I love my healthcare provider but HealthPartners is the ACTUAL worst
I love my healthcare provider, but HealthPartners sucks! They charge your insurance company money to send your healthcare provider a message (the only place I’ve been to that does this) and their version of MyChart basically offers no access to any health information… It’s really gross to feel so taken advantage of. You have to pay money to ask your provider a simple question but HP really doesn’t give you anything of value; your provider does in the limited capacity that they can.
I brought my son to healthpartners…
I brought my son to healthpartners today. The doctor was 20 minutes late. I didn't expect an apology but it would have been nice. The problem I'm having is when my son brought up an issue he's having the doctor literally said "I don't know what to tell you. I don't have time for this." Never again.
Driving Form
I had a form that needed to be filled out and signed by my doctor. They took their sweet time with the form and caused to me have my license suspended. Now I cannot drive and nobody seems to care that much. Apparently, nothing can be done until Wednesday and it is Monday. Keep in mind that I sent this at the end of March, and then again last week.
Worst health insurance I’ve ever had
Worst health insurance I’ve ever had. They actually quoted me a $325 premium for a Medigap policy. More than double the average rate.

Only open on weekdays,,,,,,,nice cushy doctor job when he won’t renew my prescription for blood pressure medication until I see Dr. Ladner again? I hated him the first time, why would I go back, he was a ass, that refused to return phone calls for more than a month

Phones do not get answered and their provider portal is unable to find facility via NPI or Tax ID which means it is impossible to verify eligibility and benefits. Their refusal to answer their phones makes their whole operation seem illegitimate
Professional response. Not a, “sure”.
4/17/23 @ 7:01 AM I called to have a live scheduler help change the visit type. At the end of the call I was VERY appreciative by saying, “thank you so much for your time and I really appreciate your help!”… her response was, “sure.. thank you for calling HealthPartners” and I just hung up on her. I schedule for a health clinic myself. I would NEVER respond with, “sure” after hearing how appreciative a patient is for my help or in general. On top of that we allow our patients to give reviews after their call with the scheduling team. Would really like this option for HealthPartners. I understand everyone has their own tone of voice, but a professional response still matters. “Sure” is not proper nor professional in any matter. A simple “you’re welcome/no problem” is the proper response even if you don’t put your customer service voice on, WHICH is not what I’m asking. Be yourself with your tone, but provide PROFESSIONAL responses.
Find other providers
Being new to the area, finding health care has been challenging. I find Health Partners to be understaffed and getting appointments can take several months. Nobody answeres the phones. I have been finding better care outside of Health Partners in the Minneapolis area. There are many other options to get an appointment within a few days.
Preventative visit
Preventative visit. Took vitals, went over my medication, and sent me to labs. I was charged 1800 bucks, one thousand eighteen hundred dollars, because I asked to have my gout medicine transferred to a different pharmacy, told doc I didn't want to take cholesterol medication, and that I had a pre-existing condition and thus the reason for the high biliruben (when he wondered why it was high). It was a 15 minute visit, including the lab. All three of the above constituted 2 additional office visit charges during my preventative visit. So glad we will stop being insured with HP in about 4 months.
HealthPartners Does Not Care About their Patients, only their profits.
I am so over Health Partners. I have been mistreated by them for YEARS. They either ignore my conditions, don't have education about them, or are willfully putting me at risk. This most recent interaction, we were told 2 weeks to get a response from the Dr. After a traumatic stay for me, 3 Weeks later, and several phone calls and an in network message, they *FINALLY* bother to contact me with bare bones details, and hand wave away the extra week of waiting and stress, while simultaneously telling me I now have to wait an additional 5 Weeks for a VIDEO visit to consult on the results. HealthPartners DOES NOT CARE about their patients. For reference, my traumatic stay was on 2/21/23-2/22/23, Did not hear back from ANYONE until today, 3/15/23.
Edit- Just got a call back from them, apparently, they scheduled me for an already filled timeslot, so I have to wait EVEN LONGER now. DO NOT GO TO HealthPartners if you have an option. They do not care about you.
HealthPartners is the worse insurance…
HealthPartners is the worse insurance company I have ever had to deal with. This insurance company would rather a patient get medically worse then better when received the medication that they have already been taken. It was with my previous insurance company I was receiving my medication with a prior authorization and it was approved. Started looking into this horrible company through my job and they decided to go with this sucky insurance company. prior to switching looked on their website to make sure my medication that I've been on for months would be covered through this insurance company and it shows it would with prior authorization. Now that we have switched to it they are telling me it is not covered. Did the appeal and the appeal came back denied. I am a diabetic and I've been taking my meds for months. my A1C is beginning to drop, I've lost 20lbs since taking my meds. And now this insurance company is going to prevent me from getting something that is helping my diabetes. It's sad to say but this insurance company would rather you become a type II diabetic so they can make more money off of you with all the medication you have to take verses giving the people what they need to prevent them to get to that point in their lives or potentionally die from the disease. I watched my husband suffer with diabetes and all the medication that he was on and unfortunely he didn't survive it. So I want to do everything in my power to get mine totally under control. But, with this insurance company here they would much rather you become a Type II diabetic so they can make more money off of you. My, My, My, what is this world coming to. All about the benjamins.
