Shambolic Service
Not surprised to read the other reviews.
I booked in a service to fix two aspects on the car. One required a part to be ordered in. We were not kept updated at all and I rang in but the Hatfield Stellantis branch didn’t ring me back.
Had to physically go in to he garage to sort the booking out and it turned out they had the part for a few days and didn’t ring us.
I can see why there are so many Peugeots on the lot and why no one is buying them as the service is so bad. I wouldn’t buy one again due to the poor service.. It’s embarrassing!! Avoid avoid avoid
I just recently bought a Peugeot GT…
I just recently bought a Peugeot GT electric 2008... Year 2025 which was bought on the 15th of September... I only bought this because my last Peugeot 2008 was a good car... I'm afraid buying this 2008 was a big . mistake...I know this might be trivial to some people but it's not too me...this car wasn't cheap yet you get no handbook with this car and you don't get any puncture kit ...so you can download the handbook which I think is ridiculous...or buy a handbook alongside a puncture repair kit... consisting jack wheelbrace sealant and compressor etc...no one explained this when buying the car and if I had known I wouldn't have bought a Peugeot...I personally think this is penny pinching by Peugeot...for all this would have cost to supply a handbook and a puncture kit... I just find it ridiculous not getting these items with a car and for that reason I wouldn't have bought a Peugeot...and never will again.
If I could have given no stars I would because that's what Peugeot deserve.
What a way too look after your customers shocking.
Wet belt
As with David Collings my 20 plate Peugeot 303 cut out on a busy M6 with oil pressure warning and limp mode - had to ring 999 and Highways Agency had to set up rolling road block to rescue me. I have tried to contact Peugeot UK all week as I think it is wet belt related - an issue which I am seeing more and more on various motoring websites. I have been told that unless I can produce evidence of oil used by Peugeot main dealer and Halfords over the last few years I would not be entitled to a special rate which although I have a FSH does not show type of oil specifically. Despite many contacts this week no one has got back to me to come to an agreed resolution
ABSOLUTELY DIRE experience with Peugeot
ABSOLUTELY DIRE experience with Peugeot. If I could score them a minus star I would! My 3008 has a factory recall on it due to the Cam Belt and I was never notified by Peugeot. The car broke down, caused by the Cam Belt, causing other engine issues. This was diagnosed by our local garage 5 weeks ago. We subsequently found out about the recall. It will cost me more than £4k to fix! I have since been left without a car which has made life extremely difficult. We reached out to Peugeot to assist and Peugeot have been beyond awful!! Despicable customer service! They don’t want to know, they don’t care and do not want to help, despite it being them who have used poor quality parts in 3008 cars. BEWARE, if you have these cars as this could end up being you! I will never buy a Peugeot again in my life and recommend you don’t either!
Peugeot Boxer broke down on 5th April
Peugeot Boxer broke down on 5th April. 20 month old model needs new engine I am told but Peugeot won,t cover it as we allegedly serviced with wrong oil, which we didn't, Peugeot used the same oil when servicing van at first service. Waiting for Peugeot to get back to me, meanwhile have spent over £10k on hire vehicles as they wouldn't lend me a van. 9 calls in last 4 weeks to Peugeot, and haven't as yet got speaking to case worker and no one returns calls
Peugot 208 Bought new Top many Recalls
We bought a brand new Peugot 208 Hybrid and it went into limp mode stop immediately. Pushed the cockpit Peugot Assist and they would not come out after a Q and A session the call handler deemed it as a software fault which they won't do🤣 Eventually they did come out after the third call as a gesture of goodwill!?? Since then, this brand new car now with 11k as had no less than 3 recalls!!! Now the dash has just gone off again 'stop engine' . Very poor!! Swansway Chester are the saving grace as they have completed all the warranty and recall work effeciently but the car just doesn't feel stable and reliable.
Peugeot Recall
We had a recall letter on our Peugeot 3008, camshaft drive chain needed to be checked. I looked at the approved places we could take it to and Arnold Clark at Stoke (where we purchased it) was on the list. It went in there working perfectly and came out running sluggish and with warning lights that said it needed repairs. I contacted Arnold Clark who said it was nothing to do with them. So I contacted Peugeot. They said they would look into it which would take 3-5 days. 2 weeks later and I've got no where with it. When I phone the case handler is waiting for Arnold Clark to get back to him and there is no manager to talk to, in meetings. They've also said 3 times that someone will phone me back. Still waiting. They cant even tell me if its safe to drive. Was thinking of trading it in next year. Wont be from Arnold Clark and it wont be a Peugeot.
Horrendous
Horrendous. Disinterested, disengaged. Never experienced anything like it. Don’t return calls or find solutions. Never getting a Peugeot again.
