The item ordered was incorrect

The item ordered was incorrect. It was not acceped and sent back to the supplier. 3 months on we are still being charged for the item we returned, unopened and unaccepted.

We have called weekly to get this amended and get an answer as to why we are being charged continuously and not refunded or credited.

We had a previous order of second hand equipment as well, we have had the dishwasher repaired 5 times and still it floods the kitchen and is a faulty product. We had to have the display cabinet fixed as well.

Once our contract is done, we will never use them again. We heard so many bad reviews from the insutry after we had signed up. Too late unfortunately.

Dear fellow café and restaurant owners,

As a passionate entrepreneur, I was eager to open my dream hospitality business. When it came time to purchase kitchen equipment, the dealer I trusted highly recommended SilverChef and their “Rent-Try-Buy” contract. It seemed like a flexible option at the time—but unfortunately, it turned out to be a financial trap.

I signed the contract in good faith and made every payment on time for 12 months. Over that first year, I paid a total of $28,000, including interest. I understood they needed to profit, and I was ready to finalize the purchase. But when I contacted them to buy the equipment outright, I was shocked:
👉 They asked for another $28,000—on top of what I had already paid!

To make matters worse, they told me that if I didn’t want the equipment anymore, I’d have to pay to return it to their warehouse!

This is not how ethical financing works. It felt like I was being punished for trying to do the right thing. This type of business model exploits small business owners, many of whom are already under huge pressure.

💥 My message to you: Please don’t fall into the same trap. Don’t let a predatory financing scheme like this ruin your business or your life. Avoid SilverChef. Look for fair, transparent options that support your growth—not drain your resources.

Please be cautious when dealing with this company. While it’s easy to sign up, it can cost you an arm and a leg to get out of the lease. There are many hidden charges buried in the fine print — especially if you decide to buy the equipment after a year. To make matters worse, they will even charge you for broken equipment!
I’m currently in a dispute with them, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. If you can’t afford new equipment, consider buying second‑hand rather than entering into a lease agreement with this company.
