Don't think I would buy from again

Phone is good other than a label on phone saying Mic sounds horrible. Phone also wasn't reset with previous customers info on it which I reset myself. Reached out and got a good response from customer service but options are to come and get phone reset in shop but I did myself. The mic does sound horrible. I am surprised they didn't see label or just took phone in and graded it and sold it without doing anything. Previous must have told them Mic sounds horrible as he had looked it up in his search history. I don't know but I don't want to take in and be stuck with no phone and it's just hassle. I use headphones mostly anyway but don't think I will use cex again.

Please accept my unreserved apologies for any inconvenience you had to go through with your order, and I understand the points you have raised.

We deal in used items, and one of the crucial checks in our testing parameters is to ensure no data/accounts belonging to the previous owner are left on the device. Data deletion and account removal are mandatory before getting the item for a sale, where, after suggesting that customers do this, we then do another courtesy check.

Along with this, we have testing guidelines in place where the functionality of the items are checked, and only once they pass the set parameters, they are purchased and sold forward. I would like to assure you that this case has already been forwarded to the respective management of the store involved and based on the final findings, procedural assessment will be undertaken.

XBox I ordered was broken

XBox I ordered was broken. When I brought it back to the shop, the person working there didn't even apologise. Told me to come back in 40 minutes. When I returned they told me they had figured out what was wrong. Then they told me they were giving me a refund because they didn't know what was wrong! No explanation or apology.

Unfathomable levels of incompetence

Bought 130€ Sony Wf-1000xm5s, got delivered Linkbuds s, handed them in for Sony wf-1000xm4, ask if they test the battery as it is a famous issue for them "we dont", ask if it's included in the warranty? "Yes". Go home, test, battery faulty, hand it in for Galaxy buds 2 pro the next day, turns out the battery on the charging case doesn't work, go back to hand it back in to get a replacement, "we need to run a warranty check for 30 minutes" alright, leave, come back "couldn't figure out how to fix the issue, here's your replacement". Thank you cex for not only sending me the wrong earbuds but also not testing your products, even when it's a known issue.

Bought an 'Unboxed PS4'

Bought an 'Unboxed PS4', I'm not sure if this is actually what CEX are able to do, or if it's my fault for buying an unboxed PS4, but the controller they sent me with it was drifting like crazy. It was totally unusable.

Paint over figure

I have alrready written about one of my figures not getting sent due to it being unsellable, the other came in today COVERED IN PAINT, unsellable messy paint. what an ABSOLUTE JOKE.

I wish to speak to the higher ups at cex, the staff in cex tallaght are lazy and incompetent. I expect my money back AND more. Not a HOPE I am going to the post office with this, what an ABSOLUTE JOKE you expect me to pay 9 euro for this.

Scam. Absolute scam. I expect a PROPER response and not the same ai crap you keep sending me. Disgusting. worst birthday present EVER.

I should be sent a replacement as well as getting my money back as the bare minimum. this was absolutely unacceptable this was allowed happen when cex demands so much and charges so much

Ordered an Xbox one wireless controller…

Ordered an Xbox one wireless controller and received the budget Xbox 360 wired controller? returned in store and then ordered a different wireless controller online, everything was fine, a week later I get an email to say that the item was not in stock, would have been nice to know before ordering

According to our records, I see that the purchase in question was made in November 2024 and that the order was refunded in line with our return policy.

Further, we regret to learn that one of the items from your previous orders could not be accommodated.

As CeX does not have a centralised warehouse, the stock is sourced from various CeX stores across the region. Thus, in instances such as yours, before the online order is processed, it may be noticed that products may be sold in the store, assigned to another online order or may not be in a condition to be dispatched.

The next time you place an order with CeX you may include the same item again along with the other items, if available in stock

The phone wasn't factory reset properly…

The phone wasn't factory reset properly from the shop and after I had been out all day the battery went flat then required a draw code to get into the phone that I hadn't set and must have been set by the previous owner. I was down the county at a wedding and had no phone for the weekend. It had to be reset again and whatever pictures and video I got at the wedding are now gone. It wasn't the most ideal situation.

Also when I went into the shop to see about getting a phone the staff in letterkenny were so unhelpful and bothered. That is why I had to order online. The customer service was very poor.
