I had a CCJ against someone and paid…

I had a CCJ against someone and paid £126 for this company to recover the money. All they did was make a few calls and tell me the person offered monthly payments.

I already had plenty of evidence of broken payment promises — that’s why I ended up going to court in the first place. When I complained, they stopped responding.

Honestly, I could have called him myself and received the same empty promises for free. Avoid this company, as they do nothing extra and everything depends on the debtor choosing to pay.

Absolute horrible people

Absolute horrible people, they don’t act properly, their staff are rude, tone of the emails are so rude and unprofessional. How can they not do an income and expenditure form and expect people to pay unaffordable rates. They don’t go by the book but by their unreasonable behaviour and tactics. Do not phone them and keep all emails. They pressure you into paying debt and don’t acknowledge your vulnerability. They need to be looked at as I seriously think they are not a good company. There are laws that protect people who are vulnerable and they have overstepped their boundaries.

Very easy process!

I have used Redwood Collections multiple times now and have been very happy with the process and outcomes. They are extremely informative and do all the leg work, saving you the stress and worry of chasing bills.

Beware

Beware! Every bad review they say isn’t a reasonable reflection, yet clearly all good reviews have been paid for which in turn will be reported, company changes hands more than I go food shopping! Bully tactics at best, will chase debts that ain’t legally standing, harass vulnerable people to pay debts that companies have made up, luckily this was caught by an account so I can take legal action myself against them. Oh and they add interest on at a daily rate so people can’t pay these debts off. Beware

AVOID Redwood collections SCAM Company

Redwood collections, which include Dean Kirby and his accounts team are utterly useless and will chase you to pay invoice upfront that was never explained properly. They will then inform you several months later that they approached the debtor and were unsuccessful in getting the debts back, which is what you paid them to do in the first place. I mean I have already approached the debtor myself, which is why I am hiring you guys. I suppose the good reviews here can't be real as this company just takes your money and runs. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Avoid like the plague

Avoid. Redwood do not do anything, they are just middlemen who add a layer of cost you don't need to pay. In common with some other reviewers, I was misquoted the cost of certain legal activities by Dean Kirby who refused to accept his mistake, cowardly and unprofessional. Fees were added to my account that I had no reason to expect. To put it in context, I paid Redwood more than the net amount I received from the debtor who paid voluntarily in the end. Redwood should have asked a lot more questions and done proper due diligence, as it turned out I didn't have a valid claim for the court action and I wasted my money, Redwood could have pointed this out had Dean known what he was talking about. Because he misquoted the fees I wasted a lot more than I expected too.
You can do everything Redwood do with the aid of a good solicitor. The law is not massively complicated and is explained on line Google money claims online, or county court money claim and all the forms can be found by Googling County court forms.
For business claims speak to Gareth at Harwood and Co in Leeds or for personal disputes try TM Fortis in Manchester obviously other firms are available, I have spoken to these two myself. Just steer clear of Redwood!

Not recommended

I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Their service was timid with the debtor and completely lacked robustness and muscle. When they had finally recovered enough of the debt (it took them a year!) to take their own fees they dropped the case like a hot brick, leaving me well short and having to take the debtor to court on my own for the difference. They were also extremely unprofessional and rude in responding to my fair criticism of their dismal service. One further issue is that they think they are extremely clever and their clients are downright stupid and unable to see through their self- interested methods of operating.

Stay away , Do not ever use this company.

I contacted Redwood collections to recover outstanding wages and expenses more than £23,000/- from my previous employer in November 2024, which I worked for more than 12 years. Instead of collecting a single penny from my previous employer, instead I had to pay £613.30 for Redwood collections their charges, but still Redwood collections took me to court asking for another £2,000/-. Now I got CCJ thanks to Redwood collections and they didn’t even help to recover the money I’m owned. Do not use this company, they not bother about your situation, they will rob even from a homeless person. Disgusting.
