Severely disappointed with my tricycle and think it is disgusting you advertise for disabled people. Parts of my Trike are really good quality and parts are flimsy. The mud guards and mechanism that holds the seat in place are beyond flimsy. The mudguards slip down and block the wheels from turning and the seat is moving because the under mechanism (thin, cheap plastic) has completely snapped. Honestly disgusted at this sham of a company.
The website advertises 5-7 days but I had to wait several weeks with 0 contact or shipping confirmations. They didn't even take the parts to be shipped until 3 weeks after it was meant to have arrived. They do not answer the phone number attached to the site and it took me threatening to report them for trading standards to get my order shipped. No apology given.

Their insurance policy is an actual joke. In order to get a broken part replaced, you need to send the whole trike back to them (and of course you pay the very expensive shipping) and they then get to decide whether or not to fix it. They will not accept the diagnostics of any other professional bike shop in hopes you just don't bother sending it back to them.

I have rarely seen a company run with such a low disregard for morals. I ordered this Trike to help with a long-term recovery process and was taken in by their advertisement for disabled people.
Avoid this company at all costs!

Edit: increased my review because the company addressed the issues after this review. They sent me both a replacement seat and a better quality seat.

Ordered my Scout trike in July and eventually had it delivered early September, later than expected.
I was so looking forward to receiving the trike and getting out and about. Once it arrived I took it to a local bike shop - as recommended, to get it assembled by professionals.
Unfortunately the trike was faulty. It couldn't be built. The shop sent us photos and a supporting letter and we passed back to the company. Who offered to fix it, but we felt our local professionals advice was sound and the bike was cheap poorly designed and manufactured and to return. The build and dismantle cost me £50. The bike was returned in the original packaging to them and we requested a refund of the bikes cost and the bike mechanical fees. We have asked nicely twice and to date have received the bike cost only.
So for the privilege of dealing with this company I have no bike and am £50 out of pocket.
Poor product poor customer service poor communication

Update. Bike arrived and assembled - absolutely love it - mind you, only been on it three times!! I am very, very glad I did not have to assemble it. As a ‘newbie’ to this, I arranged for David, from Saturday Cycles in Wellington market. Even he said that it’s not easy for someone with very limited/or no knowledge of bike building, despite instructions. However, he did a fantastic job and I’m really pleased with it.

LOVE IT !! I've had my electric tricycle from BuyTricycle for a year now and am so pleased with it. I absolutely LOVE IT !! Can't recommend them enough. I don't usually get round to leaving reviews but felt like I had to, as I see they've had a couple of less than positive comments left recently and I just wanted to say how much I've appreciated their good service and put the record straight. I can honestly say that I've found the company to be excellent. Recently, for example, I accidently left my charger outside for several days in a massive rain storm and - not suprisingly! - it stopped working. I rang them, got through in 1 minute, asked if I could order another one and they said they'd be happy to send me one right away without anything to pay! I couldn't beleive how kind this was! The charger was in the post first class the same day. I got my tricycle for Christmas last year, so have been using it regularly for 10 months, and it's going like a dream. It gives me so much freedom, whether I'm using it to cycle to work with a loaded basked on the back, or exploring the local cycle paths. I would highly recommend them. Best Christmas present I've ever received.!When it arrives in it's box, you'll need someone who knows about bikes to put it together (I called our local mobile bike repair man, who just charged me a small sum to put it together. So if it's a Christmas present be sure to leave enough time for this before the big day. )

I love my trike!!! It arrived about 4 weeks after I ordered it. My husband assembled it (it was way beyond my abilities and the instructions are idiosyncratic) and then I walked it round to a local bike-mad friend who checked it over for me. My trike is beautiful, well made and I get people waving to me as I whizz around. The basket is great for shopping and the brakes and suspension are fantastic. I haven’t quite mastered the gears but I’m getting there. Thank you for helping me to get around safely and in an environmental friendly way. I love my trike!!!!