Daniella expert customer service
I had amazing experience with Daniella in Chiswick branch. I’m disabled and she attended to my needs with respect and compassion. Not rushed and she made sure I was in control of my decision. Usually once you get car you don’t hear no more. She has called to make sure all is ok and offers assistant when I ever I need it. I was made comfortable and her precise
Knowledge helped me understand. Best experience I’ve had
Terrible service buyer beware
Terrible service, I have purchased a new 5008 last year, so far 2 recalls and an electrical fault which after 4 weeks with the car the dealer has not been able to diagnose or rectify. The answer from the dealer is we can't find the fault so come and collect the car. When I refused they have informed me they have cancelled the insurance on the courtesy car. Peugeot customer care have not replied to my emails or dealt with the conversation I had with them.
Peugeot recall issues
My Peugeot is year old and I had a letter for recall got it booked in to a Peugeot garage . I think it's disgusting where I've medical condition the recall centre or Peugeot customer services can't get my car to a dealership for repair . As the car is possible to drive. It's not my fault . That's Peugeot for you
Appalling Service expexted better
When I brought two of my Peugeot vehicles I was under the impression that my extended warranty recovery and breakdown was with Peugeot ! A brand I had faith in ! Only to find out when I had suffered a break down I was suddenly in the hands of another organisation the RAC an organisation I have had several bad experiences with including once never turning up at all !! Today as soon as I heard RAC involved field with me with dread !! Despite the RAC stating there policy on a motorway situation is to attend around 45 minutes my team are still left on the side of the road with no toilet facilities !! Disgusted with Peugeot a brand I trusted outsourcing to a the RAC who I have now had repeated back experience with !! And there customer service and. Complaints are just as useless !!
5008 automatic 20 reg
5008 automatic 20 reg
Engine cut out on busy road while overtaking
Fault found to be WET BELT.
lucky to avoid serious accident
Peugeot know about the common wet belt problem but nothing said to at time of purchase
Car has only done 46 thousand miles but out of warranty. Spoke to customer sec who has poor English
Wet Belt on 2008 was faulty.
December 2024 I was driving my 2008 2019 plate, started losing power and pulled in at local garage. After checking it they said that there was a problem with wet belt and it had blocked various filters etc. I asked them to go ahead and sort out. Nearly 2 thousand pounds later I contacted Peugeot customer services and was told as they were aware of this problem they had put an 8 year warranty on it. Because I had not taken it to a Peugeot dealership they wouldn't cover the cost. I tried to explain that as I wasn't aware of this and let the other garage repair it. I tried to explain how dangerous this could have been if I had been on a motorway, losing power so quickly I could have caused a major accident. They really didnt care. I found out via another website that numerous cars with this problem had been recalled and owners written to. When I contacted Peugeot again they said my car didn't fit the criteria although they had already said it came under warranty. My car had aprox 54 thousand miles on it at the time. It is now 6 years old, so far the rubber cover on boot switch perished couple years ago, the rubber seal around driver door has been coming off for couple of years. The stop start system it was sold with has never worked. When I asked about it at first service I was shown a list of things that took power from engine so wasn't enough to let stop start system work.
This is my 3rd 2008 and will certainly be my last. They are definitely the worst company I have ever dealt with. Loyalty counts for nothing.
My 2nd review of Peugeot
My 2nd review of Peugeot, just don’t buy any stellantis car is my advice.
I have a 2019 Peugeot 508 SW diesel. The Eolys tank failed in Aug 23 which resulted in a £1700 replacement. Then 19 months later, when it was in the Peugeot garage for a drivers side window mechanism replacement cause that had failed to work, they informed me that this new tank was again leaking eolys fluid. No good will gesture and was told it’s a part that rarely fails, yet it had on my car twice now. All work was carried out by Peugeot at their own garage with genuine parts. Currently going through the motor ombudsman about this. Would also like to add that when the first tank failed there was proof that it had as eolys fluid was seen leaking from the undertray onto the ground (a reddish sticky treacle is the best way to descript it ) Yet 6 months on after declining to the replacement, there is no signs of leakage... I’ve also had to invest in a OBM2 reader simply to reset the adblue sensor which refuses to acknowledge an adblue top-up. Peugeot charge £120 just to plug there’s in, so I’ve already made my money back on that.
Faulty Towers of Car Service
Every company have issues and cars are complex machines. However it’s down to each company of how they handle these.
If Basil Faulty ran a garage we are getting close to the level of incompetency displayed. Not just one garage my cars been to 3 and has been stuck with the last one for 5 months.
Alarm bells should have been ringing when one advised they did a complementary oil change on my EV, of course you did!
another advised a knocking noise for the front suspension was due to a faulty fuel pump they changed. Wowser
the last where’s it’s been for 5 months they had to swap out the Oil pump!
