I had a fantastic experience with Lyons Bowe Solicitors. The app was incredibly useful for keeping track of everything and making the process straightforward. Maddie Coles was particularly brilliant—always helpful, responsive and supportive throughout. She made what could have been a stressful process feel much easier. I would highly recommend Lyons Bowe and Maddie for their excellent service!

Fast and efficient service. The onboarding team were excellent though the process of verifying funds etc is quite exacting. Jonas was excellent at keeping me up to date with progress during searches etc. Jayden was efficient and polite, dealing with all professionally when the process got a bit bogged down by other parties

My experience of Lyons Bowe using them for the second time (first as a buyer) was mixed. Individuals within the company are extremely helpful, and I was particularly impressed with the administrative team and our completions worker Finn Erasmus. However, I would only recommend using them for a straightforward sale, and only if you are the seller. If you are buying and therefore need to take additional care to protect your interests, and if your sale is anything other than entirely straightforward, I would use a proper solicitor. Because of lack of qualifications and experience and because you don't have access to a qualified solicitor, the full advice needed was not available to us and a mistake was made which slowed things down. However, for a fast, straightforward and efficient sale, I would certainly recommend.

Communication was faultless throughout the whole process, conducted with courtesy and professionalism, which took away the stress of buying and selling a house.

Our experience with Lyons Bowe during the sale of our existing property and purchase of our new home was unfortunately far more stressful than we had anticipated.

One of the biggest frustrations throughout the process was communication. Much of the contact appeared to be driven by us rather than proactively managed by the conveyancing team. We regularly found ourselves having to chase for updates, often leaving repeated answerphone messages before receiving a response. At times, this left us uncertain as to what was happening, what remained outstanding and whether important actions were actually progressing.

We also experienced delays and uncertainty around proposed completion dates, with matters sometimes appearing to be dealt with later than we would have expected. The changing arrangements had wider consequences for us, including having to alter removal arrangements and amend our home insurance dates, which resulted in additional administration costs. As we were managing both a sale and purchase, any uncertainty also had a knock-on effect on the rest of the chain.

When we did manage to speak directly with members of the team, they were generally helpful and the transactions were ultimately brought through to completion. We fully appreciate that conveyancing involves several parties and that not every delay will be within a solicitor’s control. However, our main concern was not simply the existence of delays, but the lack of proactive communication around them.

A short update, even where there was no significant progress, would often have prevented the need for repeated calls and answerphone messages. Clearer ownership of outstanding actions, more regular updates and earlier identification of potential problems would have made a considerable difference to our experience.

We are pleased that our sale and purchase have now completed, but overall the process was considerably more difficult and stressful than we feel it needed to be. I hope Lyons Bowe take this feedback constructively, particularly around client communication and keeping people informed throughout what is already a very stressful process.
