Seeking refund - business seems to be offline.
I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt earlier given the situation and complexities of receiving product as a reseller that gave limited restocks. However, it's been several months now with no communication at all and people are discussing on Facebook how the only way to receive a refund is to send a legal letter, with absolutely no acknowledgement from the business otherwise. This is very disappointing. I have received my product from a direct Hirbawi restock and will also be seeking a refund as there's no hope of getting product in less than a year given people from November, 2023 are still waiting for product.
No delivery and no means of contact
I've had no communication after twice chasing up an order from April this year that hasn't been delivered. This 'company' appears to be taking advantage of a genocide to make profit, I really wish I'd checked out the reviews before ordering.
Ordered last year, still waiting.
Ordered last year
Cannot get any reply to enquiries from the company.
Total silence from their end.
A complete and utter sham.
A simple reply to emails would suffice.
I've never before heard of an email support address that doesn't respond to email order queries.
That's just not on under any circumstances.
Simple communication is expected.
No response from company and no way to contact them
I ordered my kufiya in November 2023. I have still not received it nor have I had any response to my numerous emails. I want a response or my money back please. I have even asked if I can perhaps exchange the one I paid for for another if they have surplus stock but no response again.
Communication goes a long way
Preordering T&Cs notwithstanding Abuwear can avoid much of the negativity by simply communicating with customers and providing updates.
Like many others ordered in January and have been chasing for an update since to no avail. I am not being impatient. I am demanding communication as per section 5 of the preorder policies where it states that we will be kept updated on our orders.
I have since ordered from Hirbawi directly and received my order.
Patience wears thin under radio silence!!!
Took my money and gave me nothing
Took my money, never sent what I bought or refunded me despite my sending several emails. I ordered in December, and it is June, still no word from them. This place is a complete scam, never buy from them.
Lack of communication/respect leaves a bad taste
While I can fully empathise that there are stock delays due to several circumstances beyond the control of Abu Wear, I have emailed them on multiple occasions for an update on the purchase I made back in January 2024 and have not received any response. Additionally, I know of several people, myself included, who ordered directly from Hirbawi more recently and have already received the kafiyas. I have emailed again today to request a refund and expect they honour this. Had they communicated in a responsible and respectful way, I would have been more patient.
Missing items, order maked as fullfilled. No answer from customer support
Hi,
I have been trying to contact the customer support for a month now but I haven´t any answers.
I ordered two Keffiyehs in November (1 Rainbow and 1 Black/White). I received a Black/White Keffiyeh in May but I am still waiting for the Rainbow Keffiyeh but my order has been marked as fullfilled.
I totally understand the situation and don´t mind waiting for the rainbow Keffiyeh to become available, but right now my order is not in the system anymore and I cannot contact anyone to get this fix as no phone numbers are available to contact customer support and my emails have been left unanswered.
Well worth the wait for a Keffiyeh
You will have to wait for your Keffiyeh. That's in the T&C's but if you want to buy a new Keffiyeh made in Palestine, this is where you will get one.
Paying for them will keep the factory open, which is a good enough reason to buy one, regardless of the wait.
The one factory in the West Bank still producing Keffiyehs is churning them out as fast as they can. You can google Hirbawi to see their story.
My red and white one arrived today. I couldn't be more pleased with it. The quality is much better than the cheap one I purchased from Amazon last year.
Well worth the wait
A great small business to support
Like many others, I've ordered kufiyas some time ago to support the Hirbawi factory and also to support a local small business that dedicated their work to building a better world.
Yes, it took a couple of months to get my two kufiyas, but I'd gladly wait five times longer if needed! I'm quite sad to see the negative reviews and people's skewed priorities. It's completely misguided and vile to start a chargeback against a small company when they have to wait for shipments from Hirbawi for months, with a backlog of thousands of kufiyas, with Hirbawi being constantly under threat and working hard hard to supply their stockists around the planet.
Of course we all want to get out on the streets with our kufiyas, but let's not forget a kufiya is not a fashion statement and most certainly not fast fashion that we need to have right now, right here. The most important thing right now is to support the Palestinian people and get some money into their economy. Our orders can wait. There should be no room for entitlement and consumerism in a liberation movement.
