Worst organised event I have ever been to.

The entertainment wasn’t great and the food and drink was overpriced, which you expect at a festival.

However what you don’t expect is to be treated like cattle.

Everyone was made to queue for ages where the people at the gates went through everyone’s bags. And I mean every bag.

They were confiscating water when the temperature was 27 degrees with little shade. I saw no drink refill stations which are a legal requirement for a festival and bottles were taken away.

There was no regard for privacy checking chairs and bags with to take drinks and food away. Even checking in people’s purses I’m not sure what they thought they would find.

I saw one family had half a loaf of bread and a staff member was rooting through the bag spreading germs.

Absolutely no regard for people or for hydration.

You expect to pay a little over the odds and to not being in alcohol or your own food is understandable. But to take away water so you are forced to buy from them, to be given disgusting toilets and treated like an animal is unacceptable.

SAUSAGE and cider festival yet there’s 6 (six) savoury food vendors in the whole place, and only one of them doing sausages and it’s the kind of hotdog you can get anywhere ?? Could’ve been a really good event, with all the bands, but nowhere near enough food choice, especially for the name of the festival. I’m vegan so it doesn’t really matter to me (at least there was ✨one✨ option) but I’d be fuming if I’d come expecting a variety of good food. Would’ve been nice to see more stalls too, local/small businesses etc. Glad we only came for one day, though wasn’t worth the price of the ticket in my opinion.

What a disappointment. Bills itself as family entertainment but very little on offer for children.
Everything completely overpriced. Minuscule can of wine £8. Sausage 7.50. Chips with cheese sauce (ugh) £8. Totally exploitative
Where are the healthier and quality alternatives / decent soft drinks and water?

Got a letter and won 1st prize which it says is 4 free tickets. Entered code and it says 50% off only which is 2nd place.

I don't know anyone who hasn't won this. Seems a bit like false advertising.

No doubt in the Ts and cs there's something about prize changing at some point after 1 sale or something but not what was presented.

Don’t bother with it
arrived at around 4.30pm. Had a pint of cider from Lillies, in which they then removed the sign and closed the Lillies stall down. Basically the only reason we went. They’d ran out, We then found a cider we liked at sea cider stand. Forget it, sold out straight away with 2/5 ciders left before 6pm. Partner that with the 1.50 charge for the cup. If you go between a half and a full pint you have to pay the 1.50 every time even though you are still returning a cup, contributing to the green ethos of the festival . Sausages were pretty good . Music was pretty good. Would just be better if The already overpriced cider was actually available rather than selling out a couple of hours in. Pointless name for the festival . Just a couple of fairly decent tributes surrounded by decent food . Not worth the money

The Oasis and Queen bands were fantastic. The opening act was also fantastic. They really got the crowd going. We where dancing alongside others. However don't cross the line. A eight or nine foot line from the stage. What did managers think was going to happen. Have they a risk assessment? Absolutely ridiculous. I left the venue
Don't treat respectful well behaved people like idiots. I will not recommend or visit another Sausage and Cider festival again. If you have a risk assessment post it. Very disappointment how this venue was run. Again don't treat people like idiots.

Overpriced and completely naff
Went to the one in Newcastle yesterday. Not really a cider festival, more an afternoon of ok-ish tribute bands with expensive bars. Audio was bad, and the 'live DJ' talking to the crowd seemed to be a pre-recorded track they played between songs. Cider was overpriced and the bars were run by Events staff rather than cider people so nobody could really tell you anything about the different types, they just poured the drinks. I ordered a sausage, and after taking my £7.50 the guy told me they'd run out of the one I wanted, and I'd need to wait there for 15 minutes. He was just a young kid really, so when I asked for a refund because I didn't fancy waiting, he had to go and get his boss because he didn't know how to do it and the whole thing was pretty frustrating. If you've got deep pockets, are not really into cider, and just want to have a few drinks and sing along to an Oasis tribute band then you are probably going to love it. Otherwise, you'll find it disappointing and massively overpriced. I regret wasting my money on this.

No decent cider, overpriced sausages, dreadful entertainment.

In total agreement with many other reviewers - we attended in 2023 and enjoyed it - however, Warwick Sept 2024 was totally rammed, with the only place to sit being behind the vendor stalls next to the toilets. Dangerous for children and disabled folk. We witnessed lots of very drunk people with the only real security present at the gate.
Stayed for 30 minutes and decided to leave.
Won’t be coming again.

Dreadful we were shunted into a small overcrowded area with even more still coming in! Warwick Sept 2024. This was dangerous you couldn't find anywhere hardly to stand and if you tried to sit you got stood on. We left after half an hour thinking we could return later to see if it had calmed down but told you can't re-enter. People were leaving feeling the same we then went for a meal and found that they were still selling tickets to get in at 6pm for an extortionate price!

