Refundor keeps the money that TUI submitted to their account 6 months ago

WIth a TUI flight December 2021 we were eligible to get a refund, which I claimed through Refundor. I got an approval from Refundor of the flight compensation claim (Nr 7PR-KNF-SWS) on 1 February 2022. However, we did not get the money yet, despite various reminders. We checked with TUI and they transmitted the money to Refundor on 14 January 2022! Six months later, the money is still in the hands of Refundor. On 14 July 2022, through Trustpilot, I submitted a review, and their response was that TUI hasn't paid, which is not true. We have the confirmation of their bank transmission, and they continue to say that 'they are working on it and will finish the case'... by when...? And will they? Readers of this review: do not claim any valid compensation of a flight delay through Refundor. Go directly to the airline!

Dear Annick, we apologize for slow communication. This spring and summer has been very hectic in travel industry, especially in Europe. Now more than ever airlines are very hesitant to pay flight compensation -- even when it's due and they have approved the payment.

Claimed for compensation 9 months ago, still nothing but most important is that they do not even reply to my emails. I chased them sending emails to be updated but after over a month of emails I am giving up . Shameful

Nice

Nice. If you don't want to contact airline yourself, this is a good option. These guys can do that on your behalf. And yes, it takes time, but still better than fight the airline only by yourself.

Great service

Great service. If you don’t want to waste your time on a flight compensation claim dealing with your airline yourself, Refundor is a great option. You need to sign one form, and the rest is done by these guys. It takes time, but if you are eligible to compensation, you’ll get it. It is way faster than dealing with this yourself though. 👍🏻

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, I wrote email also left message by messenger and no one ever replied me. I applied the compensation since Jan and received email from Refundor that the compensation has approved mid march but after that received no payment nor information about my compensation at all. I don’t know should I ask for other agent to help or continue to wait for Refundor.

Hi Carrie, it's very unfortunate that you have to experience that. The problem is that airlines now, since 2020, can be very slow with payments. They approve the compensation, but don't pay. Sometimes they pay 3 months later. Sometimes 6 months later. It's very frustrating. We have received your message and will answer you privately.

It's been 4-5 month since they recieved money from Airline but we did't

Overall experience is not pleasant. In my whole life, I have never seen a company that ignores my every try to communicate with them via different streams.
Our compensation case started in December 2021. It is now May 2022. Still, the case is not resolved and we are severely not satisfied. No money, no communication, nothing.
At the beginning of January 2021, we received a letter from Refund or saying that the Airline company agreed to compensate us and we gonna get the compensation soon. We filled (and fixed) our bank account details in the beginning of March 2022. Since then, we waited patiently for updates.
Now I've been trying to communicate with them for 3 weeks with no success. They just don't answer letters or Facebook messages.
That is certainly not in the agreement that we signed, where after approval and bank info it takes 10-15 working days to receive the compensation.
Even if in the end after so much time we gonna finally receive the compensation.
In the end, we are hugely disappointed and sad to have to deal with such a messy company that takes a bit more than 1/4 of the whole compensation for not taking into consideration their own rules.
The conclusion is simple if you want to save your time, actually receive your compensation, and don't give a chunk to some weird company, just contact the airline yourself :)

Катерина, we are sorry to hear that. Please contact us via email or Facebook, and we'll check your case. Most of cases take around 2-3 months, some cases take 6 or more months (if an airline doesn't pay, if we take a case to court, etc.).

It's highly likely that the airline hasn't yet paid your compensation. Since March 2020 it's very common, unfortunately. They say they are paying, but don't pay. And that's what can make the whole process significantly longer.

Good job in getting a compensation for me

Good job! My flight to Athens was delayed for several hours and the airline's staff told not to worry, because there are some technical problems and I will be able to apply for compensation later, but when I did it, I was rejected and the airline told completely different story. I was very frustrated and started to look for more information online on what to do in such cases and found Refundor's website. I completed their form and received a message that they will take care of all the process from now on. At first I was a bit sceptical, because they did not charge me any money, but to my surprise in about 5 weeks received an email where they said they got EUR 250 from the airline and in a few more days I received the money on my account. They withheld a fair share for their work and when I thought I will get nothing, I actually got back more than I paid for my tickets. Great job!

An airline must pay compensation if technical problems cause a long delay or cancellation (according to our experience, it's true in ~ 95% of situations).

Very easy to make the refund request

Very easy to make the refund request! Always replying my to update requests and got my refund with no stress definitely worth the fee. It takes a while, but that is on the airlines.
