I had try to apply for some of my fuel money back as am a carer in the community , I try yo apply for a self assessment HMRC repeating wouldn’t give me it I repeating told them kept telling me to do the form as a don’t earn what enough and not eligible for it , I couldn’t go forward they have taken me to a debt collector for £120 in which they didn’t do anything for me and saying it’s a cancellation fee

Be careful not to use this company! Yes, they come as professionals but believe me they will end up taking most of the money you get from HMRC.
They got me a gross refund of £595.40 from HMRC and HMRC deducted £195.60 in the name of tax underpayment, leaving a residual amount of £399.80. CWTR took an application processing fee of £198.45 and VAT of £39.69, leaving me with a meagre of £161.66. On top of this, they discontinued their service with me and even though I closed my self assessment account, HMRC sent me a late filling penalty bill of £100, so essentially I was left with only £61.66. Now, if this is not a scam disguised as professionalism then I do not know what this is. I don't blame though - I was ignorant and they took advantage of it. Self assessment is something that can be done on your own, you don't need so called professionals who will take the greater part of the money.

I tried to use in the past. but as result were tax that I did not need to pay , after I verified with HMRC.
Plus very high fees percentage, seeing what a normal ACA qualified can charge or online accounting services. At the end, I requested directly to HMRC , very easy online services, and received £2K in full without .. sharing.. zero cost..

Which is not only my personal opinion and experience but seeing other negative comments in here, I believe all these people , proceed without verify in full CWTX services and cost and in trust ..received no good experiences with their own money.

Scam company!!!HMRC brought me a penalty letter saying l owe them money even if l don’t:…l need an explanation!!!

Used these to get a refund. Was told by HMRC that they have issued a refund of over £1500 to this company but now I can’t get hold of them! Would like someone to actually reach out! And the email that you ask us to use is not in service!
I will be going to the police as you have stolen my money! My refund was sent to you in July! I am taking the two directors to court personally.

This company acted for me to claim rebates for 4 financial years. They failed however to complete the work for one of the financial years before they paid me and closed the case. I have now been fined £100 by HMRC for late filing of a tax return. I am unable to get hold of anyone now from this company as they seem to have disconnected their phone and don’t respond to emails. Complete scam company. Avoid at all costs as they will do a number on you. I am now trying to find out who is responsible for the company so I can take further action to claim compensation for the fine. Crooks!

ending up getting £136 from them now owe £350 to tax man they tried to claim for the current year which i told them i didn’t want to claim for scam company they now closed

In 2021 I applied for care workers tax rebate as I have worked in this field for 12 years and never claimed , the process was easy and received a total of £693.85 which they took £200, oct this year I received a hmrc letter saying I owe £693.85 , I cannot get intouch with this company been totally screwed , people be aware

It is a shame to see some poor reviews for this company as of late as my experience with them has been nothing short of professional to the highest standard.
I began my application at the beginning of March and yes I have had to wait up until this morning to receive my payment. However, the communication between the staff has been clear and reassuring throughout the whole process. Just to clarify, from my experience with this, it's the huge backlog of HMRC applications that has caused the long wait times and not the lack of effort from Care Worker Tax Rebate (remember they don't get paid until you do as well!)
Another issue I have read in other reviews was applicants not being able to make contact with them via phone call. I also experienced this late in the summer, however they provided details of how to contact the team via WhatsApp Messenger and I have to say that this was a much preferred method of contacting them for me as they replied more or less in an instant and the responses were very thorough and again, professional.
It's very easy for me to compliment this company having just received my refund whilst others are still waiting; therefore my advice to others who may have left a negative review is to be patient with HMRC (it took me over 6 months to get my refund) and to contact the company via WhatsApp if you have any concerns.
I hope this helps and good luck to all other applicants still waiting for their refund.

After giving them all the information they needed. I was told 10 weeks for payment due to HMRC hold up. Received self assessment documentation from HMRC. Informed the Care workers tax. To be told close down the self assessment with a phone number they are no longer dealing with it. When I was emailed my claim will be dealth with as I started my claim in April. Now I am at lost as to what to do. Start yet another. Or get an accountant. No one bothered to tell me this untill i contacted them on receiving this Self Assessment assessment. Not happy about this and to think I was going to refer quite a few colleagues what a sham.

Put in a claim 4 months ago, was told I was getting a rebate still no payment after this time, contacted HMRC after being told to do so, who confirmed the payment has being released, care worker tax rebate sent me an email saying technically it's not reached their account through an email that had spelling mistakes, alarm bells ringing after this and reading these reviews, impossible the payment hasn't reached them after HMRC said it was released 4 weeks ago,emailed me again said doing security checks but HMRC have said once again the payment has went through and gave me a reference number, starting to think I've been scammed , contacting the police and the financial ombudsman after this.

I got my rebate after months of waiting and 40% was deducted I was not told how much would be deducted at any stage of correspondence. I was told I'd got £50 for each referral and I gave referrals alough didn't receive any payments.

Please avoid this company. Cause you nothing but problems! So the payment has been put into my bank but received tax return letters from hmrc which I thought was a bit suspicious…. Rang them today to be told this company has claimed over £2500 in certain tax years even though my over all gross pay claim was £1700 for 3 years, this has left me with nothing but worry and stress I was told I might have to pay the money back that I received although I’m not the fraudster in all this! Appalling

I thought all was going well - I wasn’t entitled to as much as I had hoped, but I hadn’t had to fill out all of the paperwork. I’d approved the payment and was waiting for payment to be released by HMRC. Next thing you know, I’m receiving fines from HMRC because this company has opened up expenses over £2500 and self assessments and now I’m “late in sending the tax forms back”. (I wasn’t even aware they had been opened for so many tax years ago!) have never been self employed!

Trying to contact the company is like waiting for pigs to fly. NEVER open, even though it says on their website that they are. Absolute shambles. Steer clear from this scam!

My funds have been released by Hmrc still nothing try to phone saying closed have emailed still nothing not happy with the service

They are terrible ,i have got a claim so say going through, HMRC has sent me a letter to say they have paid out on my claim ,nobody from care worker tax rebate has been in touch at all ,you cant get hold of them on the phone ,or email them ,left loads of messages to get them to contact me ,BEWARE

Company is horrendous, there is no way of contacting them. Can’t email can’t speak to anyone. I think this is a scan company just wants your details.
Months of non communication, sent me a text telling me how much I was going to get and have heard nothing since.
Avoid this company like the plaque!!!

Caused me nothing but trouble with hmrc 😡😡😡

I put my claim through in January and still haven’t received any money. I haven’t heard from them since 17th june which is when I rang them. They never contact me now it’s always me ringing them. I was told on June 1st that the payment was ready to be released and that they had spoken to HMRC one hour before I had rung so this is how they knew the funds were ready - yeah ok then that’s convenient - still no funds nearly 3 weeks after that and no contact made to explain. I’m not keep ringing them and I certainly won’t be using them again. I now have my own self assessment set up with HMRC to complete myself. I am see the money sitting as credit on my self assessment tax page Awful absolutely awful. My husband did a claim with another company and his money came through within about 6 weeks.

Also I have received no calls or emails or messages from you since at least may if not previous to that. I have been the one contacting you

Spoken to Shelley this morning and we have now clarified what is going on with my claim and Shelley has said she will try all avenues to get hold of me when she has an update with anything as I said if I can’t be got hold of by phone call then why has no one messaged me or emailed me then I can get in touch So thank you for that Shelley 👍
