I have not even unlocked all the features, but the history they unearth from your DNA already blows me away! The DNA test kit was easy to use, and mailing it off was no problem at all.

Well I started with birth certificate sites and marriage certificate sites and some records now are matching up.

I always give a 5 star review for people who provide a good service.

I enjoy the work I do in trying to trace my ancestry back as far as I can !

I bought a DNA kit for a friend who has the same last name as myself and we wanted to see if we were actually related, the kit came with no return postage and I couldn’t activate the process and was told that he would have to start a ancestry account

I began researching my family history when I was just 9 years old—long before computers, online records, and DNA testing. Back then, research was done by hand and by foot, photographs were precious, and family stories could easily be lost.

Ancestry and AncestryDNA completely changed what is possible.

What started as curiosity became a lifelong passion. Today, my family tree contains over 69,000 people, but genealogy has never been about numbers for me. It is about the people behind the names, the stories, the connections, and preserving family history before it disappears.

One of the greatest lessons I have learned is that one additional family member testing can break a decades-old brick wall or reveal unexpected connections. I always encourage people to test the oldest generation while there is still time and to have a trusted DNA manager in place. Time is the only true enemy in family history research.

I appreciate how Ancestry combines DNA, historical records, family trees, and continually improving tools to help researchers investigate questions and build evidence-based family histories. I also value that beginners can start with free family trees, making genealogy accessible to anyone with curiosity and a desire to learn.

Ancestry has deepened my understanding of geography, history, migration, and even science. And the surprises truly never stop.

I don't think of myself as "25% of anything." Every DNA region—large or small—represents real ancestors, real places, and real stories. Even a 1% result can preserve a connection that might otherwise have been lost to history.

The greatest joy has been sharing, helping, and teaching others. There is something incredibly rewarding about helping someone make a new discovery and understand where they come from.

For me, genealogy is not simply about names and dates—it is about preserving memories, discovering connections, and passing those stories to the next generation.

And one final thought: in a short time, it will be a long time ago. Preserve the photographs. Ask the questions. Save the stories. Test the oldest generation while you can.

I discovered and connected to 3 first cousins from different siblings of my mother which I did not know I had, we have met and messaged each other, have also shared family photographs. I also found a 2nd cousin from my father's side of the family, along with a 3rd cousin. This would not have happened without Ancestry DNA. Sadly, I was unable to connect with anyone on my husband's side. I have now taken a break from searching, I feel I have exhausted all the information that Ancestry has to offer at this time.

I have been doing genealogy for over 50 years off and on. When I started out I had to physically go to libraries, graveyards & any place I could get information. Initially I was interested in my grannies family & then I started on other lines. Now I have 4 lines I am researching. My father's mother & father - my mother's mother & father. Four years ago I decided that if I didn't do something with my research, when I die it would all go in the garbage. So I have written & published a book on the Bernsteins, the Chiswell's & now I am working on the Maves. I find Ancestry easy to use to keep everything straight. Some research software you can't see the ariel view you can in Ancestry. Now I do all my research at home. I have everything I need at my finger tips; Find a Grave, military & now even German documents. You still need to be careful though! I have cleaned up my duplicates with PRO tools & run the German documents through ChatGPT to translate. I have found some of the German documents do not match the person when translated. Be careful! Crawl through the hints, don't just accept them because they are there. Also listen to the educational classes. They are like gold and you won't make so many mistakes going forward. Overall Ancesty is a superb software for family research.

Doing my DNA brought incredible twists and turns that were very unexpected. Things i thought were true, turned into a different story. But it all made sense over time. I met family members i never knew about, and who never knew about me. I have no regrets doing my DNA. So glad i did it!

I have never been led astray with the information I am receiving from Ancestry. Errors that appear on my family tree are the result of me misreading hints when accessing other family trees.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ALIVE.

Ancestry double billed my account. When I was trying to work with someone to get my money from one refunded, I had some idiot on the chat over and over and over and over incapable of reading. I sent over the receipts, order numbers, transaction numbers and all the information needed to see the transaction. They continued to copy and paste responses, continued to negate any responsibility even though I kept giving all the information needed. They are crooks and frauds and I am looking for another platform to continue my search.

I love Ancestry. I have Heritage, 23 and me and Family Tree DNA, and Ancestry has the most Family Trees. I love that the matches are seperated Maternal and Paternal. I love the ability to tag and to make notes on each match. So many other features that have helped me create a tree of 5,000 family members. The reports are wonderful. Like writing a book!! I would highly recomment Ancestry!!

It was interesting to see other distant cousins that are researching the same names and adding more people to my tree.

My story is quite amazing. I had absolutely no information to go with to find my birth family. I finally found my have sisters and half brothers. My journey has been extremely interesting. And I am sure that if you were interested in documenting how extraordinary my journey has been, you would be completely in awe.
Ancestry is the source of my findings. It has been an extraordinary journey to find my family. One that required a lot of patience in many years before I was able to unravel the big mystery.
I am extremely grateful to ancestry, because right now I would probably think that I was going to die without knowing my lineage.

I connected with a DNA match that lives in the village where my mother was born in England. My mother came to Canada with her parents in 1927. I am going to England in September 2026 to meet up with this relative of my maternal grandfather. As well, this woman connected me with a Fitch family member who she went to school with. My maternal grandmother was a Fitch. This woman is descended from my grandmother’s uncle. Two relatives for me to visit now! All because of Ancestry connections. How lucky can I get. Looking forward to meeting my English relatives!!

Ancestry is very helpful when you are searching for unknown relatives. It would be awesome if everyone tested their DNA.

With world access to records and hiring genetics professionals our family now knows our ancestry which remains a work in progress. DNA technology is always improving adding further possibilities to dig deeper.
