Bird houses were delivered yesterday after a few weeks wait. They are cheap resin and not wood. I was (stupidly) sucked in by the article my google feed stating Edwin was retiring and wasn't making any more. The description of the bird houses was very convincing. However, they aren't fit for purpose. I have contacted them for return details and hope to get a full refund.

Avoid them. Item nothing like described on website. Told to return to a Hong Kong address at my expense before a refund would be considered.

Do not buy the Rucksacks it is scam .. you will receive a poor quality one from China not worth the money you have spent.

I ordered two backpacks that were described as being handcrafted by Warren Tuckwell from Brunswick, Melbourne, VIC. The item was titled Warren's Last Backpacks.
The spiel claimed that the business was started when Warren's grandad came home from New Guinea after sewing canvas kit bags for the Army and took the top floor of the old wool mill in 1954. Warren took it over in 1983 and has sewn a little over 75,000 backpacks at the same machine in the forty-three years since. This is the final run.
The image shows an Australian flag on the backpack.
The backpacks that finally arrived both had tags inside that read "MADE IN CHINA", so obviously not handcrafted by Warren with his arthritic hands as his last run. In addition the flags on the backpacks are the flag of the USA.
If you search for the word last on their website there are 4 different backpacks or rucksacks. Depending on which "last run" it is, the image shows the flag of either the USA, Canada, UK or Australia. The accompanying spiel are all the same, pretty much just the name and war changed.
At least I got a product unlike some other people that have complaints about CedarAndTinCo.com. The quality is okay, similar to those that can be purchased at the same price from bag shops/sports stores but these are no bargain, certainly not worth the around $200 they claim was the original price.

What is amazing is the site is still up and running clearly a scam and thousands being mis sold items . The return address for mis sold goods in Hong Kong and London are both empty buildings ..no wonder fraud is costing millions why dont the Internet giants take these crooks down .

I purchased a wooden hand carved bird box what i recieved was a tacky resin made one if i wanted to return it it needed to be sent to a hong kong address at my expense. Its a scam

Ordered a nest box hand-carved from a sold block of 2-year seasoned wood by a craftsman working on the Weald of Kent. What arrived was a mass-produced replica of a box made out of resin/plastic clearly manufactured by the thousand in the Far East which no respecting bird would ever want to nest in. The CedarandTin Co. web site says that it is owned by Ecomcloud Trading LLP of Kinburn Street London and also gives an address in Guangzou City in China. I emailed CedarandTin about the scam and was told that I would have to pay for the lump of resin/plastic to be flown to Hong Kong before a refund could be considered! Alternatively I could keep the useless box and receive a 35% refund! It is clear from the exchange of emails that CedarandTin has all the hallmarks of a scam operation and should be avoided at all costs. It uses all the tactics associated with such shady business practices and should not be let loose on the buying public. I got scammed ... but I hope that you don't. Beware of the CedarandTin Co.

Thought i was buying a handcarved birds home. Not knowing its a resin built one which smells so plasticy even a bird wont come near it. Im reporting to citizens advice and action fraud team

Complete con-men, avoid.

Where to start, states approx 35cm tall.... Our measures 13.5. Extremely light to hold. Supposed to be bronze, Might look like the picture but is nothing like it in reality. our blackbirds would possibly tip it over if landing on the side. Stated 2 to 3 day delivery, ours took six days. Avoid like the plague. Awaiting return details and refund, hopefully. Parcel sticker shows London address, website online return page shows return to somewhere in Hong Kong.

Waited weeks. Have to keep emailing for anyone to reply. Arrived today, its cheap printed pattern on cheap mat. Not made from wool or handmade as they say on web & advertise. Total rubbish. This company needs investigating by trading standards. Also says on their return page returns are back to China, not London. They don't want people returning goods. No invoice or returns label in packaging. This company needs closing down immediately

"Hand cast bronze" birdbath was resin, not bronze, and so small the only bird bathing in it is a lady bird. Takes about half an egg cup of water. Described as ideal for blackbirds and robins NO ITS NOT. Scale shown in photos is completely wrong. Total rip off.

This company surely has to be looked in to via Trading Standards. It seems the items they sell are not quite true to description!!
I foolishly ordered a "handpainted lamp made in Yorkshire by a lady retiring due to arthritis". It was supposedly being sent by Royal Mail 48hr service. I ordered it a week ago and Royal Mail have no updates other than that the sender has "sent the item". Contacted Cedarandtin via email and have been told they are waiting for there suppliers to fulfill the order!!! Strange, as the item, again, is allegedly hand painted in a workshop above a canal in Yorkshire!!! It seems this company is a total scam. The lamp is also described as being the size of a coffee mug yet, on a picture provided by a "reviewer", their lamp is much bigger than that as it is sitting next to a mug....which one is it?!? Seems like the only mug here is myself.
I will update the review if I ever recieve the item but, more than likely, will be too busy trying to get Trading Standards to prosecute them for false advertising!!! Don't hold your breath!!!
I will be dealing with my bank to have this payment reversed and encourage all other buyers to do the same. This company needs everyone to stick together and get these scammers closed down. Please, everyone, get intouch with your bank and also with Trading Standards.

Same Products, Different Sob Stories

I don't think these are outright scam websites, but I strongly suspect they use misleading advertising to sell mass-produced products under the guise of handmade goods from individual artisans.

Both Back Road Goods and Cedar & Tin Co sell the same set of four bee blossom decorations for approximately $54, complete with different maker profiles and personal backstories designed to make you feel like you're supporting a genuine individual craftsperson.

Yet the same set of four products is available on AliExpress for approximately $31.28.

Same products. Different names. Different sob stories. Nearly double the price.

The problem isn't simply that they're charging more than AliExpress. Businesses are entitled to make a profit. The problem is presenting seemingly identical products as the handmade work of different individual artisans, using personal stories to encourage customers to believe they're supporting those makers directly.

If these products are mass-produced and resold, customers deserve to know that rather than being sold an appealing story about a craftsperson that may not accurately represent who made the product.

I would strongly recommend reverse-image searching the products and checking AliExpress before buying. Don't rely on the heartwarming stories alone.

Ordered a hand carved from solid wood birdbox, received a cheap nasty resin item. Refund requires posting back to China and from the other reviews seems painful.. "ever been had sucker" seems to sum up this transaction. Thought it was to good to be true. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I received what was thought to be a beautifully hand carved bird box as a birthday present only to find a small cheap and tacky resin one.
Imagine how disappointed I was, not to mention the disappointment for the gift giver.
Be warned this company is a scam, and is making money by cheating people of their hard earned money by tricking them into buying what they think are beautifully carved items, by people who are either retiring or have a sob story.
Stay well clear.

The cat mat took over two weeks to come because it’s s*** from China not hand made by an old lady in Scotland but printed massed produced crap was delivered in a tiny bag you could fit in a letter box about 2mm thick. Fuming 😡
