My family and I visited the Lord Louis in Plymouth a place I will never return. After we paid for our meal you pay before you get your meal if you had to pay after you wouldn't pay.
So after paying we were advised that the next batch of meat would be a 40 minute wait and blamed it on being busy if you doubled the amount of people that were in the pub you wouldn't fill a mini bus. The guy explained that they can't take the meat out early but that was not the point we should have been advised that due to a lack of planning there would be a delay before we paid.
So we decided to wait in how we wish we didn't the freshly cooked meat arrived and looked very nice, the turkey was fine and moist however the beef was very fatty and not to a standard of other carvery restaurants.
The vegetables were at a completely different level as they had been left there under the heat lamp which must have been low as the food was luke warm and dried up in fact I would have been ashamed to serve food in that state. The gravy was so runny I think it was a stock cube and warm water.
I don't normally complain about staff as I know they are paid a pitence but on this occasion I have never come across a set of staff who showed no interest in the situation which to me must mean that this was a normal experience.
Now I have made a formal complaint through the company complaint system and I will be very interested in the response.
All in all I think we will have to put it down to one of those days and move on but my advice is just avoid the place and spend your well earned money elsewhere.

We were staying locally visiting family,and this looked good value for us all with a discount voucher. However the seats were disgusting, torn and stuck together with brown tape. We couldn't believe what we saw but stayed as they were hungry! How unhygienic and snagged our clothes!! The seating area was the same with very worn out chairs. What's happening to this place. The food (and staff friendly)was fine but definitely ,won't be back.

went to the bells of mary in prestatyn for carvery.. carvery was fresh with lots of choice of fresh vegetables and meats..
staff was lovely especially craig who was very informative about the beautuful area..will be goung back on Friday for breakfast.
dogs are allowed inside which was a big plus..

Been been owed over £600 for over a Month and nothing but pathetic excuses for non payment, despite having plenty customers. Avoid at all costs. Now had to had to make a small claims. Been lied to week after week. Disgusted

Went there for lunch with my family, lovely staff and amazing food!

I went to the stonehouse pub in ninfield East Sussex for dinner,
The place is old and dirty, the furniture should be burned!! The seat cover are split on many a chair, the food was tasteless, over cooked, dry and unappetising. To top it all I had a vanilla ice cream which came out of the machine yellow, when I asked has this gone off I was told it is what it is.
Overall a very bad experiance.

Don't waste time, carvery is no good.. the app don't work to claim rewards.
I'm sticking to Toby evening if it is a bigger drive away.

Staff can’t be bothered to bring food out and keep the carvery topped up. very poor service. staff look like they don’t want to be there.

If i could give -5 i would, absolute joke of a carvery, no food and if you ask you get moaned at like its your fault for suggesting food is available in a carvery 🙄 no customer service, not a friendly atmosphere, god knows how they cope when they are busy, its hardly hard to keep on top of a few items to make sure that food is there for customers. Also would question the hygiene as i witnessed the carvery server dragging the bin, putting items in it with her bare hands and then serving customers plates. Avoid until they can hire friendly staff that actually know what they are doing👌🏻

I came here for a carvery with my family. My partner found a 1.5cm glass shard in her carvery. Yeah, that's right, a 15mm jagged broken segment from a bottle

She bit down on it and spat it out. I called the manager over and she dismissed it as a burnt piece of potato. After acknowledging that it wasn't a piece of potato, we filed an incident report with the head office. I had to almost shout at them to remove the food from the carvery, they didn't want to do it!! THAT'S NUTS!!!!

2 days later, the head office called and asked us to explain the situation. My partner told them how she doesn't want to visit again and had lost trust in eating out.

Their response: Here's some coupons to use at our restaurant. What a joke

I haven't received any calls back since this and its been a number of days now. I don't think anybody really cares. You know, they used to feed glass to people to off them. If this happens at the Bull Head's, they offer you a food coupon. What a joke!

As they didn't reply, and I gave them an ample chance to, I am forced to seek legal representation. I also reported them North West Leicestershire District Council for having a foreign body in their food.

Don't trust this place!! I didn't want to leave this review. I thought we could resolve this in private. But when you don't call back and ignore us completely, then I have no choice but to escalate this matter

If you use a wheelchair or walking frame and like to be independent this is NOT the place to go. Access to the carvery counter is width restricted by barriers, too narrow for wheelchairs and frames to get through. Yes, staff will help but that is not the point. Any independent person "likes to stand on their own two feet," to coin a phrase. This has happened since the very poorly thought-out refurbishment. I was told that the rope barriers are removed at slack times, that is not the point, not everyone wants to go at slack times. I find this discriminating for the disabled. Discrimination at its worst.

Massive fan of The Townhouse in Norwich . But last night they really let themselves down. Salty overcooked food does not make a good carvery at 7pm. To be told at the bar Hammon was the only meat available was not the best start.
Went back on Thursday & it was everything it should be, delightful meal, plenty of meat and freshly prepared veg
& the biggest bonus, no washing up !

Food was disgustingly, cold food, over cooked veg not very friendly staff.
This is the second time of going here and both times same thing.
I gave the benefit of doubt the first time but now never again ! 😡 if you want a nice meal AVOID this place. It’s disgusting 🤮

Held my father's wake there. The staff were friendly, attentive & helpful. The food for 18 could have easily fed 25.

Overall I would recommend Stonehouse.

Today I had a pizza party which I booked yesterday...and th hostess ceejay was brilliant explaining to the kids what to do and they listened...I would recommend it to any1 who does a kids party it's great value for money and defo would go there again....thank you stonehouse qnd ceejay

Stopped in for half a pint with a friend on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Got a parking fine because I didn't put my reg into their parking system. We entered via the side door and didnt see the machine, which is at the front entrance. £70 for a pint in 2 glasses... wouldn't recommend

De Rodes arms at Balbrough ,
We visited the newly refurbished restaurant on Friday . The outdoor area is lovely this will be a great place to eat out in the summer months with the new lighting . The car park has all new parking bays marked up.
Inside is just as lovely the new tinted windows will be a treat when the sun is beating down . The seating areas have all new furniture and the new two person booths are a nice touch.
The decor is perfect . The staff as always were extremely welcoming and helpful and made are visit a great experience.. Carvery was wonderful , piping hot & we had two new desserts the lemon meringue sundae and the strawberry one ( sorry I can’t remember the name of it ) both were lovely ..
great value for money and a lovely place to eat .. congratulations to all the staff , managers and construction team for their efforts in getting the restaurant open so quickly & the wonderful decor chosen . Definitely as much visit restaurant this summer .. x

The Carvery at Owler Bar (Holmesfield/Sheffield) pre-booked and had excellent table. Very helpful and friendly staff and the carvery was excellent, delicious and very good value - my friend and I, both in our 80s were delighted - thank you.
