Switch from origin to amber

I switched to amber at the start of this month. So far the experience has been great. I can view my daily usage and the credit I get. Still waiting for my first bill.

Support is woeful

Support is woeful. The concept is great and works well when it works, but when it doesn't its awful. Customer response is non-existent. Hopefully an alternative product will be on the market soon ... watch this space.

Experience with Amber has been…

Experience with Amber has been excellent in the first 4 months of signing-on. Support department (Lindon) has been first rate with help making sure my system was set up and working right, follow up contact and a good outcome. Seems like some companies still employ people!!

GREAT JOB AMBER!!!

Only new to AMBER! system is still in learning mode. I am having a great experience and works better then I thought. I am personally a solar installer, designer and salesman, I am very impressed with smart shift and the way it utilises your battery for the best financial outcomes. Personally I think your crazy if you don't go with AMBER if you have a solar and battery set up. GREAT JOB AMBER!!!

Very impressed…

Very impressed with the sign up process it was simple and automatic moving from Red Energy to Amber. I was emailed by Amber at every stage as the transition took place. It took a few days for our new battery and inverter to be integrated fully but this was due to an update that was required which Amber organised directly with Fox ess. There is a fair bit of information to take in at first regarding how the wholesale price market works and how to use the app etc but once you take it all in and get familiar with the basics it’s all pretty simple, just be patient.. After a few weeks with Amber I haven’t yet seen the 27 cents per kWh price I was being hit with by Red Energy, my average so far for any usage outside of solar and battery is 12.7 cents per kWh. Very happy Chappy!

Been with Amber over a year now and am…

Been with Amber over a year now and am impressed with the intelligence of the Smarshift product, hence my savings whilst moving to greener energy usage. Also have had issues after swapping inverters resolved within hours, and I was back up and running. For me, customer support has been great. I hope they succeed with their mission.

Inverter Replaced

I had my panels and inverter replaced and the response from Amber to update these details and get me back on track with my electricity savings was perfect. A quick message to Amber saw my request escalated and my connection was complete. This can take over a week with others as has been my experience.

I have a 6.2 kw system and then went to…

I have a 6.2 kw system and then went to Amber with an additional 6.2 kw system and a battery and for some reason my electricity bills went up and I have tried to contact them over a three month period to talk to someone about my system and all I get is emails with the same crap...they are not what they seem...customer service is not there if the system is not opperating properly

Amber customer support has improved

I had an issue with Tesla data not being received by Amber causing Smartshift to stop working Linden from Amber sorted out the issue quickly Amber’s customer service has improved

Excellent Support and Great Product

Just moved to a new home and being unhappy with my past provider decided to install a battery in an effort to have some control over my electricity usage. I've switched to Amber because of being able to track that usage and balance it with the technical information provided by Amber for a financial advantage. The process was seamless. Zein from Amber provided excellent support through being readily available and providing great and timely information. Many thanks.

Overall this is a great concept and…

Overall this is a great concept and with a larger battery/solar system the potential for greater savings is there. Price spikes in our region have been very sporadic. Still competitive with last 2 retailers. Getting a reply to enquires? Be patient, it could take months.

Positive Amber review after initial negative one

I initially reviewed Amber very negatively because for months I experienced random dropouts of Smartshift for days at a time. What assistance I was offered never seemed to get to grips with the problem. However I’m pleased and relieved to report that by liaising with Tesla they eventually identified and addressed the problem.
Persevering, being a squeaky wheel because I strongly believe in the Amber model and there being no similar alternative that I’m aware of, has resulted in a satisfactory conclusion.
Thank you guys!

I switched to Amber Electric via a recommendation from our Solar installation.

I switched to Amber Electric via a recommendation from the solar electrician who supplied and installed solar and batteries to our home.
I have found that Amber is a great product and has "lived up to" everything that the solar guys said it does. The App is great and works perfectly. I have contacted the Amber support team a few times with questions, and they were very prompt in response and provided excellent guidance to solve my enquiries.
I've read the reviews on here and I can tell by the content of the negative reviews that these people do not follow the "basic" instructions in the App and in the instructions/guidance.
We are extremely happy that we switched to Amber.

At last Amber are coming good

At last Amber are coming good! After over a year of patiently waiting for them to recover from an unexpected explosion of new customers, they have at last found decent people who know how to listen AND act upon customers problems.
We had an unusual setup which Amber were initially having problems with, but, much to their credit, they persisted with and fixed most problems.
Our system ended up not being what we needed, so we were able to "upgrade". Unfortunately for us, this was during the massive influx of new customers. Some aspects of our upgraded system got lost/overlooked.
Now, all that has been corrected and we are very pleased to be able to say that our system now is operating as expected. Many thanks need to go to Jack who attended to our problems and corrected them. We have only one other problem to recover from and that's to do with the control load meter removal which was done by our electrician. In a few days, Intellihub will be attending, so we should have the results of that hopefully within 2-3 weeks. Amber (Jack) has set that in motion and dealt with some miscommunication in the system, so, again, my thanks to Jack.

If you have solar and a batteries…

If you have solar and a batteries installed in your property then Amber is the best for you. Since I habe been with Amber I have had the lowest electricity bills ever. No one else can compare. They a great to deal with. Everything is pretty simple and self explanatory. You can't go wrong with Amber. Keep up the great work