Place an order for an electric tricycle in July I have had several delivery dates and even a parcel force tracking number but each time the product was not delivered When I have managed to contact them they have offered some free accessories for the delay but again nothing has arrived Buytricycle do not answer e-mails and there telephone goes to voicemail with the voicemail informing me that it is full and cannot accept any more messages
This is such a shame as the product appears to have very good reviews and my wife was looking forward to riding it I appreciate these are difficult times but all I want is a bit of honesty on when or if they can deliver

The service needs better transparency with regards to the time for delivery.

The communication to the company is not easy. I am given a tracking number that doesn’t show update on the parcel even on the day it was supposed to be delivered!

It is ridiculous to delay after committing to a date, recommitting and still could not deliver! If a true time frame is given to the customer, it will be helpful to expect appropriately.

I can’t comment on the make yet bcz I’ve still not got mine!!

Pls be transparent or keep customers more informed.

Update:
I received my tricycle 10 days ago. My cycle assembly person said it is a very good quality trike.
I love getting on it and feel so safe.
I recommend if it is not an urgent purchase.

I bought this tricycle recently as it seemed to have good specifications compared to other similarly priced tricycles on the market.

It took a couple of months to arrive and the bike came well packaged with bubble wrap everywhere. When I unpacked it I noticed there was a scratch on the frame and fork.

The instructions were not concise, as I was assembling the tricycle I discovered the screws that connect the rear axle to the main frame of the tricycle were missing. I emailed the seller and they sent me the 4 bolts required to connect the axle to the frame.

When I finally was able to continue building the tricycle I noticed that one of the rear wheels was damaged. The wall of the rim looked like it had been crushed inwards, badly scratched and left with sharp protruding edges of metal which could cause a puncture and potential accident while in use. I emailed the seller multiple times and phoned them but they did not reply.

So apart from the aforementioned issues, what do I think of the tricycle? It has good specifications and would have been good value for money but is let down by poor quality control.

POSITIVES

- Gears seem okay once you adjust them, I only had minor issues setting them up.

- Style and colour is nice.

- The folding mechanism seems to be strong.

NEGATIVES

- The bracket that attaches the rear axle to the main body has been welded at an angle that isn't 90 degrees so when you bolt it together the bike leans to the side slightly, I checked this with a digital angle finder and the frame sits at an 84 degree angle, it is very noticeable and off-putting when you are sitting on the bike.

- The rear axle makes a strange clicking sound when it rotates even without the wheels attached.

- The front brakes seem to be very flexible, I mean when you squeeze the brake lever you can see the brake mount flexing where it is attached to the front fork.

- Rear disc brake only affects one of the rear wheels and feels clunky.

- The seat post bracket seems to have flex in it even when fully tightened.

- The basket included is a different than the one shown in the instructions and poor design.

CONCLUSION

Poor Quality Control. If this bike had no defects then I'd say yes it would be worth buying but a damaged wheel and a rear axle that isn't welded at 90 degrees are major flaws.

Poor customer service. They still haven't replied to my emails or phone-calls about the damaged wheel. Beware if you have any major problems as the seller will ignore you.

Absolutely brilliant tricycle I received from buy tricycle love it, I've been looking for a while for a tricycle but they were all very expensive can't believe how brilliant this bike is for the price. The delivery was a week or two lare but with all that is going on with covid that was to be expected. It was well worth the wait.. If anyone is thinking of getting a tricycle this is the company to get it from.

Ordered my trike on the 6th June
So far 5 failed delivery dates given.
No reply to phone messages and several emails left unanswered.
They advised that once they update the tracker number the delivery would be 24 hours.
Still shows as dispatched to parcel force 48 hours later.!
Would love to recieve my trike.
For those that have received theirs how long did you wait ?
My trike has finally arrived 9th September.
Just need to put it together so I can enjoy it lol!

I ordered my folding adult tricycle on June the 12th,and still haven’t received it. The guys at Buytricycle have strung me along for three long months and I was promised my bike on the 25th of July. They have said they will get it to me ,and tracking numbers which Parcelforce don’t recognise,and have not answered my email about which Saturday I will receive it ,as promised this month. Nothing has happened. I’ve been offered £25 off the price ,£40 worth of extras and the free cover, but still waiting for this bike............!!!!

