Sylwia from Sensational Tutors has been supporting our daughter in school once/week since spring 2025. It has been life changing. We now have a clear idea of why she was struggling and what to do about it at home and at school. Cannot recommend her enough.

Sensational Tutors really are ‘Sensational’. They go above and beyond to meet your needs and gave us such a bespoke service. They are very thorough so to match the correct candidate to your child/young person. Angela was fantastic and SO supportive. She provided so much to my son and the whole family. She was prompt, organised and not fazed by my sons’s behaviours (especially to learning!) in anyway. She took time to get to know him, she took time to think of appropriate activities and she really took time to stand back, assess, plan and then slowly expose him to the task. I was worried that she couldn’t work with him or he would be too challenging, this was never an option for Angela, she would always continue to be so encouraging and would not feel despondent, she would go back to the drawing board and think about my son and what it was that made it feel challenging and change it and try again! It worked, she would apply a little pressure and then would step back and take the pressure off and really look at his behaviour and ‘Why’ he would not like that activity etc. she would be fantastically organised with arriving with a plan and all the accessories/props needed for that session not to mention how many hours she spent at home thinking about my son and how she could help him. She worked with us for just under a year whilst my son had a year off before going to residential college. My son has significant learning difficulties, a global developmental delay, non verbal and is 20 yrs old. I know that Angela and I (as a parent) were also very well supported by Sensational tutors and if I had needed anymore support throughout the process then they were there. It was a faultless process as soon as I picked up the phone. You would struggle to find a better Tutor Company.

I found Farah on sensational Tutors for my 2 year old son who is non-verbal. She would come to my home once a week to work with my son. There was a wide range of activities she did with my son to help improve on his speech and language. He was always really excited to see her each lesson and would be excited for each activity. He would make improvements on trying to say words and eventually understood the structure of each lesson.

Super happy with Farah and never had any issues. She was always accommodating to all my needs and highly recommend her going forward.

Felicity has been working with my client, a young man, for about four months. I knew from the moment I spoke to Felicity that she would be the perfect tutor for this young man. She is so passionate, motivating and enthusiastic about her work. She is also very mindful of working sensitively with parents. I would highly recommend Felicity to anyone looking for a private SEN tutor.

I was so relieved when SENsational Tutors informed me they had a suitable tutor available for my son. I had not previously been able to find a tutor near us that could meet his needs. He has very specific needs and has been out of mainstream education since the end of primary school. My son is autistic with a demand avoidant profile as well as being very dyslexic and has suffered trauma from previous failed mainstream education experiences.
Right from my first contact with them, SENsational tutors were reassuring and supportive. They listened and really understood our needs. We were able to meet the tutor on line, and he turned out to be a perfect fit. SENsational tutors ensured that the set up process was well managed and clearly understood.

Leon, our tutor, was nothing less than amazing. Right from the first session he built a strong rapport with our son and engaged him in learning in such a positive way. He basically provided our son with an intuitive, bespoke learning experience. This culminated in F. achieving success in 3 functional skills exams, which for a young person who had never previously taken any exams and had spent 2 years without a school was wonderful and a proud moment for us all.
Leon also advised me and another professional involved in our son's education on ways we could also support F. providing useful links and material that I still use now.
Leon is above all an excellent and understanding professional and I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone who needs high quality young person centred learning.

We have been really pleased with Sensational Tutors. Our tutor Louise has been great with both our children, who really look forward to their lessons. She has built rapport and trust quickly, which has enabled both children to make progress. We have honest conversations about both childrens' progress, and it's clear that Louise has their best interests at heart. Louise is reliable and flexible and communication is exemplary. The office are great in keeping track and checking in, in a regular way.

Sheree was a star.....My daughter, M has a learning disability which was underestimated by her school. Having found a specific tutor with SEN experience and the level of care like Sheree, meant she was able to feel comfortable with her most challenging subject of maths. Sheree built up a good working relationship with M and this trust meant she was able to 'give things a go' and build up her confidence. Sheree went above and beyond and we are truly grateful to her for her support.

When we first started looking for a tutor for my daughter, I was honestly quite anxious about finding someone who would truly understand her needs cPTSD and neurodiversity.

From the moment we met Jess, those worries disappeared. She just "got" my daughter straight away. There's something special about the way Jess connects with young people - she's incredibly patient and has this calm presence that immediately put my daughter at ease. Within just a couple of sessions, my daughter was actually looking forward to their time together, which was amazing to see.

What I love most about Jess is how she makes learning feel natural and enjoyable. She doesn't just stick to textbooks - she finds creative ways to teach that match my daughter's interests. Whether it's using art techniques to help with other subjects/topics or finding ways to make difficult concepts more accessible, Jess always seems to have the perfect approach.

One thing that really shows Jess's special way of working is how she's encouraged my daughter to turn her passion for crochet into a mini enterprise. With Jess's support and encouragement, my daughter has gained the confidence to share her skills with others and even make a little money from something she loves. It's amazing how Jess sees potential in everything and helps build on it.

As a mum, I really appreciate how Jess keeps me informed about what they're working on and how my daughter is progressing. She gives such thoughtful feedback after each session, and I can see she genuinely cares about my daughter's wellbeing, not just her academic progress.

The transformation in my daughter's confidence has been incredible. She's grown so much that she's now transitioning to an independent sixth form to study A levels - something I honestly wasn't sure would be possible when we first started. Seeing her excited about her future and believing in herself is the most wonderful thing as a parent.