Ryan shows a great passion and commitment to their business and I'd shop with Abú Wear again in a heartbeat. Thank you for allowing me to treasure a beautiful piece of Palestinian heritage.
It’s been 5 months and no updates of…
It’s been 5 months and no updates of where I am at in queue at all. I have since ordered and received 2 from Hirbawi directly. I ordered the black and white kufiya from Abu on January 10. Sent a few email inquiries and nothing. There are literally so many better ways you could handle this side of your business. It feels as though you’re taking and spending money from people before you even have their product in hand and that feels wrong. I am of Lebanese diaspora and paid extra to have these shipped because Abu was the one place doing preorders and I wanted to wear the traditional with pride. Yes I read the incredibly long statement about their process but this is insane when I’ve already received two directly from Hirbawi in the meantime.
Update: They issued me a refund with no explanation of why other emails were ignored. It was just issued and that’s it.
Months Of No Communication = Transaction Reversed
I placed an order with Abu Wear in good faith on 11th January 2024 for two Kufiyahs (1 X red and white & 1 x inverted black and white).
At the time of ordering, they had a notice on the website stating that re-stock was due around the end of January, but I realise that's subject to change for obvious reasons.
I emailed on 9th February enquiring when I might expect to hear something, and got no reply.
I emailed again on 12th April asking for an update because by this point I knew that I was going to be moving house at the end of May and would need to update the delivery address for my order. Again no response.
In both of these emails I stressed that I wasn't trying to rush them because I realise there are circumstances outside of their control and was just hoping for an indication of lead time. In the case of the change of address email, that one was quite important to make sure this long awaited order didn't go missing. In the case of the April change of address email, I did receive an automated response with a "ticket number" however when you attempt to view the status of the ticket, the website/ticket portal appears to be broken and shows nothing. I have since emailed that same email address again and no such ticket generation happens anymore so I guess it's been taken down.
I also DMd Abu Wear on Instagram on 21st April, and commented directly under their most recent post two weeks ago explaining that I needed to update the delivery address on my order. Still no response.
On Monday this week I sent my final email stating that seeing as they have not responded to any communication attempts, I will be disputing the transaction with my bank at the end of this week and having the charge reversed. I'm really sad to do this because I really wanted the items and have been waiting five months for them. I would have been happy to wait for the order to be fulfilled but if they refuse to respond to change of address enquiries, I have no choice. After once again recieving no response, I today filed the dispute with my bank who are now reversing the charge.
They do have a pre-order policy regarding their Kufiyahs but unfortunately for them, no internally written business policy supercedes consumer rights law. They still have to comply with distance selling rules and they've had more than enough time to respond.
Most reasonable people can understand that due to the awful situation in Palestine, stock issues are to be expected. But in that case you need to be prepared to communicate with customers. Even if it's setting up automated replies, updating your website notices and writing pre-scripted email responses to send out. You also need to prioritise replying to change of address queries when you've kept people waiting months before fulfilling your end of the transaction as people's circumstances are likely to change over that length of time. You cannot just take people's money and then vanish for months with no update and expect people not to dispute it.
I wouldn't do business with this place again.
Thank you ryan and team abuwear
Thank you ryan and team abuwear. I finally recieved 2 out of 3 of my kufiyas which I ordered back on 19th of november 2023 namely the soirise and the palestinian flag colours.
For context to those who are worried about their order I am sorry to say I ended up jumping on the bandwagon of asking what was happening with my kufiyas via the ticketing system in march having not recieved a reply,
I decided to just be patient and not send another ticket and let them come however long it takes.
Yes it may be frustrating not knowing what is happening with your order but knowing the situation in gaza as well as the situation in west bank
and knowing abuwear has a huge, huge backlog of preorders I remained patient. I am now waiting for my sisters inverted kufiya which I know will come when it comes.
You will recieve them it will just take time
I am just overjoyed at having in my hands authentically made kufiyas made by the last factory in palestine.
