Our son has been working with Hina for a few months and the improvements have been significant. He is engaged with the sessions on a way that I didn't think was possible, and his learning has accelerated, with maths no longer being a feared subject.

I can't praise Hina enough and see that she's doing a wonderful job.

I was so lucky to find Kelly, who was wonderful with my son Tom, helping him with GCSE revision and general organisation. He was always willing to attend the sessions, which is a credit to Kelly, as he can be picky with tutors! She was incredibly patient and kept him engaged for a full hour and half each time. A year ago we took the decision to search for a tutor for our son. He had recently been diagnosed as having Autism with a PDA profile and ADHD. He was doing well in Maths and Sciences, but his grades for English, History and Ethics ranged between 1 and 3. We enlisted the help of Krista, and she has been amazing.

She is always punctual to online lessons and flexible with changes like holidays. Krista has a great relationship with my son, who can sometimes be lacking in social skills, but it is a delight to hear her engaging with him. She is always incredibly enthusiastic and has taken the time to interact and understand him. She gives detailed and insightful feedback after every lesson, keeping us in the loop of how he has progressed.

Having asked my son what he thought of his lessons with Krista, he described her as "kind and helpful. She's really good at explaining and she's organised". She has kept him focussed in lessons and has helped him with strategies of how to answer GCSE questions. We await the results but regardless, extend our thanks to Krista for her support and hard work.

Jane has been teaching my daughter (A) English Language and English Literature for 9 months. She is kind, patient and very flexible, taking time to understand A (who is ASD) and her needs. This has enabled A to be educated in a way that improved her confidence and be able to flourish. 9 months ago, A could not write any creative writing at all and was literally scared of taking up a pen. Maths and Science she understands: generally a right or a wrong, but English is so different. However, with Jane's help and support, I now cannot stop her from writing creatively, e.g. last weekend she was 'bored' and sat down and wrote a fantastic piece that we are all in awe of! I cannot thank Jane enough.

On the company itself, I have found the process seamless and the little email tips I receive have been helpful.

Jane has successfully worked with my daughter for 8 months and supported her achieve the goal of confidently sitting her GCSEs alongside her peers. She took the time to understand my daughters learning and teach her in a style that suited her individual processing needs. Her calm, clear, consistent style helped build my daughters self confidence in herself and her academic ability. She created a strong bond with my daughter by listening and going at my daughters pace. Jane's knowledge and experience of the GCSE curriculum and exam content is exceptional and all her tutoring was focused around exam content and technique. I would highly recommend Jane without hesitation.

We have had the most fantastic experience with Alli at Sensational tutors. She has really taken the time to get to know our son and to build a connection with him. The trust she’s built with him has been so important in allowing him to then gain confidence in his learning with her. In meeting him where he is at and then ensuring learning links to his interests it’s been amazing to watch him gaining skills and confidence. We couldn’t be happier with the progress he’s making but even more so with how much he’s enjoying his learning with her.

Louise embodies all the wonderful qualities of a true vocation to teaching. She has changed my 5 year olds world (and his parents) in so many ways. From the first phone call, Louise understood our concerns and picked up on the small things that make the biggest difference to any child. Her specialist knowledge, ability to communicate at every level, patience, sense of fun in learning and kindness are unmatched. Eternally grateful for Louise!

We currently work with Andrea Heath. She is absolutely wonderful. We can't sing her praises enough. She is always on time, pays attention to our daughter and understands when she needs 5 minute breaks. We've been working with Andrea for about 6 months and will continue to work with her until our daughter returns to school.
Andrea is very good at working with us, she suggests things she can do with our daughter or follows what I request. She is so easy to work with, I highly recommend her!

Ellis really enjoyed his sessions with David. He really looked forward to seeing him and the lessons. A super achievement! Ellis was always really enthusiastic in the learning - David worked really successfully to make the work punchy and interesting to keep Ellis engaged through the lesson. Our daughter has been having lessons with Krista to help with her dyslexia for over a year and a half. Krista has been brilliant, her lessons are lively and engaging and incorporate my daughter's interests. She has helped my daughter organise her thinking process and overcome her tendency to get stuck or side tracked, while making the lessons challenging and work on her positive skills. A wonderful teacher.

After two years of receiving no mainstream education due to autism, anxiety and PDA issues, we decided to look for a tutor that could work with our 13 year old daughter. Rebecca’s approach was patient and focussed on building trust with a very bright but socially anxious girl, slowly introducing educational elements over time.
For the first time in over two years we saw our daughter beginning to engage with education again. It has been a remarkable transformation after trying many other different avenues. Rebecca understands the PDA that our daughter has, and can determine when to push, when to back off, and when to give options that give our daughter increased confidence.
Our daughter now looks forward to her tutoring sessions, and is fully engaged with the process. Her sessions are often punctuated with laughter, and we have a happy and engaged daughter once again.
Rebecca herself has been highly professional, and has gone beyond the formal constraints of her tutor time to help where she can, whether with our applications for an EHCP or SEN assistance, to suggesting and helping us to find other options for our daughter going forwards.

Kay has been having sessions with my son for 12 months and is an absolute Godsend.
We wanted him to start sessions prior to starting Reception at a mainstream school as I was really concerned about his ability to engage in adult led activities and how this would impact him. His speech and language skills were also poor and were a massive concern. But in his time with Kay, he has become a confident reader, loving literacy and his comprehension and ability to talk about the books he is reading is astonishing. She has been so flexible adapting not only to his needs but also his interests that as a parent has been so heart warming because it demonstrates how well she has observed and knows him. He eagerly looks forward to their sessions and so many of the things she has implemented or suggested have made a difference in our home life also! Cannot sing her praises enough and even family and friends have commented on his development!

My daughter Jess has been tutored by Glynda for nearly a year now. Before she had very little input. She has complex medical needs, developmental delay but is a very bright, sassy little girl. Glynda has gone above and beyond in taking the time to learn about Jess’s needs. Her likes and dislikes. How to engage with her. The difference in a year is truly amazing. She’s engaging with activities she would never have engaged in before. Is learning to communicate and learn on an ACC device. I’m truly grateful to have found Glynda and to see the positive impact she is having in my daughter’s life. Thank you Glynda! You are truly one of a kind :)

Sensational was able to fulfil a very specific brief of someone who could come to our home at the weekend and had the right skills to help our daughter transition to secondary school educational challeges. No other agency managed this.

I have been using SENsational Tutors for over a year now and Elaine is a special tutor who made learning fun whilst helping my daughter reach her goals and target for each lesson.