I have rang and rang emailed ordered in june still no tryke so looks like i have to take this to small claims to get money back

The delivery took forever. However, with COVID and the good weather, that is excusable!

I have built many things in my life. The instructions are probably the worst I have ever seen. They sold this to my 80yr old father, knowing that the instructions included are just a general instruction manual, that could apply to any bike in the world.
Huge sections that they just haven't bothered to include.
Pics of nuts and bolts were grainy and not sized. You really had no clue if you were using the right but and bolt.

What a shiv show!

I am very sorry you feel that way.

We do clearly state the trikes need assembly, our instructions are definitely for a trike and the majority of our customers use them without issues.

Anyone who has no experience with bikes should always seek professional help, same with any new bike when purchased.

As for the nuts and bolts, they are all in a separate bags and clearly labeled for each part of the trike so I am unsure of how there was any confusion there.

I hope you now have the trike assembled and your father enjoys it.

The pictures of the bolts are misshaped and no dimensions shown.
That is just cheap and lazy!

Basically, you did not outsource your instructions, ended up with a generic manual and miss-sold a product to an old man.

HOWEVER - I am currently selling it on ebay and making a huge profit.

What a pleasure to deal with a company like Buytricycle, I received my folding Electric Scout trike the day after ordering it and it was half the price of their competitors for what as far as I can see is a very similar product, but their after sales service is brilliant also, my heavy hand managed to crack the battery mount which they supplied me with a new part free of charge, you will have to look very hard to find another company as good as them.

I love 💕 my trike, it was worth the wait. I see from other reviews it was late, I ordered in May too but Covid was an unprecedented situation For all companies big and small as well as the demand and for bikes, It’s not a huge company, I live next to 4 shops and you still had to wait several weeks to purchase Bikes then a few weeks to put together They are snowed under . I did get communication and sometimes I had to chase up too, but I totally understand. This hasn’t taken away, The products are great quality, The company is pleasent to deal with. Thank you, many people are hoping to purchase off you too. Iam so glad I found you.

I love my new trike, it's great value for money and stylish! Delivery was delayed due to Covid but Buytricycle were quick to reply to my e-mails, and keep me updated. I recommend

We ordered a trike (#16832) in early June, with a delivery date of 20-25 July.

To be delayed with deliveries is understandable, given the circumstances, but to not respond to phone messages or emails asking when to expect it is very poor customer service.

From reading similar reviews clearly there are issues with keeping up with orders due to staff shielding, yet the website is encouraging new purchases with no indication of delay.

Ordered my Trike back in May was advised it would be delivered between 25-30th June. The date came around and I had no communication to tell there would be a delay in my delivery. I sent them a email to find out where it was. They replied to advise they were struggling and it is would be delivered between 30th-3rd of July same thing happened again. This time they offered to send my helmet I ordered out for free, so they have me a refund on my helmet but they would still send it. I thought that's fair. Came to the last date they had given me and nothing again so I emailed them yet again this time it took around two weeks to let me know when I would get it. But they had offered to send some free accessories with the Trike and my helmet. The Trike finally arrived 2 months after they had promised but no free accessories or helmet. So now I'm struggling to find out when these will come they will not answer my emails. And I'm fed up of trying to deal with this shambles of a company! Do not buy anything from here they will never update you on anything!!

UPDATE - they have emailed me saying my free accessories are on the way (no date given) but the helmet I ordered will not come as they have refunded me because it was out of stock! No you refunded me because it was a gesture of good will and now I'm not even getting that! Joke!

I had to wait a long time for delivery but now own this amazing machine.
Generous company in hosting an online raffle for a trike, which I won. I've upgraded to Electric and just received the Battery for it. I'm delighted to be able to use it to its full potential now the motor is working. What a fantastic machine. The only negative about it all is that there can be quite a delay due to demand which is understandable as the Scout is one of the best Trikes around. I'm also very grateful for all the extras thrown in by Buytricycle.

I got my refund today , the company have delay with deliveries because of covid. I hope everyone will get their bikes soon. I have lots of friends that order tricycles and they very happy with them , iam looking to have one for my son too asap they will have in stock.
