Well done Nicholsons
I have been using Nicholson’s for a number of years and have aways found Clare excellent. She listens to your problems and explains everything very well and is never in a hurry, which is great. She is also professional and friendly.
Bonnie and Holly always helpful and go the extra mile and they are a credit to the practice. If I have a problem with any of my glasses they are always there to help and fix the problem. All in all it’s a great optician and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Early 2025 I visited Nicholson Eye care for my routine check, following many years of excellent service (a 30 mile round trip). On this occasion I was advised that my Cataracts had deteriorated to the point where they would need attention within the next year or two. I agreed to be referred for attention and have had both eyes sorted, a new prescription and spectacles supplied ready for 2026.

Fantastic experience with first Varifocal prescription
Fantastic experience with Nicholson Eyecare. Having recently felt my eyesight deteriorating and sensing it was time to upgrade to varifocals, I opted for an enhanced eye test with Clare, who was incredibly thorough and professional throughout. I’m delighted to say my first varifocal prescription has been a great success! I adjusted to the varifocals on the first wear, with none of the side effects I feared and crystal clear vision. I would highly recommend Nicholson Eyecare for a great eye care experience.

I am so satisfied in all respects with Claire Dawkins and her Nicholson Eyecare in Bransgore Dorset. Claire is a true professional. I have just had my first experience of her optical skills for the first time. She was recommended by a friend. Claire is a perfectionist. She is detrermined to guage your eyeset capability in great detail and has the most comprehensive examination equipment I have experienced. She takes her time with the emphasis being on accuracy and the client receiving glasses that are going to match the requirements of her clients. What a wonderful experience
What a wonderful experience! A very detailed examination and fully explained too. Claire is very patient and informed my why I have high eye pressure etc. I feel very safe and happy in their hands and would not go back to a well known high street opticians again. All the ladies were very helpful friendly and courteous from start to finish. Thank you Claire, Holly and Bonnie.

First rate optician
I have been coming here for many years and it always delivers. The examination is very thorough and any changes explained for you to understand. Their are plenty of frames to choose from and help with this is there if required.

I find visiting Nicholson Eyecare a pleasure, always greeted with a smile. Very efficient, prompt service when ordering new glasses or getting repairs. Clair is so good at explaining things in plain English and has a lovely manner, makes having your eyes tested easy. I would recommend a visit.

Nicholson's rule, okay!
One of the most thorough, careful, helpful and considered eye tests I've ever had, using a variety of modern machinery and essential human skill and knowledge...followed and backed up by the shop floor, I think Hollie and Bonnie. Nothing was too much trouble. And importantly, my vision in my new specs is fantastic meaning they got a complicated prescription right! Which it wasn't at a previous well known chain that I'll never go back to!
