Very good communication all round

Very good, clear communication from the office about expected delivery slot and phone call ETA from the crew on the morning of our delivery. Craig and Gary were our polite and efficient delivery team. They unwrapped and took the mattress upstairs to where it was needed for us. Thank you!

Not fit for purpose

They have failed to deliver our mattress to us on 3 separate bookings. The first time their van broke down, the second time their one and only delivery driver was sick, and they didn't even bother giving excuse for the 3rd. Each time has required one of us to take a day off work for it.

The worst service i have ever…

The worst service i have ever experienced truly quite unbelievable i dont have words !!
First delivery attempt of a very small one person sofa bed was sent the text informing afternoon and would receive a call when at the drop before so 6hrs waiting in by my 78year old mum who wasnt living at the property yet which they were informed of prior !
No phone call no sofa no phone call the next day i then had to chase only to be told it was due to the weather which was a complete lie due to it not freezing till the next day !
I then receive a message for 5 days later delivery again no time given so explain and ask could we have a shorter time schedule due to not receiving prior and my elderly mum waiting ?
It was a flat no and then lost my sunday slot as was waiting for john lewis to get involved and sort the issue with them as i purchased through john lewis i was then sent an 8 day later slot am between 7am and 10am my mum walked to the property at 6.30am and waited till 10.30am no show i then had to ring them as no phone call they told me a section of the sofa was missing ( one seater sofa bed ) comes as a whole so still no sofa 😡 eventually leading to another delivery date which was yesterday a week later 6 hr slot sofa didnt turn up again by this point im totally bewildered i ring to find out the problem and was told they hadnt put it on the van WTH so ive last night another message to say it would be today another 6hr pm slot so the review is here to hopefully help somebody else not go through this and avoid the worst service i think i have ever received !

Absolute terrible service

Absolute terrible service. Ordered couch from dfs in November and still waiting on delivery. I got email 5pm Christmas day to say it would be delivered on 26th... This never showed up. Then I got less than 24 hours notice for next delivery date on Sunday 28th Dec but I was not at home. Been ghostly silence since. No reply to emails. On hold for ages before can speak to anyone. Was told last week they'd have update on 20th Jan. I rang today and was told it was being delivered by a different company. But could tell me no details of who they were or even where the couch currently is. I asked for call back with update once they have details and was told they couldn't make outbound calls! Absolute Joke of company with zero communication

I ordered a mattress from Simba in the…

I ordered a mattress from Simba in the Black Friday sale and despite chasing Humber Services by phone and email there was no reply. Eventually the mattress arrived on the 6th January but despite paying for the VIP service which included two men for delivery of the new mattress and collection of the old mattress only one man turned up and my house sitter had to help him to take the 60 kilo mattress upstairs! The old mattress could not be collected but the driver promised to arrange collection. After waiting a week I contact Simba whilst on a cruise in Asia and Dan has been trying to get a reply from Humber and as at todays date the 21st January there is no reply. I have worked in the Logistics industry for 43 years and this is the worst service that I have seen

Thoroughly disappointed

Drivers very nice but only one sofa of the two I had ordered arrived, and had to wait over a week for the second one to arrive. Ordered sofas from DFS on 25th November and promised delivery before Christmas. On the 20th Dec we were told by DFS the order was stuck in a container at a port and would not arrived before Christmas, but Humber Services tracking page showed that they had received them in warehouse on 7th December. Very bad service all round.

Really poor experience like so many…

Really poor experience like so many other recent reviews. Purchased Simba mattress 22.12 and arranged delivery for 17.01 in time for our completion date. Slot confirmed for 17.01 afternoon. Received a call 3-4 hours ago to say that they were 16 minutes away. It’s almost 18:30 and no sign of a very needed mattress. We need somewhere to sleep over the weekend!!!!! I want to make a complaint please. The order number is HS2448619-4438

An absolute disaster of a company and…

An absolute disaster of a company and basically to reiterate what other people have said, this company shouldn't even exist. DFS should cut ties with immediate effect to avoid this continuous disappointment with their customers. They have no care or consideration for the people who have paid for their products, they DO NOT communicate with DFS who have been chasing them for information including emails and phones calls that never get answered, they are an absolute shambles and it bewilders me why DFS still do business with them. There is an obvious opportunity here for anyone looking to start up a delivery company and take all contracts from this so called company.

