Laras and Amber are great
I was dreading the experience of obtaining a refund from Amber. Instead, it was a daily, delightful surprise as we dealt with the painfully polite Laras. He understood the problem immediately, dealt with it promptly, told us what was going to happen on a daily basis and "presto" it happened. Within a couple of days, the refund was in our Bank Account. Thank you Laras for a job well done. Amber Electric is great.
Amber - pretty cool reallt.…
Great to deal with a “real” company rather than mega corporate. Im on a “beta” (FOXess 42kw.hr batteries on 2 properties, solar 11kw and 18kw). Perfect? Not yet - onboarding process got some frustrations, but Amber response time is remarkable, and responsiveness better than expected - especially, fault is grid supplier (Endeavour Energy, Installer - crossed CT’s - or FOXess, still evolving auto onboarding. Yea 5* effort and 5* results. Keep it up Amber. Attack from established grift merchants guess coming soon.
Three year battery payback.
We have found that Amber is a very competent and easy outfit to deal with.
I love being able to manually top up our battery outside the high demand period when power is cheap and then sell it when prices are high.
It's early days for us, but I expect that, with Amber, our 42KWH battery will pay for itself in under three years.
I have recommemded Amber to an old friend, who is just as pleased as we are.

A great alternative to other companies. Power prices haven’t been quite as high as I’d hoped - not quite making back the $2 a day in sub fees and network charges. Smart shift has generally worked well. A couple of times it either fed in solar or exported at weird times but trend was positive over time. Definitely going to keep them in mind to return to when I re-evaluate my power supplier in 5 months time. Easy to Unenrol from smart shift. 14 kw solar panels, 40kwh sigenergy battery- 3 ph

Amber prices are low
Amber has been a really good company for cheaper more competitive prices. I have been able to sell back to the grid at more convenient times at night by using my battery system. The app was easy to download and set up and easy to use. Amber also have information sheets and sessions you can watch to learn more about how to save money and use the app.

I have been with Amber for a few years for energy supply, but only moved to them managing my battery in recent months. They have always provided good service and advice. I highly recommend them.

I’m glad a friend recommended Amber to me after my battery installation—it turned out to be the right decision. Communication with the team has been smooth and efficient; they respond to queries quickly and professionally. The app is user-friendly and easy to navigate, although it takes a little time to fully get familiar with all its features. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

The transition to Amber was quick and straightforward.
However, not having a real person to talk to was a challenge. This is a different way of being connected to the grid.
I am pretty self sufficient with my electricity so understanding -ve tariffs took some adjustment.

Best Decision Switching to Amber Electric
Joining Amber Electric has been a fantastic decision. I’m getting lower electricity rates and even earning credits on my bill. Being part of the V2G trial now makes it even better — it’s an amazing experience and a glimpse into the future of energy!

Very happy with swapping to Amber
Very happy with swapping to Amber. Response time to emails has been very quick and we’ve been very impressed with the informative emails guiding us each step of the way. It’s been a lot easier than I expected to understand the app for us retirees.

Hi have been very pleased with the prompt response to some minor issues, relating to our hookup. The amber process and detailed account and info is excellent.
Early days but looking good
A bit slow to start however that was due to a delay getting a smart meter installed. Now that has occurred everything has progressed seamlessly and although it is early days, I have noticed a massive reduction in my power bills. Despite that initial delay, which was probably not Amber's fault anyway, I have always found the customer services team responsive and helpful as are the online tutorials.
I am very unhappy with Amber’s service
I am very unhappy with Amber’s service. After signing up, my solar system has still not been connected in their system. I have called them 2–3 times and raised a complaint. Each time, I was told it would be resolved quickly, but nothing has been done.
I received my first bill, which was much higher than expected, and no solar rebate was applied. I specifically asked them to hold the bill until my solar was properly connected, but I have not received any response.
I have also sent screenshots from the app as requested in their email, yet the issue remains unresolved. When I try to call, the wait times are usually over an hour, which is extremely frustrating.
Overall, this is very poor service. If this is not resolved soon, I will definitely switch to another provider.
Solar Curtailment
Like many, I recently installed batteries and joined Amber. But Solar Curtailment was not available. Progressive discussions to identify the problem resulted in Amber contacting the inverter company, identifying the issue, which my original panel installer fixed. Now I have Solar Curtailment! Happy all round.
Amber: Great electricity retailer with improving customer service
Amber offer an amazing product (particularly for those with solar panels and batteries, but even before we had those we were doing better with amber than with a traditional electricity retailer).
It was a bit freaky to start with, paying wholesale prices that can go up and down quite dramatically. We got used to that pretty quickly though.
I recently contacted and as we hadn't been issued a bill for some months. I was very pleased with the response from the answer representative who responded to us. They kept us informed while and dealt with the issue.
Absolute legends - Ask for Jasmine!
"I’m a senior and I’ll be honest, the tech side of solar and batteries can be a bit of a head-spin sometimes. But the team at Amber have been absolutely brilliant.
I’ve been dealing with Jasmine and she is an absolute star. She gets back to me so quickly and doesn't talk down to me—she just explains things clearly and gets onto the device team straight away if something needs fixing. It’s rare to find support this good these days. They actually care about helping you get the best out of your setup. Highly recommend them if you want a team that actually listens!"