If you're looking for someone who will truly understand your child/young person and help them flourish, I can't recommend Jess highly enough. She's been exactly what our family needed.

Finding Sensational tutors has been a turning point for our son and our family. From the beginning we were so well looked after and the communication with Sensational tutors and Helen was just fantastic. They took the time to find a perfect tutor (Nicole) for our son to match his needs and our expectations. Our son has got Speech delay and ASD and has been struggling with phonics, writing, reading and maths. Nicole has started teaching our son in February this year and what a change she made in his learning and our life! Our boy (7 years old), who stuck before on the set 1 of phonics and was getting emotional every time it came to learning phonics now is on the set 2, blending words beautifully and basically loving phonics and writing! He enjoys reading books and his understanding of maths is getting better and better! All of it makes him and us so happy and proud!
Nicole always comes so prepared with bags of resources! She is so knowledgeable, dedicated, patient, caring and warm! Our communication with Nicole is absolutely fantastic! Our son always looks forward to seeing and studying with Nicole!

My son who is 11 and diagnosed ASD has been having private tutoring session with Sammie B. She is extremely skilled in delivering learning in a fun and engaging way for children with additional needs. My son has gone from struggling to focus for 10-15 minute to doing a full hour session with ease and dare I say enjoying it! She has helped him be able to sit year 6 SATs. I can’t recommend Sammie enough!

We are extremely happy with Linda and feel fortunate to have found her. Over the past four months of play therapy, we have seen significant improvements in our son. He is starting to link more words together, enjoying playtime on his own and with us, and learning to interact more through play.

Linda's approach to working with our son has not only helped him learn through play, but it has also taught us valuable techniques to support his speech development. Her calm demeanor and patience make each session enjoyable, and she consistently brings fresh ideas to keep our son engaged.

It's heartwarming to see how excited our son is for her visits; he often waits by the window, waving when she arrives and saying goodbye when she leaves. We cannot recommend her enough! We feel incredibly lucky to have found someone so dedicated and effective.

Krista has been an amazing science teacher for our son. She was energetic, creative, and adapted brilliantly to his unique learning style. Both of our sons have autism and our educated at home. We have worked with many tutors, but Krista definitely ranks as one is the best. We will miss her now that the boys are returning to a school setting.

Linda has really helped my son to improve his maths. He has a diagnosis for adhd and has struggled with being able to concentrate or show interest in maths. However, with Linda's help he has improved greatly. The lessons are calm, seem interesting and my son has been helped to focus on the material.

Krista has been an incredible support—truly a blessing in my child’s life. My son, who has ASD and ADHD, has formed such a strong connection with her, and it’s made a real difference. She’s fun, always smiling, shares jokes with him, and consistently helps him see himself in a positive light. She also keeps me regularly updated, which I really appreciate.

What really stands out is how deeply she understands his unique needs. She meets him where he’s at, breaks things down in a way that makes sense to him, and designs lessons that feel completely tailored to him. Learning with Krista never feels overwhelming—in fact, it never even feels like “school work” to him. He genuinely enjoys their sessions and looks forward to them, which is so important as he prepares for his GCSEs.

Honestly, we would have felt lost without her. Krista has a true gift—not only for teaching, but for making people feel seen, heard, and understood. When you meet her, it feels like you’ve known her for years.

She has a heart of gold. She’s kind, professional, always punctual, and a joy to have working with my son. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

My daughter lexi has septo optic dysplasia, she is autistic and is severely sight impaired. Rebecca has been absolutely fantastic with lexi. Very reliable and punctual. Rebecca has always made sure we are happy with what she is doing for lexi. As a family we are very grateful for Rebecca's time with lexi. Lexi will miss her when she starts school.

The website made it really easy to find a local tutor/mentor that met our needs. Our mentor Kelly has been amazing working with my 16year old daughter. She has been incredibly kind and patient as well as creative with trying different approaches. I have been very lucky to find at SENsational Tutors the best Autism Specialist that my son could have. Eimear has been offering amazing social and behavioural interventions to my son with autistic spectrum disorder and ADHD for quite long time as she has both the Knowledge/ degrees and long special experience with SEN children with a variety of needs. I have tried many different specialists. She is a marvellous professional and offers exactly what my son needs to progress both socially and academically. She is a combination of a kind hearted & patient personality and hard working young woman that sets and achieves the highest goals for my kid. I am definitely recommending Eimear to all parents with SEN children, as she is a highly qualified specialist with university degrees and huge experience in the UK and abroad.

She has been an exceptional tutor for Laroy, leading to significant improvements in his performance since she began teaching him. Her engaging approach has fostered a positive rapport, allowing Laroy to open up and thrive in his learning environment. Additionally, Louise consistently demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.

Glynda has an amazing understanding and respect of our daughters needs and behavior, and the way Glynda approach and engage her is amazing to experience. Our daughter (ASD and PDA) is in autistic burnout and struggles with anxiety, and Glynda´s ability to create a safe and student led learning environment for her is one of a kind.
We recently used Glynda´s expertise through an ASD assesment of our daughter, and the psychiatrist said that she was thrilled to see, how Glynda understands, respects and educate our daughter, and that it is rare to find a tutor with such great insight. And yes, we as parents agree! We are so grateful to have Glynda as part of our children's educational and developmental journey.

Leon was the catalyst that enabled our daughter to sit her GCSE exams. He was patient, encouraging, and empathetic with her. He kept an open mind and invested time in building trust with her. Furthermore, he understood her needs and tailored his approach accordingly.