5 failed delivery attempts

5 failed delivery attempts, 2 months later and still no complete delivery. Humber has extremely poor communication and horrible customer service team that provide no help. All they do is give excuses, seems like no one is actually working in this company. On top of that the one time they did show up they broke our lift!

Great service

Great communication from Liam regarding delivery and times. Both Liam & Brandon showed nothing but professionalism and respect towards both myself and my Husband.
They both worked promptly to put together the suite and cleared all rubbish away. Couldn't reccomend enough, two grand boys there.

Please, just avoid at all costs. Horrendous customer service & full of lies

I have no idea how this company is still in operation as we have been let down and lied to them repeatedly. I’m amazed to see that they have 84% positive reviews on here but then I have realised that their most recent reviews are clearly fake as they state they had deliveries when this company was closed. You know how bad they are when they can’t even get that right. Anyway before buying from either DFS or Simba, just check as both of these companies use Humberservices and there will be little chance of you actually getting what you paid for.

As a company we do deliver evenings and weekends as well as weekdays. Our customer service department are currently contactable Monday- Friday until 4pm and Saturday until 12pm. However, we do have plans in place to extend this within the upcoming month in order for us to meet demands.

Disgraceful company

Disgraceful company. Delivered half of our order (late) in December, lied about the missing item being DFS's fault. DFS basically washed their hands of the matter as Humber are a seperate company (despite the fact that they employ these losers), and suggested we contact them directly. They NEVER answer their phone. I do not believe any of the positive reviews on here, some were done on dates when Humber were actually closed for Christmas. Absolute nightmare from beginning to end. Were supposed to deliver rest of order today (finally), got a text confirming it last night, and this morning gor a text cancelling delivery due to driver 'illness' (read all the other negative reviews to see how often this excuse is used). Now trying to get information out of DFS as to when we are likely to get delivery but they dont know either, as despite them employing Humber, they apparently only have the one phone number for them (its the same one the public use, the one they never answer). I will NEVER buy from DFS again due to these cowboys. An embarrassment to DFS and to themselves.

Horrible communication and customer experience

I'm fuming.

For weeks on end, I've been trying to arrange delivery of my bed from Simba, but they haven't responded to my calls or emails. They then postponed the process by 2 weeks. Finally, my delivery was confirmed for today, and I got the confirmation yesterday evening! Only to wake up to a message saying, "your delivery today has been cancelled and we'll call you to reschedule." I had to stay home from work just to accommodate the delivery.

Absolutely horrible experience. I would not recommend any company hiring them for deliveries; it will backfire on your reputation. I will not order from Simba anymore because they use Humber services.

Substandard premium service

Waited them to deliver a Simba mattress for over a month in December. I had to cancel the order.

Reorder from simba again and opt for the premium delivery option. Bad omen, it is this company again. Waited for a month, the wait continues…

Told them I am free on Thursday, they ll offer to deliver on Tuesday.
Told them I am free in the morning, they ll offer to deliver in the afternoon.

Poor communication, not accommodative.

Bed delivery & assembly from Simba

Bed delivery from Simba, and like many other 1 star reviews on here there were missed delivery slots, one driver coming on his own with no tools for an assembly service and the latest being a bent headboard replacement as the original was the wrong colour.
I feel sorry for the drivers as they are the ones that get the brunt of people's frustrations by the sounds of it. Response below is pure platitudes and doesn’t offer to solve my still ongoing delivery problems.

