Scam scam avoid
Just scammed me on cleaning charges of 280 , on a sedan car
Gave me a car illegally without verification of documentation

I would like to report a complaint regarding a scam involving Moosa Rent a Car and Houston Rent a Car in Dubai. I booked a car through Houston Rent a Car, and they delivered it from Moosa Rent a Car in Ajman. When it was time to return the car, I wanted to drop it off at their office, as per their policy, but they insisted that I pick it up from my location.

According to the contract, a deposit of 1000 AED would be returned after 30 days. However, when I followed up on my refund, they initially did not respond. Later, I received a message detailing additional fees deducted from my deposit. I only had to pay for 44 km of extra mileage, but they charged me for 144 km extra, along with a 280 AED pickup charge. This does not make sense, as they charged 50 AED for delivery and 280 AED for pickup, with no prior notification mentioned during the booking process.

The contract states that additional charges apply for late returns, but I returned the car on time. I kindly suggest to not made any deal with them because they are scammers they charged you extra from your deposit my whole booking was 240 for a week and they charges 280 just for pickup, as I dont want to pay any additional charges. I would prefer to give that 280 AED to charity rather than contribute to what I believe is a scam.
Stay aware with these scammers and ask question while booking because after that they didnt even respond your text once you have car handy.

Guys please all file a case against them, and never stop complaining until this company gets shut down and the owner goes to prison. This is really unfair. WE ARE IN UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. They have to know this

they dont give the car as agreed, paid 45aed for car delivery. i said to replace the car given to me as it was not agreed but they want me to go to their office instead to change it myself. i didnt use the car so i said to cancel the contract but they said it was not refundable. i told them you can keep the money for car rental but return the 1k refundable deposit and take the car the next day itself. i didnt even use the car. i kept messaging everyday but car was take after 5 days only. they dont refund the 1k deposit, deducted 280aed because they said the car was dirty and 280aed because they picked up their car. i have to keep following up my own money. they only refunded 359.94aed and stoled 640.06 from me. very bad service, very rude people. they are scammers. dont ever trust them. i will file a criminal complaint against these scammers.

Wished there was an option to give -5 rating. Horrible experience. Please don't fall in their trap. It's a scam.
For monthly rental they will take 5 aed as delivery charge but when they have to collect the car they will send their person and later tell you pick up charge os 285 aed. When I asked why it was not informed they say its written in contract.
Everyday I got either SMS from them stating the insurance has expired or engine oil need change so get to garage.
The Renault Symbol i got from them for 1 month smelt like grease just come from garage. Initially they said 1200 aed for 1 month and i had a commitment for 3 months on second month they said now rent is 1700 for such a sub standard car. I say that because they tires are so old they don't get puncture but I have to fill air every 4 to 5 days.
They said first deposit refund in 21 days, then said 30 days, its already 45 days but still nothing.
Horrible service. No customer care at all. Please avoid them. I won't recommend even to my enemy.
Wonder how they can sleep peacefully at night.

Unfortunately to leave a review you have to give atleast 1 start, I would have liked to give the rating in negative for this company

Even after being educated, we fell for "Moosa" rental service and unfortunately, we did not read the reviews earlier as we have faced ALL the challenges mentioned by the users when we tried to get our refund back and there is way more to this !

First of all, they provided us a car whose battery died in the 3rd week of renting in the MIDDLE of the road with our 2 yr old kid. We tried very unsuccessfully to contact their employees to help us get the car repaired but after trying their innumerable contact numbers we had to call someone provately so that the car could reach our building. Finally, Mr. Hasan from their company came to repair it at 10 at night. Their legal department claims that we should have left the car in the middle of road instead of jump starting from our mechanic. HOW RIDICULOUS of us trying to take care of THEIR car !! Right ???
(They also refused to pay for the mechanic we got)

The story doesnt end here. On the day before our rental was due to end, we informed their employee to get it picked up. We had scheduled them to pick up at 6.30 pm, their driver calls at 4 pm that he will pick up at 4pm, we told him that we will be only available at 6.30 pm. At 7.45 pm when we called him we said he cannot come now but since we were leaving for the weekend we requested him to pick up. He had the audacity to tell us pick it not urgent and if we have a problem we should contact the office. BUT again as everyone knows, getting through Moosas customer care is a nightmare
After 4 freaking days they sent someone to pick up the car AFTER we followed up with him for the nth time.
AGAIN THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT HAD THE AUDACITY TO CHARGE US FOR THE DELAY FEES WHICH WE FOUGHT FOR 3 MONTHS !!! They finally agreed to forego this as we provided them with all the proofs.

