My eyesight and my life have been ruined by laser eye surgery at Optimax. The quality of my vision is awful, and the eye strain that comes with this makes life unbearable at times. I felt so alone and so depressed following my Lasik surgery. I was eventually put in touch with Sasha Rodoy, and I that's when I realised the extent of the problem, these high street laser eye clinics are ruining the eyes and lives of thousands of people, they are run by greedy business men who do not care once they have your money. I found comfort in reading other peoples stories on Sasha's website OERML, and the advice and contacts that Sasha provides are amazing, she really did pull me out of a very dark and depressed place. I met Sasha and she truly is a lovely person who tirelessly campaigns for better regulation of the laser eye surgery industry. Sadly I was taken in by the advertising of Optimax, perfect vision and so on... what a joke! If only I had heard of Sasha Rodoy sooner I would of saved myself and my family a lot of heartache. I wish I had found this web site before my surgery with optical express it may have made me think long and hard before having Laser Eye Surgery. I had no idea that there were as many people suffering the same problems as myself, and worse until I found Sasha and her site. Optical Express did ruin my eyes and my life, and they must be made to take responsibility for their actions. Listening to other people tell their account of their botched surgery on Opticalexpressruinedmylife has helped me enormously with advice and to come to terms with the problems I am now facing for the rest of my life. I cannot recommend Sasha's site enough and for all the help and contacts I have gained from this site, I thank you. If anyone reading this review is just thinking of going for Laser Eye Surgery please take a look at Sasha's site and it may just save your sight. I was unable to find any negative reports for RLE surgery untill I found OERML, how I wish I'd found this site pre-op. Thank you Sasha you are a shining light in a very dark corner. Unfortunately all the other shining lights I experience are like being in a horror movie with glare and starbursts affecting my night driving and confidence and if that was the only problem I might feel I'd escaped lightly. 8 months post RLE with Optegra I have several serious problems I didn't have before and can truly say having to this procedure has been the worst decision I have ever made. Keep up the excellent work!

I was told I could go ahead with laser eye surgery although not lens replacement. Everything's fine they said! After dubious marketing techniques that are illegal -they told me the price on the day was only for a cancellation but it was available whenever- I paid a deposit and some months later went to a different address for surgery.
I was asked to fill in the most comprehensive disclaimer ever.. They like to try and cover themselves. You won't get past reception if you dont sign in about twenty places minimum.
Then you go to see the doctor. Luckily -so luckily! -for me I encountered a doctor fed up with their practices. I was apparently at a place where all the people who weren't suitable for surgery are processed to see if the best doctors can operate. This doctor was telling people the truth. May he be forever blessed. I could see the operating theatre through some windows as he explained I should never have been told I could have surgery. I have a squint and the procedure could leave me with permanently blurred vision and at best the effects would be negligible. He explained the doctors are under immense pressure to meet targets and he would be reprimanded for not proceeding but he couldn't carry on following their guidelines.
I was shocked. More so when I was later told another doctor would happily perform surgery and I couldn't have my money back. I was confused and STUPIDLY still considering whether to go ahead. There is never any negative comment about Oe and you tell yourself its a high street shop- it must be ok. Well, IT'S NOT. IT IS COMPLETELY UNREGULATED.
Then I met Sasha Rodoy. She kindly gave me the information on the realities and let me know how lucky I was to have met this surgeon as any other would have just gone ahead. She helped me get my money back and come to terms with it.
I have nightmares and I didn't have surgery. I send kind wishes and deep sympathies to those affected by the terrible, medieval practices of Optical Express.
Don't go near them. Be happy with glasses. Seek out the information. Listen to other people.

OERML, is fighting for stricter regulations in the barbaric and corrupt refractive eye surgery industry, in order to protect the public, and also offers support to the many refractive eye surgery victims, such as myself.

Opticalexpressruinedmylife have been a great help to myself and many other damaged patients and is working hard to get the government to regulate the refractive eye surgery industry .

Optical Express sold me Lens replacement surgery when i should not have had it. I have since been told by a leading eye surgeon that it was the wrong surgery for me.
I needed reading glasses only but now i have no distance vision in my right eye and with my left i see shadows .I also suffer very bad night vision including star bursts and halos .I now use eye drops every day for dry eye (something i never suffered before)
Until this happens to you ,you can not imagine what it is like at night in a town or around lights.
Optical Express refuse to meet with me to explain what went wrong and will not refund my money.
When this company ruin your eyes they just want you to go away.
Their hard sell practice is no better than double glazing salesmen .
AVOID AT ANY COST !!!!!!!!!!

Sasha Rodoy has been working tirelessly to regulate the laser eye Industry since I met her back in 2014. I honestly just wish I could have discovered her website before I allowed Optical Express to damage my eyes back in 2012. However without her understanding, advice and support I would be in a much worse place right now then I am. She has allowed me to see how many others have been damaged by this despicable industry, without her I would still be trusting Optical Express and thinking I am a rare case and I just got unlucky.

Her hard work has stopped so many people from going ahead with procedures and they really will never know how lucky they have been to find Sasha and opticalexpressruinedmylife.co.uk.

I just wish this site had been about years ago before I made the fateful decision to undergo lasik eye surgery. If I had been able to read factual info' about the real risks and also the permanent devastating eye damage that large numbers of patients are left with, there's no way I'd have risked my most precious sense being utterly ruined. I was shocked to discover many years after my ops that the UK refractive eye surgery industry is unregulated. Yes, UNREGULATED, hence damaged patient Sasha Rodoy's herculean efforts to get this changed by running her campaign with this site and facebook page. There are countless numbers of people like myself who would be in a very bad place without her campaign and the personal help as well that she selflessly offers to damaged patients when there is nowhere and no-one for them to go to.

I don't know how I would have managed without the support that OERML gave.

I had lens replacement surgery three years ago by Optical Express to correct my long -sighted prescription. My sight straight after the op was worse than before surgery. I was seen by an opthalmic sugeon the following week in OE's clinic in Bristol. He confirmed that the wrong power lens had been implanted in my eye and I was now short-sighted! I would never have had surgery if I had known that this error was possible. It is classed in the medical profession as a "never event"! OERML has been invaluable in helping me with my claim against the company and also provided personal support 24/7.