If I could give it a minus number I would. I ordered a "Gourmet Pork & Wild Boar" sausage (£9.50). Once I got the the pen where you watch the tribute acts and took a bite I noticed it was a frankfurter, its not rocket science, it wasnt even busy. Its served in a bit of French stick, with red cabbage and lettuce (?!) The can of fanta was £3, and ciders were £7 upwards. I tried to leave as it was absolutely shoddy. To my amazement there was no dedicated exit, only an entrance, which was blocked by people coming in. Staff seemed bemused I wanted to leave, with "once you leave you can't come back in" said to me 3 times. The best one though was when I told a girl at the gate I wanted to leave and she said "you can't", at which point I was so disturbed by the whole experience I dragged my mother past the hoards of unsuspecting victims / hostages and went to the High Street to have some real food. SAVE YOURSELVES, DONT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!

Winchester event.
Positives:
Easy to get in with minimal security check (but we didn't arrive until 5.30pm)
Decent cider selection (3 independent vans plus tent with reasonable selection) - managed to try 6 different ones I hadn't had before - all good!
Decent sausage selection (several vans selling several varieties each) - ours were very tasty.
Negatives:
Prices too high (pints £6-7, sausages in rolls/baguettes £7-8) on top of steep entry fee
Bands not great - all tribute acts and sound wasn't very good
Probably wouldn't go again unless bands were better and got a cheap ticket

Who thought it was a good idea to put axe throwing right next to the children stage is completely mental.

I went to this event yesterday and to be honest for £45 a ticket was very disappointed. Way overpriced, the website description was poor as it gave the impression you would get to sample different ciders and sausages.
Nope, that was not the case, very little choice on the food trucks of sausages, no healthier food you could purchase, not even a jacket spud as couldn't face sausage in a roll for lunch and tea. Also if you got a drink from the bar I was in a warm can, so was the coke at a grand total cost of £9.50!!! There was no mention on the website you could take refillable bottles in but the bars did provide free water. 2 of the bands were good, 2 others didn't see as had to use public transport to get home and the other 2 seemed a bit dreary for a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Also god forbid you wanted to do the silent disco as it was rammed.
Don't get me started on the fact you couldn't take your own food or drink in but if you did the tough security would have confiscated it after going through every pocket of your bag and giving your camping chair a good patting down.
So, all in all was disappointed with food stalls, rubbish beer stands and the high cost, my view is if I went again I would plan, find cheaper tickets, check the bands before booking and eat before I went. Or not go at all.

Absolute rip off, will not be going again!
Starts with an excessive search by security staff of all bags and camping chairs etc on entry, where any food and drink you might have (including soft drinks) is confiscated, leaving you no alternative but to pay for the extortionately overpriced, and limited selection of mediocre food and drink on offer at the venue, heaven help anyone with any dietary requirements, or a family on a budget!

Went to the one in Winchester today.

Started at 2 but didn't get in until 3 due to the security being tighter than passport control.

The event itself was not worth the price of the ticket. Just an opportunity to be overcharged by all of the sellers at the event.

Sausage in a roll starting at £8 and single cans of cider/beer starting at £6.50.

Been to other events at this location with this event being by far being the worst.

Attended this festival at the red fox, Wirral. Unfortunately more Perry than cider. Not cheap, £6 per pint, a bit more than I paid in Dorset and Somerset region. As for the sausage, basic type type could be bought in local shops, but not at £7.95 in a bun. Pity really, I was looking forward to it.

Despite having parking last year they manifestly failed to mention there was no parking this year at point of booking

So, we had tickets for June's 'Summer Sundays' festival in Tunbridge Wells, the bands were fab, the food and drink stalls dire! Queue 'Sausage & Cider' festival tickets at Quest Thanet in July and the stalls were exactly the same, rubbish mediocre food stalls and even worse bars. The main bars only selling 330ml cans of camden pale ale at £6.50, with another tiny bar selling pints of the same pale ale at £7. The best looking 'sausage' stall was chubbies which had big bowls of loaded fries and 3 different sausages included, but when we queued they had run out of the bowls by then so were only supplying cardboard trays, so noticeably less food, but for the same price and also harder to eat out of. The main part of the festival being the music was the worst thing of all. The sound was terrible, you could barely hear any of the acts from further back (it was packed) and having the silent disco right behind us meant any chance of hearing the bands on the main stage was drowned out by loud, terrible singing of the drunk punters in there, we had to move twice to try and get away from them all. Whoever decided to put the silent disco in that position obviously hasn't managed a festival before. We went to the Blue Reef festival on the Friday night and it was a completely different experience, well managed and run and great food and bar stalls. I wouldn't bother going again.

Not wasting too much of my time on writing a review it's rubbish over priced shockingly organised mess. 2 bands never turned up no rides or activities apart from face painting for kids even tho they are selling tickets for kids, go and do something else like watching paint dry.. don't come back to Aberdeen next year let someone else have a go.