Again for the salik, they charged us the salik amount for the day THEIR driver drove the car to their shop. APPARENTLY THAT TOO IS MY RESPONSIBILTIY TO PAY.

After I paid the salik and pick up charges(which was a whooping 280AED), their accounts department refunded our deposit AFTER deducting the delayed fees+VAT+Penalty. APPARENTLY THEIR INTERNAL LEGAL AND ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT DONT EVEN COMMUNICATE ABOUT WHAT IS TO BE GIVEN TO THE CLIENT

I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND AFTER PAYING MY DUES !! WE HAD RENTED THE CAR IN JANUARY 2025!

I am wondering how this company even allowed to operate !!!!

The don't give deposit back I send already claim in Duabi Police

I lost the key. Paid 1500aed for the replacement. They never brought it. So I couldn’t drive the car for 8 days.

Now they have made up charges to not have to send the deposit back.

Worst experience, liar and cheaters. Don't trust them. Avoid paying advance, if you paid then no means of return.

Bear in mind the “attractive rates” are promotional, there is a km limit and a hefty charge for additional kms for after the return. Delivery charged maybe negligible but pickup charges will be 4-5 times your delivery charges. Careful with your deposit you might end up with half. I personally wouldn’t recommend this place. Rude people as well.

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. Communication was poor from the beginning — they were slow to respond to messages and consistently late for both drop-off and pickup.
Despite agreeing on pricing via text, they later claimed the contract overruled those terms and charged me 350% more than what was initially discussed. When I requested a 3-day rental extension, they quoted me double the original daily rate.
Their actions consistently contradicted their words. I was told my refund would be processed within 30 days, but it actually took 46 days and multiple follow-ups. Even then, only part of the refund was issued, rather than a proper refund.
Attempts to resolve the issue by phone were equally frustrating. They refused to contact me with their accounts department, leaving no clear path for resolution.
Overall, the customer service was extremely poor. I would strongly advise against using this company

I had taken a car from them three years ago on installment as they advertising on social media Daily base own your car either then rent. We used the car for just one year and paid a total of 40,000, which was the agreed full amount. Later, due to some circumstances,

Despite this, they are still harassing us and demanding more money, which is completely unfair and unprofessional. When the full payment has already been made and the vehicle is no longer with us, there is absolutely no justification for these additional demands.

I strongly advise others to be cautious and avoid dealing with such parties. Always ensure everything is documented properly to avoid such issues

Scam. Completely scam. The car is indeed rented, but they will find any way to charge you additional fees. On top of that, they are very rude and disrespectful (and that's what bothered me the most). If you want to avoid problems, don't rely on them. Unfortunately, I didn't see this review page beforehand, but practically 90% of the reviews are one star.

My name is Mehul, and I am sharing this message to warn others about a highly unpleasant and dishonest experience I had with Houston Rent A Car and Moosa Rent A Car in the UAE.

Agreed Charges: AED 1,200 for one month + AED 400 for six extra days

Security Deposit: AED 1,000 (promised to be refunded within 21 days)

❗ The Issue:
It has now been over 45 days since I returned the car, and I have only received AED 69 as a partial refund of my security deposit.

Despite repeated attempts to contact the company through phone, SMS, and email, I have received no response. I even tried visiting their office multiple times, but:

The office is always closed

When I call, they often do not answer

They keep giving contradictory office locations — sometimes JLT, sometimes Al Quoz, and sometimes Ajman

⚠️ Conclusion:
This company appears to be operating fraudulently, deliberately avoiding customers and withholding security deposits. I urge everyone in the UAE to stay away from Houston Rent A Car & Moosa Rent A Car.

I also request the UAE authorities to investigate this company’s activities and help affected customers receive their rightful refunds.
