For the knife that I have bought, I am not impressed by it in reality compared to the photos the company advertised online. Those ripple or patterns on the knife is not so significant and obvious. If I want to buy a knife again, I will probably find another company instead

Placed order on 20th November as at 10th December still no clue as to when I will receive my purchase.
Have contacted customer service numerous times for an update to be told item is in transit and will be delivered shortly. - Royal mail link shows they are yet to receive the item.
Knifebase refuse to give me a refund as they claim the item is in transit and so it goes on and on.
Not sure where these 5 star reviews are coming from I dont know anyone that would be happy with waiting 3 weeks for even an ETA on delivery.

Never received order - after a week I could see it on the Shop App and then 2 weeks later it was in the same place so I reached out and they mentioned Black Friday delivery delays. I assumed that was correct but now I know different. It’s been another week and the Shop App no longer has any delivery details showing of this product. The other reviews thoroughly explain this is a disgraceful company that doesn’t assist their costumers, doesn’t refund even when (we all know) their product will never arrive, and apparently ranks up their temu prices by merely inscribing their name on the blade. If I get my order in the next week I will delete this. If not, I suspect there will be many more bad reviews on many more websites.

If I could I would give it zero stars. I “purchased” a knife on 4/11- it never arrived- I emailed for advise on delivery & was constantly told it will be later in the week. I have asked for a refund…….. low & behold that’s not happened yet either. I am now taking this further & going to claim my money back.
AVOID - check back on the reviews- I’m not the only person this has happened to!!! Be warned!

I purchased a Kiritsuke knife from theknifebase.com because it was advertised as a high-quality Damascus-patterned blade. While I don’t have an issue buying products made in China, I have an issue with misleading descriptions and inflated pricing.

The knife I received was not a Damascus-patterned blade as claimed. It’s a simple, mass-produced knife that doesn’t match the description or justify the premium price tag. After some research, I found the same knife available on Alibaba for a fraction of the cost, making the markup feel excessive and unfair.

The knife functions fine, but it’s not what I paid for or expected based on the description. I wouldn't feel as disappointed if the company had been transparent about the product's true origin and characteristics.

I hope the company revisits its marketing practices to provide honest descriptions. If you are considering buying from them, make sure you research carefully to avoid overpaying for a misrepresented product.

After some research, I found the same knife listed on Alibaba at a fraction of the price. This company is rebranding and selling it at a 300% markup under the guise of premium craftsmanship. The false advertising is incredibly disappointing and deceptive.

While the knife itself is functional, it does not justify the bloated price or the misleading marketing. If I had known the truth about its origins and quality, I would have never made the purchase.

I urge potential buyers to do thorough research before purchasing. This company trades on false claims and inflated pricing. Save your money and look elsewhere for authentic Japanese craftsmanship

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. I purchased knives from them 20 days ago, and the order still hasn’t been shipped. Customer support is completely unhelpful and avoids giving a clear answer about when the order will be delivered, constantly pushing the timeline further. I requested a refund since the knives were supposed to be a gift for my partner, but they refused, saying I can only cancel after I receive the items—without being able to tell me when that will be. It’s beyond frustrating. If I’d known they couldn’t deliver, I would have ordered elsewhere. This doesn’t seem like a legitimate business; how can a normal company refuse to cancel an order or provide basic delivery information? Stay away!

Horrible customer service - clear lack of communication. Tracking email does not work. Really feels like some of the positive reviews on here are either for a different company or are fake - this does not seem like a genuine site.

Honestly, this knife could be directly sent from alibaba, not costing more than 15$.
Shipping were over one month from ordering and the images provided does not match the actual product you get. On the side of the knife the company choose to engrave the knife base logo, which clashes completely with the Japanese vibe I had hoped for. Also the sculpting of the blade does not seem to add up to the images. And don’t get me started on the packaging, cheap cheap cheap- All in all, I wish I hadn’t purchased this knife, it does not provide even close to the value I offered on it. Do not recommend!

Delivered 2 weeks after the promised date. They stopped responding to my emails. I had to ask my bank for a chargeback. After the bank got in touch, they said I could keep the item, and they wouldn't reply to the bank claim as they give you credit once you raise a chargeback. Guess what? They told the bank the product was delivered, and now the bank will take the money back. I would avoid these scammers. If you are not from Germany, I would not buy the products, as returning them might cost you 3x more.
RE TO THEIRS REPLY: I had to fight first for my money withe my bank for about 1 month and then for returning the product. Took 2 months with the help of my bank. The only reason I ended with the product was because on both scenarios you were lying to my bank and I was offering proof that you were lying. Shame of you. Products are rubbish anyway.

With my first order everything was great, knife was of good quality and shipment time was decent. With my second order this was not the case at all… I have been waiting for over a month on my order and everytime I send an email questioning where mh order is, I get an automated reply with no usefull information…

Abysmal quality - the knives were completely blunt when they arrived, and the steel is cheap, I took them to a company that specializes in sharpening knives they commented that the steel is rubbish. DO NOT BUY this crowd are scammers.

Customer service reached me in an attempt to send me better blades but when I received them they were equally as bad. A full refund would only make this experience more bearable.

I ended up refunding my knife after I found out the knife base's stock is ordered directly from AliExpress. Even though the site looks sleek and the consumer service is functional, the knife base is basically dropshipping cheap knives that costs a third of the original (AliExpress) price. Please do your research when considering to buy a knife here and definitely check Chinese retailers for the same knifes because the knife base does not even bother to use custom pictures on their website, which makes spotting the fake knifes a whole lot easier.
