Numerous times I found myself…
Numerous times I found myself embarrassed at the bar with not working egift card and a queue forming behind. Once, after two verification attempts, I paid by card and reported the issue to the guest care on the Mitchells & Butlers phoneline just to be told that they can't do anything but would ask the particular branch to sort it out. Had no contact. Phoned again and again to hear the same old story. Eventually, the manager of the restaurant contacted me and agreed to refund the bill and charge the gift card but didn't have the details of the transaction. I politely agreed to check my bank statement and call back with the details. To my astonishment, next time I called with the requested information, I was told that the regional manager Jones, Graeme (MAB) instructed to refuse to do anything about it. But that is not the end of it. Later on I received
an email from the same manager diplomatically accusing me of lying about presenting the gift card. They ignore my complaint of a problem with the gift card for weeks, don't even bother to contact me and apologise, then promise to correct the situation just to get back on their word few days later, finally accuse me of making up the whole thing. What a cheeky bugger, this Graeme Jones.
The lesson is: They will only care as long as you have the cash in your hand. Once you exchange it for a gift card, you're a liability. My advice is save yourself embarrassment at the bar and nerves contacting the guest care. STAY AWAY FROM gift cards
After visiting The Tramway at Cleveleys…
After visiting The Tramway at Cleveleys on Sunday 6th October 2019for Sunday dinner I must congratulate everyone there for their attentiveness, their good manners and friendliness and most of all their delicious food. May I at this point mention Simon who looked after my requirements superbly. Thank you very much.
Both me and my brothers family eat here…
Both me and my brothers family eat here in the goat every Saturday night for around two to three years and have seen the place go so far down hill we decided not to bother eating here , I took my family back there on Friday night and to be honest it was worse than before , my beef was like shoe leather I took most home for my dog ! The stuffing was as dry as a bone the peas had been so long under the heat lights the were a hard as bullets the mash had a brown top and even digging down to the bottom tasted horrible, all the veg did not look very nice at all the roast potatoes were all black and nasty looking , the Yorkshire puddings snapped there was three left in the bowl and we had one each but they were so hard I thing the plate they were on was softer , the serving tongs had been under the lights for so long they were burning my hand and had to use serviettes to hold them , as we were very regular for a couple of years we do occasionally try it again to hopefully see some changes in the food / service but I’m afraid to say this time was so bad I will not step back in the place again , Friday night was the final nail in the coffin for me and my family it’s such a shame as we are not far from this place but it has gone so down hill I can’t face it again . They sent me a text today to leave them a review I responded to the message saying if you want the truth please ring me ,
Not a happy customer - parking fury
I recently had a meal at what was the Old Quay and on returning home today I find a £50 parking charge posted through my letterbox for parking in their carpark.
Surely the company should adopt a different policy to entice people back again.
We have been going to The Windmill in…
We have been going to The Windmill in Denton for many years and have always had excellent service and the food is wonderful and I cannot praise all the staff enough. Without exception they are all very welcoming. My husband has dementia and can be difficult but all the staff treat him with great kindness and understanding. I would like to mention Maggie who goes the extra mile just to make him feel welcome.
I would recommend The Windmill to anyone. Give it a try.

