Just don't!

I've had a doorbell for 2 years now. It works reasonably well and the app is easy to use BUT...
1) It doesn't capture everything. The only night someone came down our street trying all the car doors, there was nothing.
2) After heavy rain the image is blurry to the point of unrecognisable so it's obviously not entirely waterproof. I contacted the company and was told to let it dry out, which it did.
2) I've just had a complete nightmare trying to charge it. I have done so previously with no trouble but this time, a) I couldn't get it off its back support so had a cunning plan to take an extension lead out, prop it up on a bin so that the charging lead would reach. This, of course, entails leaving the front door open. Then..
b) I couldn't open the charging point cover! I did so, after a very long time, by screwing a small hook into it and pulling.
If I was buying another, I would invest in a more expensive one. 'You get what you pay for.'

Good when it works.

As a security installer I was given a set of Ezviz products to try. System consisted of 5 various cctv cameras, both indoor and outdoor including PTZ, door contact sensors, PIR motion detectors, 2 different doorbell cameras and the siren.

First impression were good, as a general security system with fairly decent image quality and easy set up I was quite impressed.

Over the past year I have installed full systems on a number of clients homes. Unfortunately in the last few months things have taken change for the worse.

Firstly, the door contact sensors are no longer available on Amazon, along with quite a few other products, with no estimated return to sale time. After contacting Ezviz by email I was informed that there sensors will no longer be available, however there does seem to be a new model which is more than double the price. So it would appear that although there was absolutely no need to upgrade from the original model and there are no extra features of the new sensor this is simply a way of charging more for the same product.

Another issue that has recently occurred for all my clients is part of the system no longer arms/Disarms when they activate the system. All cctv cameras are arming, all sensors, sirens are not. Meaning they need to arm each device individually which is very inconvenient, especially as you need to disarm the same way when returning home.

I have contacted Ezviz regarding this issue by phone (which they were very responsive with) and was initially told they would look into it but had no timeline of a repair. That was one week ago, following further phone calls some clients now have a partial fix, but still need to arm certain devices independently.

Today I had one full system failure (offline) although every other WiFi device in the house was live (good internet connection) leaving the client to enter their home setting of the alarm and disturbing the entire street. They then had to climb out of their window, retrieve the siren to be able to reset the unit. Not ideal at all.

In summary, if you’re looking for home security I would look at other brands first, in particular try to find out what their product availability will be so you know you can expand your system as time goes on.

For a WiFi based system, when it works it’s good. But there are too many bugs for me to install these in any future clients properties.

I can confirm that of the systems I have tested today they are now arming/disarming correctly.

The system is now fully functional as it should be with all devices arming/Disarming. A fairy big problem to have but one that was worked out in reasonable time with constant communication with Ezviz CS who were quite responsive to emails.

Absolutely diabolical customer service…

Absolutely diabolical customer service and product his a complete waste of money. You press the doorbell and it rings once then quotes the serial number out loud. We are in our 70s and just get lied too by customer services to be absolutely honest they don’t have a clue what they are doing and are unable to help.

Mala calidad y servicio post-venta inexistente

Mirilla CP2: Después de 10 meses de uso (moderado) la pantalla ha dejado de funcionar. El servicio post-venta no responde a mis correos y eso que todavía está en garantía. Es un producto de muy mala calidad y un servicio técnico completamente inútil.

Like the concept, but customer support is abysmal, robots, then can’t help you, then they say get human assistance which is not forthcoming. Bought through Amazon but they do not have customer support for Eviz.

My Bad Experience with EZVIZ

My Bad Experience with EZVIZ – No Real Support Despite Their Acknowledgment of the Device

I purchased an EZVIZ X5S NVR device, which was defective from the moment I received it from the factory: the device was extremely slow, kept freezing, and did not function properly. I opened a support ticket #5186235 (later changed to #1128343), and contacted Nicky from the EZVIZ Tech Team via supportatezviz.com on June 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM. They acknowledged the device as theirs through the serial number and sent me a firmware update, but this did not resolve the issue and actually made it worse.

After that, I received no response from Nicky for 10 days. I then tried to reach their UK support, only to find out that they do not have any physical presence or service center in the UK, just a website that misleadingly suggests otherwise.

I contacted:

Mila on June 12 (who completely ignored my requests)

Jeroen (to whom I sent all information and the invoice, yet received no reply or follow-up)

Matilde Wu – wuxiaowan at ezviz.com, who redirected me to

Bartosz Czarnota – Bartosz.Czarnota at ezviz.com, who finally replied on June 29, 2025, at 7:28 PM, stating that EZVIZ is not responsible because the device was purchased from a third-party seller, despite their initial acknowledgment that the device is genuine and registered to them via the serial number.

I want to stress that I was not asking for a favor or donation—I am a customer who paid the full price for a product that did not work from the moment I received it, and I deserved genuine support or a fair replacement.

Summary: There is no real warranty, no service center, no effective customer support, and no accountable person to handle your case. I share this experience to warn others against falling into the same trap

Bought an indoor camera to use while away but could not connect it to my internet as message kept popping up already connected to another email address, never anyone available to try and solve problem leave message but never get a reply, total waste of time and money don’t bother with ezviz

Excellent Upgrade

Excellent Upgrade – Very Happy!

I bought a new Ezviz doorbell to replace my existing one, and I’m extremely pleased with the upgrade. It was easy to install and connect, and the picture quality is exceptional—crisp and clear. Delivery was also quick, arriving just a few days after purchase. Overall, a fantastic product and a very happy customer!

