’t put as much effort in making a £21.000 car road worthy as they have in washing their hands of any responsibility. I wouldn’t ever buy another car from this dealership and would not recommend anyone else to either.
I hate leaving bad review but hopefully this might help anyone else thinking of purchasing a used car from Thurlow Nunn to think very carefully and have it inspected first.
This is an expensive lesson learned on my part.

Luton branch are dishonest. Bought a car online and it was missing the boot floor. Was urged to accept delivery and they would send afterwards. Got on well with the salesman Shazan, but ultimately he started to avoid me and didn't return my calls/emails. When I escalated to the Sales Manager (AJ) he was aggressive and rude, but assured me he would sort it, but didn't. After months of chasing gave up and bought one on eBay. Sharks, avoid
