Horrendous delivery with no replacement
I AM SO MAD that they missed the most important item - TURKEY! I called them this morning, and they said they no longer deliver any replacement at this point, even though if they could try to send a next day delivery for tomorrow. Thank you so much for RUINING my Christmas meal, which is something I had been looking forward to for two months, by providing a refund and a £10 voucher!
Christmas order cancelled on day of delivery
Have ordered from Farmison for years. Placed a large Christmas order in November. Should have been dispatched yesterday, didn’t receive any notice. Saw many bad reviews online about earlier orders not being delivered. Emailed for an update – no response. Tried WhatsApp – no response. Spent an hour on the phone – cut off four times before I finally was placed through to someone from Donald Russel (who’ve bought the company apparently). They told me my order had not been dispatched and was unlikely to be fulfilled. Finally received a reply to my WhatsApp this morning – the day my order should have been delivered – saying my ‘order is unfortunately unable to be fulfilled’ and a refund will take 5-10 working days. This is the only written confirmation I’ve had, and it came after getting in touch myself. Shocking. Hopefully others waiting on their orders will receive updates in time to get to the shops.
Dreadful Service - Another Lost Customer
We've been Farmisons customers now four or five years. Have always found their general services to be excellent and of the highest quality.
However, this year, as it appears many other customers are finding, they've been pretty poor. I don't put this down to individual staff, but it's very clear since this apparent buyout or merger that things have gone woefully downhill.
I've had really poor communications from them, I always used to get very good comms previously.
If I Whatsapped them to ask a question, typically I got a response in a few hours. It took two days for them to get a response to me.
I have just emailed to ask a question about my tracking number, and to their credit I did get a response within 10 minutes, but I had to guess which company had the shipment as I wasn't informed.
It's very clear that their customer service, especially this time of year has not been given the extra resources it needs, and this is an indictment of a company getting bigger and pleasing exec or shareholders over what used to be an excellent provider of proper quality meat
Since the takeover by Donald Russell I've had to chase my Xmas order twice. I think that's the last straw for me and we'll move to supporting local farm stories from now on.

We finally got delivery on Xmas Eve at 10:10. I've received an apology email from the only person who seems to answer any of the emails, so I'm guessing that there are very few people handling these queries. I'm not editing my original two star review, because the packaging was awful, and was loosely packed so the items inside were a bit battered and bruised when I took them out.
This is very much the last time I'll be using them, especially given that you pay a premium for a high quality product and service. They also don't get any respite given the time of year it is. This is arguably their busiest time of year and they should have prepared for it, and to still be taking order a week out of December means that they're ill equipped to deal with this time of year.
When this company was 'Farmisons' it was an excellent company, and it's a shame that not only did it fail and need to be rescued, but that it's previous good name is being run into the ground by a shoddy service, considerable lack of investment and what seems to be a general disregard for it's customers.
Avoid - something has gone badly wrong
Have used Farmison for years, but won't be buying from them again. Order over £200 worth of meat for Christmas '25 in October '25 to get the delivery slot we wanted. Due to arrive on 22nd December '25. No sign of it on 22nd and so attempted to make contact with the Farmison team via phone, email and WhatsApp. No response on any of these channels. Courier has claimed to have the package but it's now 23rd December '25 and no updates. Seems the company was bought in late '25 and have changed courier from DPD to FedEx (who are equally as poor at updating). Something has gone very wrong with this firm. Won't accept delivery if it does turn up late as it will be perished. Don't place orders now if you are thinking of using them. Won't show up. Reluctantly would say avoid - off to call credit card company to try and recover the money now...
Total meltdown this Christmas
Total shambles, order did not arrive. No response from customer care, phone rings out and is not answered. And yet they are still taking orders!
Avoid like the plague
Order arrived 5 days late, making it completely unusable for its intended purpose.
Customer service is nonexistent; emails ignored, calls unanswered, and no one bothered to make contact. Tracking information is nonexistent. Delivery is unscheduled.
They’ve also turned off Facebook and Instagram comments and disabled reviews on their website, which speaks volumes about how they deal with unhappy customers.
A) Order was late, so I couldn’t use it
B) No response to emails or calls
C) No refund issued
Absolutely unacceptable experience from start to finish.
Do not recommend.
Customer service non existent
Meat is great, but like many other customers, items ordered and charged for are missing and they show no interest in answering the phone or responding to emails or WhatsApp messages. Happy to take your money and not supply goods paid for. Terrible customer service - probably too busy dealing with other complaints…

Was due our Xmas meat delivery on the 20th. It’s now the 22nd December with no delivery and no communication. They have not responded to my whatsapp support message and don’t pick up the phone. Terrible!