My dr 👨⚕️ f twenty years switched to…
My dr 👨⚕️ f twenty years switched to healthy partners and the manager is awful - staff keeps quitting- I tried to complain but no one listens - twice went for early morning blood work and had to stand outside no one showed up for 20 minutes past my appointment time - the last time - got two reminders of my appointment- finally get in and they tell me they have temporarily suspended lab work - have to fast and go to lab coro - if I can get in before my follow up appointment- I said I got a call to remind me to come and she says it wasn’t me?!?! I hate to shop for a new dr but if I don’t hear back from regional manager - I may have to unacceptable how they treat seniors!!
Profit over commen sense
Health Partners is terrible as profit over client centered service.
Have Covid, did Virtualuwell, trying to get a Anti Viral. Was told only way to get a prescription is to been seen In person.
Other companies don't play these games especially with such a dangerous disease. So I need to potentially expose people and physically come in?
Does it have more to do with being able to charge for a visit?
Going to escalate this to ensure Health Partners policies are called out as unfair, unethical and having no legitimate medical need other than causing vulnerable people more risk.
If you have something rare or unusual…
If you have something rare or unusual going on don't bother go private practice they won't even help you figure out what's going on if they don't find it a standard issue... With
all of the Bureaucratic BS going on doctors can no longer practice medicine in big Box hospitals and partnerships... Everyone is far better off going back to private practice medicine where doctors are allowed to actually practice medicine.
Upon being denied an appeal for…
Upon being denied an appeal for treatment at the Mayo Clinic, HP said "patient must be seen by an in network physician." Even though in a state of emergent high blood sugar levels, and in extreme ill health, I was made to wait three days for an appointment to see Dr. Siwadon Pitukweerakul. Yesterday, that appointment was simply canceled. The office said they could reschedule for a VIDEO appointment with the doctor in 6 or 8 additional days. The administration and the HP Specialty Dept. knew how sick I'd been. After 2 visits to the ER, and blood sugar levels into the 600's the only available "in network" endocrinologist canceled my appointment. Sadly this speaks volumes about the care of patients at HP. And after reading these other reviews, it's clear I'm hardly alone in this experience. Putting profits over patients is unethical and frightening.
Wish I could give negative stars
Wish I could give negative stars. Their customer service is a nightmare. After spending over 30 minutes to reach a nurse regarding an urgent medical condition, the clinic staff refused to transfer me and then hung up on me.
Urgent care visit not treated urgently
I went to urgent care on 9/13, saw a Dr. Max. I was NOT feeling well besides my usual allergies that l manage very well yearly. He let me know that thinking the yellow mucus l that l was draining was a sign of infection was an "old wife's tale", having dismissed that he asked me to take off my mask open mouth wide and glance at my open mouth from a distance....very awkward moment. He sent me home with a nasal spray that caused me severe dizziness that l discontinued it on day 2. It is now 10/5, l still feel lousy and already got my $230 dollar bill for the visit and now have to go back in and be seen again because urgent care doctors cannot give follow up treatment. Why go to urgent care if doctors don't take a patient's visit seriously as long as they document spending 20-29 minutes which in my case was 10 minutes tops if that and bill is $230.00.
Possibly the Worst Healthcare in the Industrialized world
This is hands-down the worse insurance and healthcare delivery system available in my 30 plus years of adult experience. There is no continuity of care; even with serious health conditions, there is no consistent provider available or provider follow-up and patients have to spend hours on the phone attempting to schedule appointments - even urgent care, such as biopsies - with any random doctor with an opening, often weeks out. The burden of figuring out what is needed next - blood work? Biopsy? - and securing an appointment is entirely on the patient. I have lived in many different places and seen dozens of different doctors in my adult life and have never experienced anything like this. I’m not exaggerating when I say I didn’t know such poor healthcare existed in the developed world. I would honestly say you are better off foregoing insurance and just going to an emergency room rather than being insured by Health Partners.
I was told by a gynecologist that a polyp found on ultrasound did not require follow-up; three years later, I was told by a radiologist that it should have been biopsied to check for cancer. When experiencing serious symptoms that indicate possible cancer, it took weeks to get an appointment, another week for an ultrasound, then hours on the phone over multiple days to initiate follow-up myself, scheduling a biopsy through an appointment line rather than hearing from the physician’s office, as is the norm elsewhere, and waiting another week for that. I have even had to call and ask about bloodwork and other tests that nurses and radiologists suggested were needed - no answer yet, three weeks later, if any tests will be ordered. My family also had dental insurance through health partners and after having appointments cancelled due to the pandemic, then cancelled because the dentist took an extended leave and another dentist was not available, I was then told too much time has passed and we were now considered “new” patients - and no dentists are accepting new patients. In other words, there is no dental coverage available and we have to pay out of pocket somewhere else - the company is an absolute train wreck and should be shut down.
Borderline negligence..
Borderline negligence ..Surprise that they don't have more medical malpractice suits.. Go out of network if you value your health.. No wonder there soo many positive reviews..Glad I'm not the only one..
HealthPartners is a joke!
Horrible health insurance company! HealthPartners fight you on covering just about everything!
