well, it took forever to get my results. the first test was lost in transit and never arrived, i wasn't even able to track it. i had to wait 8 weeks before i could ask for another one. after that one was sent back it seemed to take forever to get a notification that my DNA results were inconclusive so Ancestry had to send me another test... 3rd times a charm right. so i stuck a note in the box, anonymously of course, and explained my dilemma and they processed it quickly. But after all that i was happy with my results.
Originally i had done the 23andMe test and found a cousin who told me if i did the ancestry he was pretty sure i'd find a brother and it would confirm who my bio-father was, and he was right. unfortunately my 1/2 brother has not replied to my message but with help from Facebook i found his sister, my 1/2 sister, and she has been great. Hopefully one day i will get to meet her. Unfortunately my bio-father has passed away. I wish i had done this sooner. It was quite a shock to find out my mother was not honest about who my bio-dad was, and unfortunately she has passed away too so there is no way to talk to her and let her explain. One thing I'll take away from this, if you do not know who your bio-father is do the test soon! I wish I had, or wish this service was available 20-30 years ago and more people did it, to find family you didn't even know you had.

Ancestry DNA and family tree has helped me to discover my dad's previously unknown biological father. His half-brother happened to have taken a DNA test as well and they were able to connect through Ancestry messaging to share their life stories. With the help of Ancestry, my dad has 6 new half-siblings!

This is just one of the amazing and interesting discoveries I've made with Ancestry!

Easy to access & read.

I have been a regular member of Ancestry since January 8, 2017, almost 10 years now. I have the World Edition and am about to renew my membership once again. I have used DNA in coordination with this program to record and trace the family roots of myself and my wife. The discoveries made have been life changing. We have connected and become close to relatives we previously had no knowledge of or contact with. The Ancestry program has been modernized over the years to include AI that assists with my discoveries and helps to explain my finds. I regularly receive important hints about people in our family trees, information that deepens an understanding of our family history. I have also been able to work with others in the program to further their and my understandings of our respective family histories. Ancestry regularly offers free online learning for those interested and overall it is an excellent source for those who wish to know more about their family origins. I have printed off several binders of my findings and shared the information with family members. I would highly recommend Ancestry to anyone who wants to connect with their family and know more about their historical origins.

I have paid far too much already. Over 3 decades. It's your turn to DNA match me to other distant Moore members rooted in Northern Ireland, 5 generations back. Please help me finish my "Moore Story"!

Great that you can contact people who can give a clue and/or a contact to confirm and possibly the information needed contact birth family who have not done their DNA. Great resource in building your family tree and sharing your family tree with family members.

Never knew exactly where and when my forefathers came from. I have traced them back to Ireland and g
the British Isles . Discovered I’m more Scottish than Irish. My great ,great grandparents were among the first settlers in Simco County in Ontario. Moved to Minisota then to North Dakota USA then took up homesteads in the newly formed province of Saskatchewan. Was quite the journey leaving family scattered all along the way. Ontario , Minisota, Nebraska, Kentucky, North and South Dakota, Montana ,and every other State and Provence in Canada and the USA

I do regularly check the Ancestry Hints for my Family Tree Records, as they could supply me with data or images that I haven't seen before, but that is rare these days, and a few hints are ignored as they are just bad researching - many of my relations, both close and distant, seem to dispose of old photos and ignore details of their ancestors when they pass away, maybe they know nothing of the details - I also see that my data and images has been accessed by others doing the same Hint Searches, they are very welcome....... Hints make researching much easier - especially when names are mis-spelled in documents or excerpts. Saving source documents to the ancestor or allied family member is excellent. The best DNA improvement was in the fall of 2022 when DNA results were broken down into parent 1 and parent 2 and I found out the person who raised me was not my biological father. I had suspicions but still a bit of a shock.

They continue to add and improve, cleaning the windows that we peer into history from. I would however like to search by source again, and have two trees open at once.

they refuse to uphold the law in canada with the new postal and customs clearance laws.

i sent them the link to the postal rules because they didnt believe me when i said the postal works said its legally garbage and due to human specimen internationally me and ancestry would both be charged, i showed them the instructions and they said that ancestry is striking against this. they said if i just threw it in the box and refused to listen they i could be arrested and charged for that too. ive spoke to several people with there 1800 number and email bin both countires ireland and the us. even after dictating the site they refused to leave they have the audacity to tell you to go back and toss it in the box. now i cannot send back a dna kit without paying out of pocket for international shipping. now all i can do is fight for a refund.

Ancestry is user friendly and filled with loads of valuable information to help with your search

I FOUND MY COUSINS I DID NOT KNOW I HAD . IT IS SO NICE TO CONNECT WITH FAMILY . I ALSO FOUND OUT SO MUCH ABOUTMY ANCESTORS.

With the mix up with my new DNA and the old unusable DNA sample I can’t access the info and hints sent about my family. My husband’s DNA info gets mixed up with mine but he can access all info. It’s such a mess and I find it quite frustrating. We pay a yearly subscription and have for years but I can’t get help in sorting it all out.

With not knowing who my biological father was, I decided to submit my DNA to Ancestry in 2018 to see if this mystery could be solved. I had many second and third cousin matches, so I began the task of trying to figure out who we all had in common. Finally after about a year, a person who matched as a half-nephew joined and our Cm count was very high. I messaged him to ask if his father could perhaps do a DNA test as well, since he could be my half-brother. He nicely agreed and a few months later, my mystery was solved. He was my half-brother, so I finally knew who my biological father was. From having his name, I have been able to expand my tree and have found a multitude of other cousin matches.
Another mystery in our family was that we didn't know who our maternal Great Grandfather was. Again, through many cousin matches, I was finally able to figure out who it was. I was able to expand my tree even further.
The Hints in Ancestry are very helpful. Some are totally the wrong person, but mostly they are correct.
I like that we can message Ancestry members directly and that most will answer back. One thing that would be helpful would be if we could share Jpg pictures, snipits from our trees or copies of Sources for common people in our trees, within the messaging system. Some people are reluctant to share their email address.
Overall, I am happy that I joined Ancestry and found the missing people in my tree. I find the layout easy to use and like that there is a Gallery for storing Family pictures and source documents. Thank you, Ancestry!

I discovered a whole new family with Ancestry DNA. Their education series is great. Would be 5-stars, but often users do not analyze hints properly and accept when they are not for the person they attach them to. The concern is the mis-information circulating in public trees. Would like to see discounted memberships for long-term members. Perhaps based on membership milestones (5-yrs, 10-yrs etc.). It's getting quite expensive to maintain an account and I've built a great tree that others gain information from.

Ancestry is an invaluable tool for understanding my family’s roots around the world. I have made so many incredible discoveries, such as meeting distant cousins who shared long-sought photos of my great-grandparents, to learning that I descend from Rollo the Viking, Charlemagne and the Kings of England. I learned that I also have Polish, French, German, Irish, Scottish, Spanish, Norwegian and English roots. I have been able to solve so many family myths, and have uncovered new ones, and met so many new relatives near and far. I have been an Ancestry user for over 14 years and it is my daily treat to learn more, and give love and respect to those who worked and sacrificed so much for us to be here. I highly recommend Ancestry - you will learn so much more than you thought.
