Do NOT rent a car from this company. They operate under multiple names—including Houston Rent A Car, Moosa Rent A Car, and HMA Superior Rent A Car—specifically to confuse customers and avoid legal accountability.

Their business model is a systematic scam targetting tourists. They lure you in with cheap daily rates, but the moment you return the vehicle, they will look for any excuse to steal your AED 1,000 security deposit.

In my case, they manually wrote "Car is Dirty" on the return agreement and then completely ghosted me on WhatsApp for weeks. When they finally responded, they sent a fabricated bill full of illegal charges, including charging 5% VAT on a refundable security deposit—which is strictly illegal under UAE law.

I have already filed an official fraud case with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (Consumer Protection) and initiated a chargeback dispute through my bank. Check their recent 1-star reviews; they are doing the exact same "dirty car" and fake tax calculation to dozens of tourists right now.

Save your money, your sanity, and your time. Avoid these fraudsters at all costs!

It's a bunch of absolute fraudsters who are bringing disrepute to the city of Dubai. These guys are running three firms, Moosa Rent A Car, Houston Rent A Car & HMA Superior Rent A Car. The MO is to to advertise cheap car rental in Dubai, lure the customer, offer a cheap per day rate and then block AED 1000 on his/her card.They will provide a run down filthy car which you will accept considreing it's cheap and within 4-5 days your own car will come back from the garage. They promise free delivery and pick at the time of booking. The fun starts after your car is picked up. I've paid AED 254 for 6 days rental for a Nissan Sunny 2020 model. The car was picked up from my residence on the 6th day. It's been 34 days, today I've received a message on WhatsApp stating that I need to send the receipt to refund.in.30days.moosagmail.com, which I promptly did. After a whle i received a message stating Car NISSAN SUNNY

Car pickup =320 +75 extra km used
Car dirty=280
Deposit amount =1000
Refundable amount =291.15

I'm copying and pasting the message here without changing anything. I'm not even sure if this AED 291 will ever be refunded to my credit card. So now I've paid more than AED 200 per day for a rundown car. Imagine they could do this with long-time Dubai residents like me, what must they be doing to tourists? I want to file a case and would appreciate it if others join to put an end to this thuggery. Pls file a collective complaint with Dubai Consumer Protection. consumerrights.gov.ae Pls connect. I rented a car from this company from January 23rd to March 24th 2026.

A 1000 AED deposit was paid in advance.

The vehicle was returned properly on March 24th and no issue was reported regarding the car.

Today, more than 40 days later, I am still trying to recover my deposit.

I contacted multiple departments and phone numbers:
- rental department
- accounts department
- refund contact

Nobody provides a clear answer and messages are frequently ignored.

The company is asking me for receipts and documents that were never provided to me at the time of rental or vehicle return.

No rental invoice was sent.
No deposit receipt was sent.
No vehicle return confirmation was sent.

After researching online reviews, I discovered many other customers reporting the exact same issue regarding deposit refunds and lack of communication.

Very disappointing and highly unprofessional experience.

I am now escalating the matter through official consumer protection channels in Dubai.

They actually need to get shut down. I have a reference number and I believe is being looked into.

They told me it will be returned in 21 days... which then became 30 days... and they keep on telling me to wait.

There are too many hidden charges that were never explained at the time of booking. The salesman only tells you what helps him close the deal, but later you find out about extra charges that were never mentioned. This is completely misleading.

Also, the salesman gave false information about the deposit refund. He clearly said it would be returned within 21 days, but now the accounts department is saying 30–31 days. This kind of mismatch shows poor communication and dishonesty.

The worst part is the accounts department—no response at all. I have been following up multiple times for my deposit refund, but they are not replying. Very unprofessional behavior.

I do not recommend this company at all. Be very careful—get everything in writing and double-check all charges, otherwise you will end up paying much more than expected.

This company is a cheater,scammer and fraud .be carefull you will loose your deposit and they will scam you.after 2 months that I was following for my deposite refund they sent a list of scamming costs and rubbed about 1500 from my pocket .ofcourse that I will make complain and will make big problem for them .but please take care .in the payment list they mentioned 280 aed for delivery ,280 for dirty car ,and all payments for rent ignored and they removed again from my deposit .I rented 2 cars and from 2000 they want to pay only 300 to me .take care and don't trust them

Worst experience ever.

Got a car or we can name it so for one week on 8 Feb, the yhold the amount of 1000dhs as deposit, they said they'll release it in one month, on 22 Apr, I received the refund, deduct 50dhs+VAT Admin fees (No one mention this fees at the beginning at all), they said it's written behind the deposit reciept!!

his is one of the most dishonest companies in the car rental market.

From my personal experience, they charged AED 280 for car pickup, claiming it was a “VIP service,” which seems unreasonable.

They initially confirmed the rental charges via WhatsApp, but the invoice later showed different charges. When questioned, they did not respond. It appears they take advantage of customers after receiving advance payments.

I am planning to file a complaint with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

I strongly advise others to avoid using this car rental company.

SCAM ALERT – Avoid This Company

I rented a Geely car from Moosa Rent a Car (Burj Al Madina) for 3 days and returned it on time without any issues. However, getting my deposit back turned into a frustrating experience.

Despite repeated follow-ups, they did not respond at all. Only after I filed a complaint with Consumer Protection did they suddenly contact me regarding the refund but with unreasonable deductions.

At the time of rental, they only mentioned delivery charges. Later, they added a hidden vehicle collection charge of AED 280. Out of my AED 1,000 deposit, I received only AED 490.

This is clearly misleading and unfair practice. If you check online reviews, many customers have faced similar issues delays, poor communication, and unjustified deductions.

It seems they attract customers with low rental prices and then recover money through hidden charges.

I strongly advise others to stay away from this company. Authorities should seriously monitor such businesses to protect customers from being exploited.

Do not rent from this company. Nothing but a scam

This is a shit fraud company , i asked for the deposit amount and thy are coming with different charges , which is shit , they told 150 km per day and while asking for deposit back they will show the receipt and say only 100 km , this is the biggest scam FRAUD WHICH the doing to people , called several time while taking they will disconnect, and wont call back .
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE FROM THIS FRAUD COMPANY .
This i will complain to TAM AND POLICE for sure .

Wir haben nach 44 Tagen noch nicht die Kaution zurück, im Vertrag steht nach 30 Tagen! Seit 2Wochen werden per WhatsApp immer hingehalten mit den Worten wir prüfen das, dann kam keine weitere Reaktion. Telefonisch nicht erreichbar! Ich verstehe nicht warum diese Betrüger in Dubai weiter dieses Geschäft betreiben dürfen?!

Very Bad experiance with Moosa Rent a car.

The deposit refund they are not refunding, mostly no response, they said ''Let me check'' but after that no response.
I was following for around 2 moinths now but still no proper response to get the deposit refund

they're cheaters, and rob you of your deposit money making excuses like car damage or car not cleant from the outside/inside, when the car was given to the customer in that condition.