Unreliable, no communication, phantom "attempted delivery"

Ordered new mattress from Simba and removal of old mattress. Fixed a delivery date, was provided with AM slot, made arrangements to be home that day. 11:54am get text from Humber saying that delivery might get pushed to PM slot and they would update with ETA. No further notifications received, mattress never arrived. When we followed up with Humber they claim they attempted delivery but no one answered, and that they had also called. Not possible as I was home, would've heard the door, and had no texts or missed calls. Claimed they had taken photo of house and quoted house and door colour as evidence but would not share due to "data protection reasons". Why can't I see a photo of my own house? Anyone can google a house on street view so that's no proof at all. When we complained they said they would follow up to book an new delivery date that day. They didn't call back. They haven't been in touch since.
Can understand that deliveries don't always go to plan but at the very least would expect updates, attempt to rectify the situation and honesty.
Safe to say that unless Simba find another courier partner we won't be ordering with them again.

Poor

Humber Services were the designated “VIP” service for Simba Beds. I think for them VIP translated to vague, insufferable, and poor. Initially delivery was confirmed to be 24/12. I stayed in on Christmas Eve for this delivery. No one arrived. No phone call. No indication delivery would be made. Nothing. Christmas plans had to be changed to accommodate for the lack of communication. Not to mention customer service (despite being the quoted number to call for issues) was closed till 06/01. Humber suggested in their updates that they attempted delivery on 27/12, this is a lie. No phone call was received and no confirmation of delivery either. The 2nd official attempt was 10/01.. again I waited all day for this… having to take time off work for such. Again, nothing. 5 hours after delivery was due I received a message that the van had broken down.. this seems to be a common occurrence? Maybe better vans might be the option? Or truthful communication… or any communication at all? Again “customer service” closed at 12pm but prior to this tried to call x5 times to be cut off after 15 minutes.
Delivery finally arrived on 12/01 after many attempts. The main reason this is 1 start and not 0 is I cannot fault the delivery drivers, they were attentive, professional, and quick in assembly

£2500 spent with Simba and deliveries never turned up TWICE

On 29th November I ordered a bed, mattress and pillows from Simba, spending over £2,500, and my experience has been nothing short of frustrating.

The website advertised delivery within 10 days, but that timeframe was not met so I got in contact with them to book delivery. When my delivery was finally scheduled for 23rd December, it was cancelled on the same day, citing a vehicle breakdown. This was not believable as I knew 23rd was their last delivery date before Christmas, and they were busy so I imagine they’d just overbooked themselves.

I had to then chase Simba for a rescheduled delivery which was booked for today - 10th Jan 2025, on the afternoon slot. I have waited until 5pm to call and check on progress to find that both Humber (delivery) and Simba have finished for the day.

The ongoing lack of communication and reliability is unacceptable. I’ve spent a considerable amount of money with Simba and am bitterly disappointed that it’s not been delivered on two occasions by Humber.

My experience has left me very dissatisfied. I would advise potential Simba customers to be cautious when ordering, as the delivery process has proven to be a significant hassle.

Staggeringly bad "service"

I can't believe how bad the service is!! No delivery of my mattress and no communication on the 23rd when I wrote the first review. I tried calling to see what was going on a number of times but no one answered. A second delivery was booked for the 9th only to be cancelled mid morning due to "driver injury". A third delivery date was then booked for today, Sunday 12th AM. It is now 7 PM and no delivery. No phone calls, no texts, no emails to keep me updated, NOTHING! So three times I have stripped the bed and moved furniture around only to receive NOTHING. Three days I have wasted waiting for a mattress I paid for weeks ago. I was right on the 23rd Dec to wonder whether the mattress would ever show up after reading the Humber reviews.

Terrible company

Terrible company, do not use, ordered new couch through DFS , they use Humber as their delivery service, waited in all day , had old couch removed as instructed , contacted humber via text & they assured delivery was still happening, this wasnt the case, still sat here waiting at 9pm on a saturday evening DFS charged £129 for delivery what a joke , do not use this company for delivery, shocking service beyond belief.
