SO SO SO many hidden fees. The collection was good, but just to get your boxes back you need to pay 15 pounds per box. Then on top of the 15 pounds you need to pay another 20 for their drop off fee on the day. In your initial booking each box has another 10 pounds you need to pay for “packing materials”. Service is good, but you can find much better storage for much less.
Great company, I would highly recommend. Thank you for assisting with my move.

FRAUD ALERT - THEY DO MONEY EXTRACTION : I am writing the story of my friend, who faced a horrible experience from these Scammers.

When I was booking this service, it was shown that I needed to pay £66 for two months of storage plus £15 for delivery, totalling £81. However, the company actually charged me £129, taking an extra £45 on top of what was agreed.
I booked The Box Co. to store two suitcases, when I first booked, the website showed £33 per month per bag, so for two bags that’s £66 for two months, plus £15 delivery, a total of £81, which seemed reasonable. My luggage was collected on 10 August 2025, with the plan to store it until 22 September 2025. However, when I returned to London on 22 September and tried to schedule a return for the next day (23 September), I was shocked to see a £230 surcharge just to get my luggage back, plus £15 delivery fees. Even when I checked later dates, a week or even 10 days later, it kept showing surcharges of £140–£190, which is completely unreasonable and misleading. It’s a modern-day scam that traps customers after they’ve stored their belongings, leaving them no choice but to pay inflated “surcharges.”
Out of frustration, I even told their team that since there were no available return slots showing on their portal, I would Uber to their storage facility myself and collect my luggage directly. I clearly said, “Just tell me where my luggage is I’ll come and pick it up.” But they refused, saying “It’s against our policy.”
To make matters worse, their customer care is completely unhelpful. They picked up my call once and then stopped answering altogether (yet they’ll always answer if you call pretending to make a new booking). That says everything about how this company operates.
Left with no choice, I had to book a return one month later for 22 October 2025, and was charged £60 plus delivery yet again. In total, I’ve paid over £120–£130 for what was supposed to be a simple, short-term storage service. There has been no transparency, no accountability, and no real support, no emails, no updates, nothing.
This company deliberately misleads customers with low initial prices and then inflates costs through hidden surcharges and non-existent delivery slots. It’s exploitative and unethical.
Please be cautious before booking with The Box Co. The service is overpriced, unresponsive, and deliberately misleading. I’ll be filing a formal complaint and leaving this review so others don’t fall into the same trap.
We were super happy with the quality of service from Box Co for our move. Both movers were super efficient and stayed overtime to ensure everything was placed in the correct rooms.
Our stuff was packed up and kept in their storage for 2 months and all items were redelivered in good condition.
We were very happy with Keli and Craig who really took control. Highly recommend using their services for a move or storage.

Dear Team
I am extremely disappointed with the ongoing issues regarding my return collection. I have made several attempts to book my collection date, yet the system continues to fail, and I am being shown London pricing for what is clearly a local Nottingham storage and transfer. This is completely unacceptable.
I have already raised my concern about this, but no proper resolution has been provided. I have also spoken with other customers who used your service at the same time - they faced the same issue but were charged only £30 and received refunds. The inconsistency in how this is being handled is unreasonable and unfair.
I expect this to be corrected immediately. Please confirm the accurate local pricing and provide my return collection date without further delay.
This matter I have been pursuing and asking for a response for the last one week. This is ridiculous and disgusting and unprofessional behaviour. And I have no recieved a response from the usual JEAN & GLENDA.
I LOOK FORWARD TO A SWIFT RESOLUTION AND RESPONSE TODAY.

I put my daughters items into storage at the end of her first year of Unveristy. I arranged for them to be delivered back on Tuesday 16th Sept but received a message on the Monday to say due to operational issues it was no longer possible. I chased all week and was then told the items would be delivered. Several days passed with a message from DHL to say the times would be delivered but nothing. My daughter stayed in for numerous days and it eventually was returned at 10.15 pm on Thursday 25th September. I was informed the directors were looking to compensate, however the compensation is a discount next time I use them - no thank you. Not only was it inconvenient but we had to purchase items.

Stay away from this company. Although my experience wasn’t as bad as many others, I still had an anxiety inducing experience. As a student I had to produce money that I didn’t have to pay for all the hidden fees they have. Communication was slow and frustrating. The delivery driver was nice however that’s the only plus. My boxes came back slightly opened and deformed even though I put multiple layers of tape. They tried to charge £50 because I had a couple steps leading to my flat how ridiculous!!
Was a really great service and the guy who helped retirn my boxes was very helpful

Beware excessive hidden charges - Company hold you to ransom when you request box returns.
They also quote returns in excess of 1 month with an extra delivery charge of up to £199.99, plus extra price for each box/item (5 boxes circa £275 to return), best price with a later date £144.95.
Don't be fooled by quick collection service, once they have your boxes they have you over a barrel to demand large return fees - AVOID BEFORE YOU GET RIPPED OFF (read other return reviews)

Update: Reply received from customer service, no delivery agents available this month - rechecked website, they have no issue with collection in 1 week (appears the vans only like to go one way)
2nd Update: Return delivery date improved by customer services to 07-Oct, items delivered as promised. Next day, they decided to take another months storage fee off me for £49.90 (unauthorised direct debit) - informed custom services , still awaiting refund 10-Oct
Summary - BEWARE HINDEN CHARGES - 5 months storage (5 large boxes) total cost including collection and return £424.35 (average £16.97 per box, per month)
The Box Co failed to deliver my storage which had been confirmed for delivery yesterday at a very high cost. I was eventually advised that the company had a problem with a truck and that delivery would occur today. I understand that such things happen and would have accepted the situation without concern if the Box Co had communicated any further with me. However, I was given no timeframe for the new delivery, and was unable to contact anybody at the company to confirm that it had been rescheduled. My telephone calls and Emails went unanswered for many hours. My goods were eventually delivered without any notice so I was unable to meet the delivery driver promptly. Better communication would have allayed my concerns and I wouldn't have given this poor review.

I couldn’t thank The Box Co enough. I’ve used self-storage before, and it was such hard work moving my stuff into a unit. This time I used The Box Co — all my stuff was picked up and stored without me having to do anything! They even moved it into my new place too. Such stress-free storage. Thanks again, The Box Co!

They are very prompt in picking up the goods usually within 2 days and the pick up cost is low, however when you want your goods to be delivered back to you the first available date is around 20 days and the the drop off cost are exorbitant usually between 100 and 200 £
Highly recommend using these guys for storage and moving. They did a small house move for me recently and was very easy. Prices were competitive too. Cheers