Dire support

Dire support. Can't unbind camera from app as can't get access. Stupid as support just tells me how to unbind but the problem is I cant get into the app to do this as I get an error. So have camera I cant and haven't ever used and no one is helping. So bought 8 tapo cameras and set these up in the time it took to get rubbish reply from ezviz support. My advice is don't use ezviz

A CRAP PRODUCT AND CRAP SUPPORT

Difficult product to set up. YOU ARE FORCED TO INSTALL AN APK to control it, but that APK FORCES — I REPEAT, FORCES — you to grant many permissions: location, access to photos, etc. TOTALLY INSECURE.

Then you’ll face the issue where it FORCES UPDATES AND INSTALLS THEM WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT.

Frequently, THE CAMERA RESETS ITSELF AND REJECTS THE ACCOUNT YOU WERE USING. It asks you to RESET THE CAMERA, which only MAKES THINGS WORSE. Then it asks for a CODE SENT TO YOUR EMAIL — AND THAT EMAIL NEVER ARRIVES.

You file a complaint with OFFICIAL TECH SUPPORT on the EZVIZ website, and they NEVER RESPOND, leaving the camera COMPLETELY USELESS.

DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE — NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING IT MAY SEEM.

Regarding the issue of not being able to receive email OTP, please check the following first:
1 Please ensure the email address you have entered is correct without any unnecessary spaces
2 Check that the junk box has not blocked the email. (Once you have found the email, please allow inbox privileges for that email address to prevent this situation from happening again in the future.)
3 If this is the first time you have registered, a possible reason could be that your email is blocked by the international mail gateway, and you can try another email address (we recommend Gmail mailbox, which works perfectly with EZVIZ account).

If still not working, to better assist you, please kindly offer us the following information:
1 The 9-digit serial number of your EZVIZ device;
2 The complete email address you used to register EZVIZ account;
3 Your country or region;
4 The time of request for the verification code;
5 It would be really helpful if you could provide a short video of this issue as well.

I have had Ezviz CCTV cameras on my property for several years whereas the cameras are reasonable in their operation, function and quality during that period I have had to replace several of them the first was a pan tilt camera which lost its clarity so was replaced with C8C full colour pan tilt camera. In all I had to send back two of these as a result of malfunction of the fixed default position failure so there is some reliability issues with Ezviz
However this is not the issue with buying a Ezviz camera the following is the main issue .
When I have had a technical issue with one of my cameras (Which I have had several) Achieving a response from Ezviz customer support is a nightmare. To get to receive an answer from their technical support involved several emails from them on every occasion they give nothing but continually ask for more and more information once you have responded to their last email and provided the required information which they had requested in that email.
To clarify the above and knowing how Ezviz operate when making a recent request for technical assistance I provided four items of basic information regarding the camera within the original email which included the camera model number together with the model serial number. By return Ezviz replied with an email requiring four items of information which included both confirmation of the camera model and serial number. THEY HADNT EVEN READ MY ORIGINAL EMAIL !!!!!!
To go into more detail and the final straw with this company. I recently had to change my ISP who removed my main bespoke email address the day which the contract ended. I had already taken actions to inform the majority of my known contacts of the impending change to my email address but as anyone can imagine there were a few that slipped the net and Ezviz one.
I contacted Ezviz explaining the above especially that I no longer had access to my old email address and they requested four items of information for confirmation of my ID two of which I provided the other two were impossible to provide one of which was for me to provide the original switch on day of my Ezviz account (which was several years ago)
In the end I provided them with proof that access to my old email address was not possible and also two invoices for two different cameras purchased separately the latest being on the 1st April 2025 ( eleven days prior to my email to Ezviz) The response from Ezviz was as follows Quote
“However, based on the information currently available, we regret to inform you that we are unable to proceed with the account unbinding process. According to our security policies, we must verify specific details to ensure the rightful ownership of the device before making any account-related changes.”
On every other company which I had the same issue with we were able to resolve a change in my email address but NOT Ezviz !!!
As a result I am returning the last camera to Ezviz stripping out the remaining cameras and replacing them all with another reputable company that has a good responsive customer support infrastructure

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever! Do not buy any of their products they’re all cheap rubbish and break easily! If you try to get support they either do not answer their phones or else cut you off. As well as having the worst open times. Emailing is useless and you won’t get a reply.

I bought 2 second hand cameras to save…

I bought 2 second hand cameras to save money and waste. They were linked to previous owners emails, I was advised they cannot remove these accounts full stop. I have never heard of a company not being able to delete accounts or emails from a system.
They continually refused to put me in touch with senior management or give me a complaint email or number. There customer service has been very on and off and just not providing a satisfactory outcome. I use to love ezviz and there company as well as their cameras. After speaking with other camera companies and tech advisers, they did advise it was completely possible to remove accounts and that they could not understand if I provided all the details why this was not possible.
One company reached out and offered me free cameras to help out. I do not feel that ezviz is the company for me anymore and I would advise others to avoid them as they are not offering a complete service and if you don't want to be frustrated then please do not use. Now thousand of sellers on eBay of secondhand ezviz cameras are not going to be able to sell them. And the landfill will get full up. Well done Ezviz

Worst company ever!

Worst company ever!
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
Camera was ok at the start then stopped working within 2 to 3 months.
Customer support, what Customer support there a joke there is none.
I wanted my money back for a faulty item I did everything they asked via email now nothing no reply no money what a waste of space this company is! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