Ordered January still nothing literally…
Ordered January still nothing literally get more updates from trustpilot reviews! Saw there was another drop and still nothing!!! I ordered 1 black and white Kufiya! Like now bridging on 5 months and heard nothing not even an email updates just no response at all I'm patient I understand the situation but paid $40 for shipping and still haven't even heard a blip!
I have sent multiple requests via email…
I have sent multiple requests via email for a status on my kufiya order #4062 without response. I understand that this order may take time, but it makes me uneasy as a customer that I have never received a response. All I would like is to know the status of my order placed in January of this year. If you would let me know that would be great. Thank you!
I ordered 2 items on Jan 10th and have…
I ordered 2 items on Jan 10th and have had ZERO response from anyone despite many many emails , just an auto reply saying “ ticket has been issued “ it’s 5 months and nothing
four months on, no t-shirts and no response
Following several emails that have gone unanswered since early March, it seems that Abuwear engage only via TrustPilot.
In additional to Kefiyyehs, I ordered two t-shirts back on 9 January. These were not subject to the production delays. After two emails to enquire why the t-shirts have not been received, I got an email back on 9 March telling me that they'll check urgently and send the t-shirts.
Another two months and two more emails and still no t-shirts, no response and no refund.
This lack of response to a simple order of t-shirts that were supposedly in stock, make it hard to trust that the order for the kefiyyehs will be fulfilled.
Much as we'd like to support a small business and show patience at exceptional circumstances, it is not unreasonable to expect a resolution after four months of patient emails.
Assuming Abuwear will reply to this review, I'd like to ask for a short, simple response telling me what they are doing about it, rather than a long-winded narrative of excuses. Just send the t-shirts or provide a refund and an email to confirm either way.
Poor communication + business model = trust issues.
Ordered in the first days of January so as to give enough time for kufiyah for Ramadan gifts to arrive in time and took a chance on ordering from Abu Wear, who I hadn't ordered from previously. I've tried to get in touch about my order, but have gotten no response, and Ramadan has obviously come and gone. In January, they made it seem like they had a big order planned to come in from Hirbawi, and that you could order multiple kufiyah based on what inventory as coming in and thats what you'd get. Later, it seemed like they changed their tune slightly, making it sound like they are holding onto your order until all kufiyah variants you ordered come in to ship them to you... which isn't what I signed up for, if thats even true. We all understand the situation with delivery times, but I have since ordered directly from Hirbawi and received my kufiyah rather quickly from them. I'd prefer to have my money back from Abu Wear at this point, so I can be sure those funds are going to Hirbawi, but Abu Wear isn't even responding to any messages. Eventually, I assume I'll have to have my credit card deal with this for me, sadly. I hope this isn't an instance of someone scamming a human rights situation, but it's feeling that way, Abu Wear seems to be mostly absent on all social media since taking everyone's orders in January...
EDIT: I could go on at length at the arrogance and errors in the response I’ve received below, but the attitude alone tells you what Abu Wear is about. This isn’t my first rodeo with Hirbawi and I continue to get kufiyah from other sources while I still have not received a response to my requests from Abu directly, but they sure took the time to try to do damage control here though, huh? I’ve sent my request to be refunded, we’ll see if it happens. Don’t order from here, there are better more reliable and professional vendors to work with.

Impeccable customer service
Impeccable customer service and hardworking team at Abu Wear. We preordered some kufiyas in October as many thousands of others did in response to the ongoing horror in Gaza - this was done with the full knowledge that it would take many months for the kufiyas to be made by the ONLY remaining maker in Palestine and shipped to Ireland, then finally shipped to us. In the mean time I unexpectedly changed address and Ryan was very kind to help me throughout the whole process to ensure that our kufiyas made it to us after a minor issue with my old address. Thank you Ryan and the hardworking team at Abu for working tirelessly to not just give us access to these beautiful kufiyas but contributing in supporting Palestinian livelihoods and the Palestinian cause.
Late review but recieved my saoirse…

Delighted with it and will definitely order from yous again! Would highly recommend this small irish business. Ignore the bad reviews!