A Total Surprise!!!
Until approx two yeas ago, We used to be a regular visitor to the Stonehouse Gap restaurant but it became scruffy, the food was poor and the service terrible. Worst of all Management appeared to be turning a blind eye.
Today we were persuaded by our friends to come and try it, as it had changed for the better.
Reluctantly we agreed and Met up for lunch at 12.30 pm today and I have to say, it was excellent, the service, quality of food was excellent. The place looked very clean and smart, no sticky tables!!
The manager Christopher and assistant Lyn made us feel very welcome and enquired if the meal etc had been ok.
It was a pleasure to be there and hopefully the new standards will be maintained.
Thanks Chris & Lyn!!!!
My partner and i go to the stone house…
My partner and i go to the stone house restaurant at scalby manor in scarborough at least once a week. The carvery is ok but at times in can be quite inedible, it all depends what time you get there and how fresh it is. We both mostly go for the stone baked pizzas which are always fantastic. They are freshly cooked and taste amazing.Would defiantly recommend trying these, you can also help yourself to chips and salad which can also be hit and miss too, but for the price you pay its great value. They have deals all week, bar weekend, so you never pay too much. Its always clean and the staff are always friendly.
VERY HAPPY CUSTOMERS
On Thursday (03/01/2019) my wife and I went to the Stonehouse restaurant in Shorne, Gravesend. The place was clean, warm and cosy. The food wasn't bad - it wasn't good either. Actually it was terrific. BUT! What made the experience great was the quick and sharp wit of Sam and Betsy. They were fantastic! every time I chirped one of them, they came back with some humorous remark. It's good to find ONE witty person in an establishment, but to find TWO - on the same night, was incredible. Keep it up girls, with your humour, you'll make a lot more people enjoy their meal when you serve them. Oh yes, their waiting skills were great as well.
Christmas Dinner 2018
The menu was falsified, the food was terrible, the service abismal but the waitress' were the best part of a desperate overpriced experience, as advertised there was no crackling, no pigs in blankets, the meat was dry and grisley on the 3 meats, the veg overcooked, the parsnips swimming in fat, the gravy bowls empty...
The Salmon on the starter was warm and there was no brandy sauce on the Xmas Pud, the menu was 100% fraudulent, what we got was a regular, tasteless £4.59 plate for £43.00pp and absolute liberty!
Do not think this place is an easy option for a stress free family meal, its not, especially at extortionate rates on a basic dry carvery...
Ruined Xmas, go elsewhere like La Dolcé Vita in the Town Centre the fillet steak is delicious!
Nice food poor service.
Sadly although the food was really nice the level of service was very poor. Had to wait nearly an hour for our food and then another 30 minutes for desserts. The waitress spilled a dessert on our table and then went to scoop it up and give to my stepson. My wife complained to the manager and he kindly refunded for the desserts.I dont think we will be rushing back there soon!!

Great kitchen staff
Great kitchen staff. Very friendly. Unlike the bar girls. Seriously if your that miserable at work then go work somewhere else. The food was fabulous at good prices. Shame a lot of the deserts were not available.
'Old Quay' Parkgate, Wirral
Went to the 'Old Quay' Parkgate, Wirral, had a lovely meal. Had the carvery. Price was reasonable. Staff were very friendly & helpful, although not a lot of them. Seems to be the same everywhere these days, lack of staff. Would highly recommend!
My partner and i went on sat the 7thto…
My partner and i went on sat the 7th to stone house carvery on the A 58 all i can say was we where kept waiting for 20 mins for gravy, there was one counter staff on who was trying to carve the meat and also filling up the veg,we had to ask for roast potatoes, chips ,stuffing, the rest of the veg was very dry.I asked to see the duty manager and all she could say was there should be three working behind the counter and said sorry for keeping us waiting and would go and sort the staff out she said i could replace my meal which i did and the young lady behind the counter was very put out by this and said has the manager said this is ok which i replied yes (not good customer service at all ).
Today we called again as its handy for us on the way home and guess what (NO GRAVY AGAIN) there where people in front of us who had been waiting 15 mins, they also had to ask for the veg section to be filled up . The meat was nice and the frozen yorkshire puds where warm but for the rest very poor standards. Both ourselves and the other customers left our meal. We will not be returning i would rather travel another 10 miles . A member of the team came out of the kitchen with very very dirty whites if you can call the whites with a beard and no covering over it very very poor standards , might be a good idea to get the health inspector in.
We went to Wharton Park Stonehouse, Winsford
We went to Wharton Park Stonehouse Pizza and carvery Winsford, Cheshire .We ordered Pizza and a carvery .The Pizza was exceptionally good, although they didn't have my first choice of goats cheese or a breaded brie starter , the taste of my alternative, pepperoni, made up for my disappointment ! We were served by Chloe who was really pleasant and informative . The only downside to our visit was understaffing of the Bar, there was no one there to serve us a second round of drinks so we didn't bother having one . Other than that a very pleasant, friendly and will do again experience .
Not Hot!
My Partner and I had a Carvery meal at Little Melton Village Inn on Sunday Evening April 22nd 2018.Whilst the food was adequately cooked it was only just above 'Warm'in temperature,it didnt help matters the plates were barely warm and the Gravy luke warm not Impressed

I went to The inn by the sea at Lee on Solent yesterday for the second time in a few weeks, with my friend who has had major foot surgery we had Maureen as our server and she gave us time to choose and gave us a table near the carvery so my friend did not have to walk far
I believe staff like Maureen should be praised highly for her customer service, always smiling and polite an asset to your company
