When you downgrade your membership, receiving hints for records locked behind a higher-tier subscription feels like a tease, especially after investing so much over the years. Your feedback on giving long-standing, loyal members access to those hints—or at least an option to filter out locked records—is spot on.
We appreciate you sharing this candidly, and we're passing your thoughts directly along to our product team!
Thoughts to improve
I think when you offer hints to subscribers, they should be correct or at least checked to be relevant. Often they may suggest information already in our trees. When Ancestry offers a rating of my work, they are not correcting anything and are not trying to correct mistakes, they
sometimes offer false information.
When looking for others that may be researching individuals, it should not default to the US. If looking for a person in a specific country, it should default to that country first! We also need to correct transcribers, much more diligently
It is a great service, use it most every day.
Just offering suggestions to make the service better. Keep on, keeping on! Thank you.

I won't say "great." It has been intersting.
I won't say "great." It has been interesting. I know a lot more about my families now; however, it is very frustrating to have to sign up and pay for so many features, such as press clippings. I fall into the "older" category and can't afford so many extras.

Ancestry has helped me find my relatives and my friends relatives. My friend was adopted at birth in 1966 with only a few fragments of information on his father.. with DNA testing and current databases I was able to find all his relatives in Sweden and even photos and family stories. He was amazed.

Insightful discoveries
After taking a DNA test, I became more curious about my family history. I discovered there was a name change shortly after an ancestor came to the United States. That led to a whole lot of ancestors in a country I didn’t know was part of my ancestry. I also discovered two ancestors who were accused of being witches in that country. I’m still not finished with tracing all the various family lines. It’s a bit like detective work and really intriguing.

Ancestry is an excellent research tool!
I have had a subscription to Ancestry for almost 20 years. It has allowed me to find literally thousands of relatives in my family tree, and be able to share my discoveries with my family members. The system of reviewing hints on a person's profile is an excellent crowd-sharing way of finding new information that isn't available online elsewhere.

Transcription errors and not correcting public sourced errors
1. You have a large repository of documents but the interpretation often leaves a lot to be desired. 2. I accept it is a public sourced site with people posting photos, etc but when you find a glaring error and bring it to the attention of Ancestry, nothing happens. I end up contacting anyone who has copied this information and informing them of the error.

Je suis assez déçue par le service après vente d'Ancestry. Après avoir reçu des résultats incohérents, j'ai envoyé un email pour demander des explications et voir si une nouvelle analyse ne pouvait pas être faite. Je n'ai jamais reçu de réponse. De plus, il n"y a pas de numero de télephone européen. Enfin, le site envoie á leur chat IA qui vous fait tourner en rond. Vraiment dommage de payer pour des résultats incohérents.

some criticism of the Ancestry website
The Amazon website provides access to a wealth of information, but the site itself is poorly designed.
1) it is difficult to know all that is available on the site. The data structure is opaque, and users don't know much of what could be available on the site. This listing of databases should be organized in high level menus in well-defined and user adaptable categories.
2) results are often presented haphazardly with no option to sort. Often when asking for one type of record, example deaths, the resulting list includes everything - births, daths, marriages, etc.
The whole site needs a rewrite.