Systemic Christmas Failings at Farmisons
I placed an order for my Christmas delivery in November. The day before the order was due it was postponed due to a SUPPLIER issue, the new delivery date which never happened I was told was due to a SYSTEM issue, and when delivery did take place with most of the items missing I was told this was due to a PACKING issue. A lack of communication throughout, and with no-one answering phone calls and phones being put down, I explained the impact this had had on me in the lead up to Christmas both on work arrangements and missing family activities, as well as the impact of having none of the food I was expecting to provide my family at Christmas and had a total radio silence, with a complete lack of sympathy, other than issuing a refund but only for the missing items. Certainly no attempt at any goodwill gesture. Although Farmison's provide a good service throughout the year, having had issues both last Christmas and this one, I would not order at Christmas from them again. This is no way to treat a loyal customer base. What a complete and utter disappointment.
Order not delivered and no customer service
Ordered some meat on the 7th to be delivered on the 20th. The confirmation email said I would get an email from FedEx on the day about the delivery. I received no email or meat. I tried to contact Farmison by phone, email and WhatsApp and have had zero luck. My online account now says order complete despite receiving nothing.
I then received an automated email on 21 December saying it would be delivered on the 23rd. I was then delivered on the 22nd while I was away, so it was sat on the doorstep all day. All of the meat was dispatched from a different butcher in Aberdeen and some of the packaging was not air tight.
I have no received a response to an email essentially saying “we see it was delivered yesterday, enjoy”. No apology or explanation was offered.
Missing items and very poor packaging
Order was delivered missing two packages of sausages and have emailed customer service for a partial refund.
More concerning is that it was shipped in an uninsulated cardboard box with no ice packs and just a piece of bubble wrap to keep it cool. Delivery from Aberdeen has taken 26 hours per the tracking so it has been unrefrigerated for over a day.
Awful
Awful. I put in a Christmas order, only one in nine items arrived. No explanation. Cannot get in touch with them - no answering calls, WhatsApp’s or emails. This is the second time I have used them and second time this has happened to me with them
A new customer
A new customer, using a gift voucher. Delivery was scheduled for 18th. waited in all day, it never arrived. No communication from delivery company until the next day. It was left on the doorstep the following day and then turned out to be an incorrect order. Have tried several times to phone Farmison, nobody answers and one is left waiting on line. Sent emails to customer care and nobody has responded. Overall a very poor service, Would never use again. No idea how I will be reimbursed when nobody will communicate.
Turkey didnt arrive on order date
Ordered turkey for the 18th Dec on the 26th October.
I had to chase and enquire at 7pm on the 18th to check where the delivery was. Only then did they let me know the order wouldn't arrive until the 20th. Zero proactive communication
Unacceptable since we had a Christmas dinner planned on the 19th
Be warned, they have changed! Missing items - no customer service
I have used Farminson for years and never had an issue until today.
It turns out that it went bust 2 years ago and it appears meat is now delivered by David Russel.
They no longer use DPD (despite claiming they do) and there customer support number will put you on hold for a couple of minutes before hanging up on you.
We had two items that were missing from our Christmas order and we have no way of getting them re-issued in time. We called Donald Russel who said they would put a "Complaint on our account" and ask for Farminson to call back, which doesn't really help.
In addition - the meat arrived frozen, which is fine if we are forewarned. If you order for say Christmas Eve there is a chance it wont thaw in time to be cooked the next day.
Finally I was surprised the reviews on their website were so good given it looks like I am not the only one having this issue. Clicking those reviews seems to direct me to a broken web page.
I get the feeling this is all a bit of a rug pull.
Delivery didn’t arrive at all
Delivery didn’t arrive and they just said they couldn’t locate it. After a week they agreed to refund it. No offer of a reorder or discount.
Top class meat
Ordering is so easy as is being able to choose a convenient delivery date. The leg of lamb I ordered was the tastiest and most succulent I have had in a very long time. I don’t ever buy supermarket meat but even my local excellent butcher doesn’t compare!
Poor customer service - Gone down hill
A real shame to have to be writing this review as we have used Farmison & Co now for the last 4 years for our Christmas order and have always been pleased with their service. However, it seems that customer care and honestly, quality of options, have taken a huge nose dive.
We placed our order as always the day that Christmas orders opened and assumed that as every year, would not need to think twice about it. Regretably, after a month and a half since the order was placed, Farmison reached out to advise that our main protein component was no longer available. Whilst it was refunded, we now are unable to get in touch with them to replace these items with an alternative. We have tried all means to do so - Email, phone number, their WhatsApp - emails go un-answered, phone number rings for about 5 minutes then is automatically cut off, and no one responds to WhatsApp.
We are now in a position where we have components of a meal that are of no good to us unless we can replace the core part of the order but are getting no assistance from Farmisons.
Again, this is incredibly disappointing given historical positive experiences of using them however, we are electing going forward to use another company and processing a charge back due to inability to get in touch.
A real shame Farmisons - you have definitely gone down hill and with the cost of living, people will vote with their feet! Get it sorted!