Again it’s an EV. but it’s ok the front suspension knocking noise is clearly my Gearbox which they tried to charge me £5500 for whilst it’s under warranty. Now it’s been sat in the Garage forecourt since May waiting for the parts. every week it’s going to get solved next week.
Even had the cheek to tell me that 3 newer models have had there gearboxes switched it whilst mines been sat there gathering dust.
Even better my 2024 rental e208 just failed with traction failure and that won’t be seeing the road for quite some time. Throughout the whole time Customer service just seems to take it as a joke and not a single apology or care in the world.
i’m out of pocket hundreds in rentals i’ve had to cover in between them not being able to supply a car
Please avoid Peugeot products by all means
I am extremely disappointed with Peugeot regarding the ongoing situation with my vehicle, which has been at a Peugeot dealership for over 7 weeks awaiting parts from Peugeot. It is disheartening that no one has been able to provide any meaningful information about when these parts will be available.
Despite multiple attempts to contact the garage, I have only been advised to reach out to Peugeot directly, as they themselves have no answers. I have also contacted Peugeot severally, yet I have still not received any updates. This lack of communication and clarity gives the impression of serious disorganisation within Peugeot.
This situation has caused considerable distress, as our car remains unused in the garage while we continue to make monthly PCP payments for a vehicle we cannot drive. Based on this experience, we will not be considering Peugeot for any future vehicle purchases.
The customer service we have received has been wholly unhelpful, leaving us frustrated and deeply dissatisfied
Terrible customer care
This does not relate to the local Peugeot Dealer/service centre, Norwich. (Thurlow Nunn) They have been very responsive in trying to remedy a fault.
I purchased a 2024 408 1.2 GT 3 months ago. Traffic sign recocnition system doesn't function. Dealership trying for 3 months to get Peugeot/Stellantis to sort the problem. Getting no-where. Dealership gave me Peugeot Customer Care (joke) contact number, hoping a two fronted approach may help. I spoke to an "agent", was given a case number, then tried to explain the history and in middle of asking to speak to someone who may be able to help - the person cut me off, no discussion or help, phone just went dead in middle of my question. This happened twice. This is appalling cusomer service, not even worth one star.
How to lose £15k in 15 months
I have recently had a terrible experience with Peugeot, just 15 months after spending £19,000 (in cash!) on a second hand Peugeot 3008 car with their Stellantis Croydon branch.
We have serviced the car regularly and never had any issues, and it passed its MOT in November. We bought the car with 24,000 miles and are now at 31,000 miles. The 12 months warranty we received expired in November 2024.
Recently my wife broke down on the way to work and she was picked up by roadside recovery. That day, the private garage told us that our 'dual mass flywheel' had failed, which they say is highly unusual for a 3 year old car and after only 31k miles, and quoted us £3k to repair it. We called Peugeot, and opened a claim for a goodwill repair, given the cost of repair and the failure of a core component of the car which is well outside of what should be ‘normal’ wear and tear. Peugeot Head Office advised us to have a diagnostics check with Peugeot Stellantis directly. So we took it to Stellantis Croydon on the next available date 3 weeks later (delivered at our own cost, as we cannot drive it) and they reported the same issues, plus more issues they identified (some included broken bolts inside the engine!), and quoted us £5.3k to repair the car. We called Peugeot's Head Office again to get an update on the goodwill repair and they had not reported the original case, so I had to submit it again and was told to wait 5 business days for the Head Office to speak with Stellantis Croydon.
We have now gone 9 weeks without a car that we paid £19,000 for 15 months ago, which failed 5 months after the warranty expired. It is currently not road safe, and we are stuck between selling it on Ebay for scrap/parts for £4k or paying £3k to 5.3k on the repair. We have just spent a summer break with our family (incl. 4 year old) car-less and relying on trains, buses and taxis for the entire summer at huge cost and inconvenience. The customer care from Peugeot is absolutely appalling, considering how few miles the car has completed for a part like the flywheel to have failed. For the sake of a £5k repair, they are sacrificing a buyer who paid £19k cash on a car directly with their garage only 15 months ago.
This is a company with £62billion revenues last year.
We have now reached out to Rip Off Britain, Katie Morley the Consumer Champion at The Telegraph but if anyone else is reading this and has encountered a similar issue with their Peugeot 3008 please do reply to this as I am keen to raise awareness. If you have a better understanding of our rights on this, too, any help is appreciated!
This is my Bad Romance!!
The fantastic treatment from EVERYBODY at Peugot, not least from the Sale showroom. I sourced my new Peugeot 208 from Bristol to be delivered to Sale. This was superb customer service; I was sent an in-depth video of my car, photos, everything I needed to see before my test drive, at which point I INSTANTLY knew this was the car for me personally, my 4th Peugeot and I am fully committed to the brand. I could not be happier with my new car, OUTSTANDING service.
